Chapter 51 Pregnancy Report Form
Chapter 51 Pregnancy Report Form
At the same time, in the southern part of Harborview City, at a private maternity hospital.
Julie and Marigold walked out of the second-floor consultation room, holding a manila envelope in their hands.
Inside the envelope was a pregnancy test report—six weeks pregnant, all indicators normal.
The report bore Julie's name, the examining doctor's stamp was real, and the date was today's.
The only thing fake was the pregnancy itself.
Marigold had paid two hundred thousand dollars for this fake report. She carefully folded it and handed it to Julie, saying, "Put it away safely and take it out at the critical moment."
Julie knew the importance of this report. She nodded, stuffed the report into her bag, put on her sunglasses, and took Marigold's arm. The two of them hurried through the corridor toward the elevator.
Neither of them noticed that by the nurse's station at the end of the corridor, a middle-aged man in a white coat was holding a coffee and glancing in their direction.
The man's name was Leo Schmidt, deputy director of cardiothoracic surgery at Mercy Point Medical Center. He was at this private hospital today for a cross-hospital consultation.
He recognized Julie—more precisely, he recognized Ryan.
Ryan had once brought Julie to see Raymond for treatment. At that time, Raymond had introduced Ryan as his nephew and mentioned that Julie was Ryan's fiancée.
Now Julie was walking out from the obstetrics and gynecology area, looking a bit flustered and walking rather quickly.
Leo took a sip of his coffee and didn't think much of it.
Young people's business. Though next time he saw Raymond, he could offer congratulations—Ryan was going to be a father.
When Julie and Marigold returned home, they were surprised to see Cordelia there too.
Upon seeing Cordelia, Marigold screamed as if she'd seen a ghost, "Why are you at home?"
She looked around—yes, this was her own home, no mistake about that. But hadn't Cordelia already moved out? Why was she here?
Cordelia looked up leisurely and said, "This is my home too. Why can't I come back?"
Seeing her so calm and composed, Marigold said furiously, "You dare say that! Last time you blackmailed your father for so much money—what did you say then? Didn't you say you'd move out and leave The Fox Villa?"
Cordelia nodded. "Yes, I did say that, and I did it too. But you seem to have forgotten—I said I'd move out of The Fox Villa, which I did. But I never said I wouldn't come back."
Seeing Cordelia being unreasonable, Marigold's chest heaved violently with anger. She pointed her finger at Cordelia and said, "Damn it, I knew you were a jinx, here to bring bad luck to our family!"
"Mom, don't get upset."
Julie, seeing this, helped Marigold to sit down on the nearby sofa, then said sternly to Cordelia, "Cordelia, if you have something to say, say it quickly and then leave. Look how upset you've made Mom!"
"No wonder Mom only has eyes for you as a daughter—so caring."
After this sarcastic remark, Cordelia picked up a phone and waved it, saying, "You know Lonnie, right?"
"Who, Lonnie?"
Julie didn't know why Cordelia would suddenly mention Lonnie. Her expression showed a moment of panic, but she quickly covered it up. "Who's that? I don't know him."
"Don't know him?"
Cordelia laughed lightly. Without arguing, she opened the phone, pulled up the photos she'd just taken, and tossed the phone at Julie's feet.
Seeing this, Marigold couldn't hold back anymore and screamed, "Cordelia, what are you up to now!"
"Nothing much. Julie dared to have someone follow me, and I just happened to teach the person she sent out a little lesson."
As Cordelia finished speaking, Julie looked down at the photo on the phone on the ground.
In the photo, Lonnie was slumped in a large pit, covered in mud and water, his expression panicked and frightened.
Seeing this, Julie couldn't help but cry out, "What did you do to him?"
Cordelia sneered, "So much for not knowing him?"
"I..." Julie's eyes darted around, desperately trying to come up with an explanation.
Seeing this, Cordelia warned directly, "Forget it, stop making up lies. Since I've caught him, he's obviously told me everything. Julie, I'm warning you—stop pulling these little tricks behind my back. Otherwise, next time, you'll be the one buried alive."
"Cordelia, what are you doing? She's your sister! Are you really going to kill her?"
Seeing her dare to threaten Julie in front of her, Marigold was furious.
"Why not? It just depends on whether she behaves herself."
Cordelia stood up and glanced at Julie. "Julie, if I were you, I'd hide my criminal evidence well and not let it show so easily. Otherwise, what awaits you is complete ruin."
Julie was scared. This time she was really scared.
Her fingers trembling with anger, she shouted, "Cordelia, don't think I'm afraid of you! You're targeting me like this because of Ryan, aren't you? Fine! You can't have Ryan, so you went after Raymond, is that it? You think the Perez family would want someone like you?"
"Who knows how many men slept with you during those years you were missing? You want to marry into the Perez family? Dream on!"
Julie's words were followed by the sound of Cordelia's slap.
"You hit me! You actually hit me!"
Julie covered her cheek, her eyes full of disbelief.
"Julie!"
Marigold stepped forward and held Julie, looking at the finger marks on her cheek before flying into a rage. "This is crazy! Someone come! Throw Cordelia out!"
As Marigold's words fell, Willie rushed into the living room with several security guards. But when they saw that the person to be thrown out was Cordelia, the guards looked at each other and froze in place.
Cordelia again? None of them was a match for Cordelia.
Seeing that no one dared to move, Marigold became even more furious. "What are you all standing around for? Hurry up and throw her out!"
Hearing this, Willie had no choice but to step forward reluctantly. "Ms. Fox, please leave."
Cordelia snorted coldly. "Fine, since I'm not welcome, I'll go."
As she brushed past Julie, Cordelia glanced at her and sneered, "Julie, I'm keeping track of every account between us, and we'll settle them slowly in the future!"
"Cordelia, don't be so smug! You really think no one can control you!"
Julie covered her face, the hatred in her eyes falling on Cordelia's face like a knife. "You just wait! I won't let you off!"
"Good, then I'll wait. Use whatever tricks you have!"
After Cordelia finished speaking, she strode away.
Seeing that she'd really left, Willie finally breathed a sigh of relief and waved his hand, leading the guards away.
After Cordelia left, Julie couldn't hold back anymore and started crying.
Hearing her cry, Marigold felt terrible. She quickly comforted her, "Julie, don't cry, don't cry. When your father comes back, I'll tell him everything that happened today and have him find a chance to teach Cordelia a good lesson."
