Chap.124*Calling Him Home*

"So," I adjusted myself near Desmond, focusing less on the food in front of me. Ava was flopped on her seat with Roy in his baby seat and being fed by Ava.

We were enjoying the beautiful weather under the patio umbrella with the breakfast served before us.

"Yes, my love?" Desmond took a bite of the French toast and averted his attention to me.

"Babe, do you remember Garret?" As I slowly murmured, I found Ava swiftly raising her face and staring at me.

"That as**Ole?" Desmond frowned, questioning me, and once I nodded he shook his head in disbelief, "Who wouldn't remember that sh**," he sounded still upset with him.

That's when I knew it was going to be so hard to convince him.

"Umm! That was years ago." I murmured in my mouth, "Actually," I spoke again and Ava quickly shook her head, eyeing me to not talk about Garret. She didn't know I was still in contact with Garret, so I don't know what she was thinking about me bringing up his name in doesn't of Desmond.

"He messaged me a few days ago," as I have only finished speaking, Desmond interrupted.

"I hope you didn't respond to him," he replied and kept eating like the topic ended there.

"Desmond, I responded to him." the moment I said it, he dropped the fork in the plate and stared at my face blankly, "In fact, I've reclaimed my friendship with him." it was so hard to speak while he was glaring at my face nonstop.

"I'll take Roy to his room," Ava knew the stress was going to increase so she picked up Roy and walked back towards the mansion, giving us free time.

"Ayleen, I hope you are joking." Desmond clenched his jaw and his nostrils flared, he sounded angry.

"I'm not." I raised my voice, "He is just a friend, Desmond. You questioning me making me feel like you don't even trust me." I raised my voice even louder and he shook his head.

"I can't believe you did me dirty like this. Did you keep in contact with him without even telling me? You know he had a crush on you, Right?" Desmond brought up something that didn't make any sense, "Don't tell me you had no clue that he was mad that you chose me because he also liked you?" Desmond rolled his eyes and scoffed in anger.

"Desmond! Even if it was, he had moved on. He is not even interested in me anymore." I lowered my tone and started being very polite but hurt because he wasn't believing me, "You are over here mad and I had already offered him a room until he finds a job." As soon as I stated that, he looked even madder.

"What the hec* Ayleen, you invited him over?" he raised his tone and slammed the table, "You knew I didn't like him, you knew what his intentions used to be for you, yet not only did you keep a contact with him, but invited him over without even asking me once if I allow it or not." He got up on his feet and after he was done yelling at me, he left for the mansion.

I was left amazed at how he behaved with me. I knew what I did was wrong, I wouldn't allow him to bring a girl home as well but now I had made a promise to Garret, how was I going to tell him that I can't give him a roof without hurting him?

I stayed behind for a moment and then after hyping myself up to have a talk with him, I stormed after him.

Once I entered the mansion, I found Ava and Desmond standing together Ava trying to calm him down.

"You made me realize one thing today," I said, tearing forming in my eyes and I genuinely was upset, "This is only your house." I finished and whimpers began to left my lips.

"Ayleen, this isn't what he meant. He just doesn't trust and like Garret," Ava tried to reach me but I showed her my palm, halting her steps midway.

"Ayleen, you know this is your house as much as it is mine." Desmond had calmed down now that I was balling my eyes like a stubborn kid.

"No! It's fine. You don't trust me, it's fine." I nodded, I don't know how it happened but I genuinely was upset that he was even questioning my decisions.

"Ayleen! I was just angry because that man had a crush on you years ago and now he is messaging you again." Desmond slowly approached me and held my hand in his hands, I knew he couldn't see me crying but it didn't mean that I was lying or acting.

"He never liked me." I lied, I did feel like he had a crush on me, but now I've to say it so that Desmond doesn't freak out.

"How do you know that?" Desmond asked, looking all suspicious.

"Because he told me who he likes," I stated, obviously, a fib.

"And?" since Desmond was much calmer now, I knew I could somehow convince him to let me give Garret a room for a few days.

"He had always liked Ava," as I announced a white lie that I've just constructed, Ava let out a loud gasp in confusion, "But trust me he just wants a place to stay over since he had been evicted." I was happy that now things seemed much better. Though Ava seemed heavily down, Desmond was trying to understand me now. He seemed like would agree with me if I push a little harder.

"I didn't want to invite him over, but it just left my lips and then he began to thank me so much that I felt bad for backpedaling." I was looking Desmond in the eye, looking all sad and upset.

"Fine, he can come over but tell him to behave." Desmond finally gave in, just like he always does to my wishes.
