Chapter 18 - Part I
We made out till we realised that we were running out of protection.
"I was going to bring it today, you know? In case Aaron forgot about giving them back day after tomorrow. But then, I got a call from Beckett that Miranda had come to visit you and I came running back." Terrence said, his voice coming out muffled because his face was buried between my breasts.
"Why did he tell you that?" I asked and he looked up.
"Because I had told him to inform me about every pest that enters the house. I had a feeling that Hunter might come to apologise, and I wanted to be right there to give him another black eye - I wasn't quite done that night." He grinned.
I trailed my finger along the dried trail of tears down his cheeks to his chin, and tugged it closer. He crawled upwards so that our breaths were mingling, and I grinned back at him.
*I love you.* It was right on the tip of my tongue, overwhelming me to the point that I almost blurted it out.
But I wanted to wait. I wanted to know if I still felt the same for him after sex. Maybe my feelings just bubbled out of the sexual tension that always crackled in the air when he was around, or maybe it was because of how we barely got the time to spend with each other.
I leaned up and kissed the tip of his nose.
"Can I ask you something?" He asked, his brows furrowed.
"Yes."
"You trusted me." He stated and I flipped us so that I was on top.
"Is that a question?" I raised a brow, and he grinned, swooping down to steal a kiss.
"I'm serious. Miranda has a bad reputation of taping every guy she has banged. And she uses those tapes to wreck every relationship she comes across. When I saw that cell phone in your hold, with you staring at the screen so blankly, I had lost all hope. I was so sure you weren't going to believe me, and I panicked. Never did I feel like hitting a woman before, Alyssa, trust me, but I was more worried thinking about how I was going to make you believe that I would never do that to you."
I lifted my head off his chest and looked straight at him, "Why would you even think that I don't trust you?" I asked him incredulously.
"It's because no matter how much we'd like to believe that we know each other like the back of our hands, we actually don't. I am not complaining; if the twins are the ones behind us being together today, then I'm no one to complain about them taking up all of the time we have with each other. I could have shitted my pants right when you said that you didn't give a fuck if I cheated on you. You... I... I don't know...I thought everything right then, everything that could make you stay, but, for the love of all, nothing and absolutely nothing came to mind. I don't remember a single thing that I did for you, anything that would stand out as a reason to stay."
"You are stupid." I repeated the same words I had been saying for the past half hour, "You really are stupid." I buried my face in the crook of his neck, "There are many things that you have done for me, and trust me, there are more than enough reasons for me to stay."
"Like?"
I gave him another look.
"Firstly, I know how much you love the twins and how you'd never do such a thing that might affect them in one way-"
"There. There! Once again!" He shouted, flipping us so that he was on top of me, his half naked body distracting me.
"Now what?"
"*This. The babies.* I knew it! They are the only reason why you believed me-"
"Stop it, Terrence! Why don't you just listen to me?! The babies aren't the only reason!" I snapped, pushing his chest and flipping us so that I was straddling him, again.
He scowled at me.
"We are not fighting over this." I declared, "Why don't you listen to me when I say that Raine and Ryan aren't the only reasons I am still here?"
The way he was looking at me melted whatever little anger had bubbled up inside me due to his insecurity.
It was clear: Terrence Powers valued me way too much to even think about losing me.
I kissed his eyelids and said softly, "I wouldn't have believed her anyways, Terrence, because, first of all, she was lying."
He looked confused, "What did she say?"
"She said that you regretted fucking me."
He gave me a look.
A long look.
A very *long* look.
And I slowly felt Terrence Jr. Waking up under me.
Heat rose to my cheeks when he groaned and said, "I never even had a taste of you yet I still keep on believing that I'd want to fuck you even when we both are six feet under. And she said that? Unbelievable."
I grinned at him and continued, "When she showed me that snap of yours, I was more confused than hurt. Everything...the whole picture seemed wrong, and that was when you entered the scene. Looking at you, I just refused to believe that you would lead me on like that just to cheat on later. So I went inside and studied it, *thoroughly*. And I found many things."
He prompted me with a questioning look and I grinned in return.
I shifted above him, making sure to grind against him before trailing my fingers across his stubble. "Your clean shaven jaw in that picture felt so, so wrong, because I distinctly remembered doing this..." I ran my tongue across his stubble and he groaned, "...right in the morning."
I grinned at how he was so responsive, and continued to lick, suck and nip all the way down his jaw to his collarbone. Once I reached his pectorals, I started kissing all of them one by one. "When I counted these," I murmured, "You had only six of them in that picture, but I think I can see two more now..." I trailed off, my mouth very, very close to the waistline of his boxers.
He shuddered violently under me and suddenly moved to grab my shoulders.
"Okay, alright. I clearly understand why and how you could believe me. But..." He trailed off as we looked down at the distinctive bulge in his boxers, "My patience and self control are hanging on the edge, and if you continue, I will cum right here."
He groaned again and fell back while I giggled, inconspicuously clenching my thighs together. Straddling him and feeling him hardened right under me affected too, and my core was still tingling.
It was at that moment, when I was giggling, that he looked at me, with a secretive little smile on his face, his gaze so intense that it made me stop giggling.
"What?" I asked, when he was looking at me for a moment too long.
"I..." He murmured something and then grabbed my face, pulling me in for a soul-shattering kiss. "I hate you for making me need a cold shower."
My heart that had stopped beating for a moment faltered again and I scowled at him when he pushed me off himself and chuckled.
A romantic bastard, wasn't he?
