Chapter 105 Let Her Go
Chapter 105 Let Her Go
After settling Oliver and Amelia, Glenn stood at the door holding the equally sleeping Vincent, his voice returning to its usual coldness.
"Get some rest."
"OK, you too."
The same politeness and distance again, as if they'd gone back to when they first met.
Glenn's tall figure disappeared at the end of the hallway. Isabella leaned against the door, feeling completely drained of energy.
After playing all day, Isabella was also a bit tired. Without time to think too much, she went to bed early.
Early the next morning, Isabella's phone kept ringing. She opened her sleepy eyes and picked it up.
She found that notifications from various news apps had exploded.
And all the messages pointed to the same topic.
#Glenn Isabella Romance
She clicked on the one that had already shot to the top of the trending list.
What met her eyes was that photo of her on the carousel, being gazed at affectionately by Glenn.
Looking at the online comments saying they were a perfect match, then thinking back to last night's conversation in the car, Isabella found it extremely ironic.
She closed her phone expressionlessly, not wanting to deal with this boring gossip.
She had just finished washing up when there was a knock on the ward door.
It was Glenn again.
He was still wearing yesterday's suit, but his shirt was a bit wrinkled, some stubble had appeared on his chin, and there were faint dark circles under his eyes. He looked somewhat tired and haggard.
Isabella looked at him, somewhat surprised.
"I came to say goodbye," Glenn spoke, his voice a bit hoarse.
"Goodbye?" Isabella was stunned.
"Yes," He nodded, his gaze falling on Oliver still sleeping in the bed, his expression complex. "I'm taking Vincent abroad."
This news was too sudden. Isabella's heart inexplicably dropped, and she instinctively asked, "Why so sudden? Vincent's recovery has been going well."
"Winter is coming. The climate here is too cold, not suitable for Vincent's recovery." He gave a reasonable explanation, then added, "In the coming years, the company's business focus will expand overseas, so unless necessary, we probably won't be coming back."
These words hit Isabella's heart like a boulder, stirring up waves.
She didn't know what she was feeling.
Just that somewhere in her heart suddenly felt empty, with cold wind rushing in.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but found her throat terribly dry.
In the end, she only managed a stiff smile. "Have a safe trip."
"Thank you," Glenn responded, and the atmosphere fell into awkward silence again.
"I have something to do, I'll go out first." Isabella felt some indescribable bitterness in her heart, so she made an excuse and turned to leave.
Just as she brushed past him, her wrist was suddenly gripped tightly by a burning hot hand.
"Isabella!"
Glenn's voice carried a hint of uncontrollable urgency and pain.
Isabella turned back in shock, meeting his unfathomable eyes.
"Think about what I said last night again!" He stared at her intently, saying seriously, "I'm not making a deal with you, I'm serious!"
Before he could finish, an ice-cold voice suddenly came from the other end of the hallway, carrying heavy anger.
"Mr. Woods, holding my woman in front of me isn't appropriate, is it?"
Isabella's body jerked violently, and she and Glenn looked toward the sound together.
At the end of the hallway, Terry was striding over.
He wore a sharp black coat that made his figure look even taller and straighter.
His extraordinarily handsome face was now covered with frost, and those deep eyes showed none of their usual laziness, only a terrifying storm.
His gaze was locked dead on the hand Glenn was using to grip Isabella's wrist, the possessiveness and fury in his eyes very obvious, making even Isabella feel dazed.
How could he be here?
Before Isabella could fully react, Terry's footsteps stopped in front of the two, bringing overwhelming pressure.
He didn't look at Isabella, only stared at Glenn, his thin lips curving into a faint arc.
"Mr. Woods, didn't you hear what I just said?" He repeated, his voice colder. "Let her go."
Hearing this, Glenn not only didn't let go but gripped even tighter.
He met Terry's hostile gaze, his eyes equally cold and sharp.
Two men who both stood at the top of the pyramid, in this moment, released their full presence, silently confronting each other.
"Mr. Carter," Glenn slowly spoke, his voice steady but carrying undeniable authority, "matters between Isabella and me don't seem to be your place to interfere."
Terry narrowed his eyes dangerously at these words, the curve of his lips growing colder: "Have you forgotten whose children Oliver and Amelia are? Why wouldn't it be my place to interfere?"
These words precisely hit Glenn's sore spot.
Glenn's expression darkened, the pressure around him dropping even lower.
"So what?" He laughed coldly. "A man who can't even protect his own woman and children, who lets her fall into danger repeatedly, what right does he have to stand here making demands?"
Fury instantly ignited in Terry's eyes.
Isabella, caught between the two men, felt like she was suffocating. She tried hard to break free from Glenn's hand, saying urgently, "That's enough! Let go!"
But Glenn held on tight, not giving her any chance to break free.
Just then, Terry suddenly moved.
He stepped forward, and instead of dealing with Glenn's hand, he directly reached out his long arm and pulled Isabella's shoulder, bringing her entire body into his embrace with absolutely dominant force!
The familiar cold cedar scent instantly surrounded Isabella, but this time, instead of being reassuring, it was full of domineering aggression.
"Mr. Woods," Terry held Isabella, looking down at Glenn's hand still gripping her wrist, his eyes contemptuous and provocative. "Now, do you still want to hold my woman?"
His other hand was still holding his phone.
From the corner of her eye, Isabella glimpsed that on the phone screen was the trending photo of her and Glenn at Disneyland.
So, he'd seen it all.
So now, he was here to demand an explanation?
What right did he have!
While he was coaxing another woman, he also wanted to interfere in her business. What right did he have?
Isabella felt suffocated.
She glanced at Terry's hand on her shoulder and laughed lightly. "Mr. Carter, this is between us and has nothing to do with you."
