Chapter 163
Could it really be that he liked Edith?
By all accounts, Justin was supposed to hate her.
But if he hated Edith so much, why was he defending her?
No matter how many times Yvonne turned it over in her mind, she
couldn’t figure out what was going on.
Justin took both of Edith’s hands in his and asked quietly, “Which hand did you use?”
Yvonne thought, at last, Justin was acting normally again–asking Edith which hand she’d used, probably to teach her a lesson or something.
Edith looked startled as well.
Was he serious?
From the way he said it, it sounded as if he might chop off the offending hand.
Edith frowned, hesitating, then reluctantly held out her right hand. “This one.”
Justin’s brow furrowed as he took her right hand, turning it over in his palm to examine it carefully.
Sensing an opportunity, Susan jumped in, piling on, “She just hit me out of nowhere, and she didn’t hold back at all! Edith looks dainty, but she packs the punch of a linebacker,”
The more Justin listened, the deeper his frown grew.
Edith began to worry she might actually lose her right hand today.
If only she’d lied and said it was her left. She needed her right hand–for painting, for everything important.
But then, to her shock, Justin raised her hand to his lips and blew on it gently, right in front of everyone, utterly unconcerned by the two other

people in the room.
“Did it hurt your hand, hitting so hard? Do you want me to get you some
ointment?”
“What?” Edith stared at him, utterly thrown off. Her words came out slowly, as if she couldn’t quite believe it. “No… it doesn’t hurt anymore.”
Justin’s frown deepened. “So it hurt at the time, then? Mrs. Hawksley’s hands are for painting. If you’ve got strength to spare, save it for your art. Next time, let someone else deal with it.”
Yvonne and Susan were both stunned into silence.
It finally dawned on them that they’d come to the wrong place today.
Justin let go of Edith’s hand, then looked up, his sharp gaze making
Yvonne and Susan shiver.
“My wife’s hands are far too precious for this. Next time, watch yourself. Don’t provoke her again. Because if you do, it won’t be my petite wife dealing with you. It’ll be three or four security guards.”
Susan broke out in a cold sweat.
She bitterly regretted following Yvonne here. Not only had she gotten herself into trouble, but if she dragged the Johnson family down with her,
she’d never recover.
After warning Susan, Justin turned his icy gaze on Yvonne. “Take your friend and leave. This isn’t a place where just anyone can waltz in. Coming here and making a scene only brings bad luck to the Hawksley family.”
Now, Yvonne’s tears were genuine–no acting, just raw frustration.
She wiped her eyes, sniffling. “Justin! She shouldn’t have hit anyone, and you can’t just take her side like this. I’m going to find Mr. and Mrs. Hawksley and get to the bottom of this!”
With that, Yvonne began searching frantically for Benedict and Sarah, darting about like a drowned rat.

Chapter 163
At this point, Benedict and Sarah were her last hope.
Justin was notorious for never giving anyone an inch, but Benedict and
Sarah were elders, and the Hawksleys and the Hart family had a
longstanding friendship.
Surely, they’d at least let her save some face.
