Chapter 20 Not Safe
Chapter 20 Not Safe
"I don't need any help from you!"
I tried to cover up all the fear that was coursing through my body. I didn't want to look at them, imagining the creepy faces with tattoos and scars on their bodies gave me goosebumps.
"Keep your hands off me!"
"Wow. You're so fierce, pretty lady."
"Why are you so angry? Your boyfriend must have touched your whole body many times--"
"Don't be crazy! Watch your language!"
I quickly quickened my pace, trying to increase the distance between me and the thugs. And as if to attract their attention, they were even more eager to harass and follow me.
Their hands were getting more and more disrespectful, touching me at various points of my body. Face, neck, hair, they poked me like I was entertainment for them.
I forgot, this district... gosh, district no 19. Why would I forget about this? It's only natural that Mr Steward looks so worried. Apparently this is what he meant.
I kept walking, trying not to pay attention to any of the distractions the thugs gave me. The smell of their musty, sour bodies mixed with cigarettes bothered me so much, I who was already tired from the day's agenda felt even more dizzy because of that scent.
I can't imagine how filthy they are. No showers, huddling in filthy places, poor sanitation, drinking alcohol and smoking non-stop. I'm nauseous, my insides feel like they're about to burst out of my stomach.
"Ack! What the hell are you guys doing?!"
I screeched loudly, trying to break free by pushing away the people crowding around me. They turned my body around so quickly that I could clearly see their physiques in person.
Just as I expected, dirty bodies with sinister faces. Also with lewd expressions, hungry stares, wide grins. God, I'll think about being more careful in the future. This is really creepy.
"Let go of me! Stop holding me!"
The grip of their hands was strong, commensurate with their large bodies. The homeless people who were also a group of thugs were holding a girl, of course their intentions were bad. I'm afraid what I feared the most will come true.
"Tsk, arrogant girl. If we were handsome and had a lot of money you would have strutted in front of us, right? You're just a fat, ugly girl. You'll feel the punishment from us for acting like a sell-out in front of us."
They laughed, a laugh filled with ill intent. I knew it, my survival instinct made me immediately struggle. However, I didn't have the strength to break free from all of them.
I screamed, but my voice was hoarse. The cry for help that I made was to no avail.
The place was so quiet now. The streetlights were dim, dim, and cold. Even some of them were broken and made the street very dim. There was no one else there, just us.
Where was everyone?
There were at least one or two who heard.
It could be that they heard, but were too scared and reluctant to help.
I could only close my eyes and try to protect what I could, I couldn't move anymore due to exhaustion and difficulty.
"Woah, you smell so good. I love your scent..."
One of the lips approached my ear, with a warm breath coming closer and being felt up to my neck.
BUAGH
The sound of a punch rang out loudly, and instantly I heard something fall. I slowly opened my eyes, and instantly the people who had been surrounding me had moved away.
Rather, they turned to another figure from nowhere, but he was standing alone and surrounded by those thugs. A situation that truly depicted a fierce battle to follow.
The figure with the hat and hoodie then threw a punch that hit one of the thugs there. But the other thugs did not remain silent. In fact, they attacked at the same time.
The mysterious person in the hoodie didn't back down, he didn't look fazed. I admit that his martial arts skills were also very good. He parried punches, and locked his opponent's body to the ground.
Karate and Judo, I'm sure he's more than proficient in those two martial arts, because he's very agile. The stance he has, the punching ability is very precise and precise. And the ability to render an opponent's body helpless from an attack, all of that amazes me.
Grepp
"Ack! Let go! Let go of me!"
I didn't realise that there was another person behind me. He was holding my body in place so that I couldn't move freely. I knew this situation, it was so cliché, surely they would use me as a hostage to weaken the mysterious man who helped me.
"Stop! Or I'll hurt this girl."
The man stopped, I could see his pair of eyes from behind the black cloth mask. Instantly he stopped, the fight paused but not the tense atmosphere that was there.
"Give up what you have and get out of here if you want the girl to survive!"
The man was silent for a moment, he then seemed to be thinking. However, he immediately took out a wallet from his pocket and intended to hand it over.
Gosh, I don't want anyone else's things to be sacrificed because of me.
"Just put it on the ground!"
The man shook his head and pointed at me, without speaking. He then pointed again at his wallet and gave a thumbs up. As if signalling that he would hand over his wallet if they actually handed me over safely.
The thugs' attention was focussed on the thick wallet that contained the money, it seemed that they were hardly tempted by the money inside. And quickly, the man attacked the man holding me and I was able to get away from him safely.
The man who helped me was very agile, he immediately paralysed all those people without waiting long. And it wasn't until everyone was on the ground that he called the police to report the incident.
I immediately hugged and approached the masked figure. I was completely safe now. After all that time I felt so scared and in danger. I was now free and could breathe freely.
I didn't hesitate to trust this masked person, nor did I know to stay by his side until the police arrived with the thugs. Because I knew he was someone.
"Chris, thank goodness you came. I don't know what my condition would have been like if you hadn't helped me."
