Chapter 137 How did Jessie find out about her past?
Jessie sat back on the sofa in Dominic’s office like she belonged there. Her voice came out easy, like nothing was wrong.
“I tried to reach you last night.”
Dominic had been focused on his work, but the moment he heard that, he stopped. His hand paused over the papers as his eyes moved to her.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
Jessie did not rush. She repeated it slowly, making sure he understood every word.
“I called your phone last night. Your wife picked up.”
Anger filled Dominic’s eyes the moment he heard that. He stood up fast and walked straight toward her.
“I told you not to contact me first!” he shouted, and the force in his voice made Jessie jump.
“You are shouting at me because of that?” she asked, her tone sharp.
“You never listen, Jessie! I warned you!”
“Dominic, you have no idea how much I miss you.”
He let out a rough breath through his teeth. “Miss me? You are talking about missing me? You just destroyed everything. Now Aria knows. She will start suspecting things.”
He dragged his hand over his face, trying to think through what this would cause. That explained why Aria had been acting strange that morning.
Jessie stood up and walked toward him slowly. A small, dangerous smile rested on her lips. She stepped closer, wrapped her arms around him, and pressed herself against him like nothing was wrong.
“That is even better,” she said. “Now we do not have to waste time worrying about useless things.”
Dominic pushed her away without holding back.
“You are wrong. I do not want to lose Aria. You know she is my wife. I went through too much to have her.”
“And you expect me to be impressed?” Jessie replied with a mocking look.
Dominic felt anger build inside him. He never thought Jessie would go this far. They had agreed on one thing. If she wanted to stay close to him, she had to keep their relationship hidden. But now everything was ruined because of her careless move.
“But now that your wife knows everything, what are you going to do?” Jessie pressed.
Dominic looked at her, his eyes losing focus for a moment. He took a deep breath.
“I will think about it later. For now, just leave. Seeing you here only makes me feel worse about Aria.”
“You can not just leave me, Dominic,” Jessie said, her voice serious.
“I said go home first, Jessie.”
“But…”
“Do you understand what I am saying?”
His gaze turned cold, and Jessie finally gave in. She picked up her expensive bag from the sofa, the same one she had thrown there earlier, and walked out without saying another word.

Aria stepped out of the taxi.
The driver had taken her around for a while, but in the end, she chose to stop at her husband’s office. From today, she would watch him closely. She would not let a woman like Jessie take him away piece by piece.
No matter what, Dominic was her husband. Jessie was nothing but a part of the past that had come back to ruin her happiness. Aria knew she had to act.
She had fought before. Back then, her own mother had hurt her again and again just because she wanted to stay with Dominic. She had endured all of that.
And now, another test had come.
This time, it was because of his past.
She let out a breath and spoke to herself.
“You are strong, Aria. You can handle this. Tear that home wrecker apart.”
With firm steps, she walked into the tall building that belonged to her husband.
She walked in with confidence, humming softly under her breath. She greeted every employee she passed with a bright smile, and they greeted her back just as warmly.
“Is your morning really that good, ma’am?”
Aria stopped when she heard the voice. She turned toward it.
“Daisy?” she said, confused.
She barely knew Daisy, yet the girl spoke to her as if they had known each other for a long time.
“I am sorry if I was too forward,” Daisy said.
Aria shook her head. “It is fine. How is your morning?”
Daisy smiled. “Not as bright as yours, ma’am.”
Aria gave a small laugh. “Just call me Aria. Since you spoke to me first, I will take it that we are friends now.”
Daisy studied her face for a moment. Dominic really had a beautiful wife. If she were a man, she would probably fall for Aria too, even knowing she was already married.
“Do not trust people too easily,” Daisy warned.
“I know. But that is just who I am. I like making friends,” Aria replied with a gentle smile.
“You will get hurt.”
“I already know that.”
“You are not afraid of disappointment?”
“I have felt it all before. So I can handle it now,” Aria answered in a relaxed tone.
Daisy looked at her more carefully.
“Alright then. Let us be friends.” She held out her hand, and Aria took it happily. “Are you here to see your husband?”
“Yes. Is he around?”
“As far as I know, yes.”
“He does not have any meetings this morning?”
Daisy shook her head. “No.”
Aria paused for a moment. “Alright. I will go to his office.”
“Okay. I am heading to the cafeteria. It is a free schedule today, so I can go there whenever I want,” Daisy said.
Aria laughed softly. After saying goodbye, they went their separate ways.
The moment Aria stepped into the elevator, her smile disappeared.
Daisy’s words replayed in her mind. Dominic had no schedule. But he had told her earlier that he had a meeting that morning.
A slow smile formed on Aria’s lips.
“So the game has already started?” she muttered to herself.
The elevator doors opened. Aria stepped out with firm steps, and the moment she moved forward, her eyes landed on someone standing right in front of her.
She crossed her arms.
“Jessie,” she said, a faint smile on her lips.
Jessie looked shocked to see her there. For a second, she could not move.
“Did your office move into my husband’s room?” Aria asked. Her face looked relaxed, but her tone carried an edge.
Jessie did not answer right away. She forced herself to hold Aria’s gaze.
“I have business with Dominic,” she said, trying to sound steady.
Aria let out a short laugh. “Business? What kind of business?”
“What do you mean?”
“Relax, Jessie. Why do you look so tense? I am not going to do anything to you.”
Inside, Jessie cursed. She could tell Aria was trying to trap her.
She looked straight at Aria. “You know I own a well known fashion company.”
Aria nodded. “Of course I know.”
She paused for a second. “Then why is the director of a fashion company in my husband’s office?” Aria leaned closer, bringing her lips near Jessie’s ear. “Or are you selling your body to him?”
Jessie went still. The words cut deep and made her feel small.
Without thinking, she raised her hand and slapped Aria across the face.
The slap landed hard, and for a second, Aria stood there in shock. But she forced herself to stay composed.
She looked at Jessie with a hard gaze, but Jessie’s eyes burned even more.
“You do not know who I am. Watch your words if you do not want Dominic to throw you out of his life.”
Aria let out a short, mocking sound. “You are threatening me? You are nothing but a cheap woman, Jessie, and you know it.”
Jessie smiled in return, but there was no warmth in it. This time, she leaned closer to Aria.
“Did you forget, or are you pretending not to remember? I do not know if you are pure or not. But I do know one thing. The woman who is now Dominic’s wife once stole her own mother’s husband.”
Aria could not move. Her body went still, and she could not find any words.
“What do you think will happen to Dominic if I make that public?”
Aria felt trapped.
Her thoughts started turning fast, one after another. How did Jessie find out about her past?
