As Cristofer confidently referred to Estelle as his wife, Estelle’s secretary, Lucy, stood there with her mouth agape, her eyes wide in disbelief. Her thoughts raced, ‘Wait, what?! Miss Hudson is Mr. Hans’ wife? When did they get married? Wasn’t there talk about Mr. Hans getting engaged to a woman named Mila on that dating show?’

“Are you two a couple?” the policeman asked.
“Yes,” Cristofer answered calmly.

Cristofer tightened his hold on Estelle and smiled, saying, “Of course. We’ve been married for many years and have two children.”
“Mr. Hans, do you own a motorcycle?” the policeman inquired.
Shaking his head, Cristofer replied, “No, we have elderly family members and children to consider. A motorcycle wouldn’t be suitable for them in various weather conditions. Officer, may I ask why you’re inquiring about this? Is it related to the case?”
The policeman hesitated and was about to say something but was interrupted by his colleague. The other policeman then smiled and said, “It’s just a casual question. We already have the information we need regarding the incident. I appreciate your cooperation, Miss Hudson. If you need further details about this matter, please don’t hesitate to contact us.”
“Alright,” Estelle nodded.
“We’re leaving now. Goodbye.”
Estelle quickly turned to Lucy and asked, “Lucy, please escort the officers out.”
“Okay, Miss Hudson,” Lucy nodded and walked them out.
Seeing the policemen and Lucy leaving the reception room one after another, Estelle breathed a sigh of relief. The next moment, she took a step back quickly and freed herself from Cristofer’s embrace, feeling embarrassed.
“Sorry. I was too anxious just now, so I...”
“It’s okay,” Cristofer interrupted her with a chuckle and joked. “I don’t mind it if you are anxious like this a few more times.”
Estelle looked at him, her expression filled with disbelief. She responded softly, “How can Mr. Klein call the police? Isn’t he afraid he’ll end up in jail too?”
“He didn’t harm you physically, so he might just face an attempted crime charge and receive a light punishment. Plus, with his influential background, he could potentially bribe the police officers to avoid serious consequences. Jimmy, on the other hand, has been living a reckless life of pleasure and is vulnerable. When I confronted him that day, I hit him quite hard, and he likely sustained significant injuries. So, it’s unsurprising that he called the police to seek revenge.”
Upon hearing this, Estelle let out a sigh and shook her head in frustration. “The last time he tried to harm me, he received a more severe beating and was seriously injured, yet he didn’t involve the police. Why the sudden change this time?”
“The last time?” Cristofer was taken aback. He inquired further, “Who was responsible for his injuries on that occasion?”
Seeing Estelle fall into silence, Cristofer knew the answer. Then he smiled with self-mockery and said, “I’m always too late.”
“What?” Estelle didn’t know what he meant.
“After we got married, I had never been good to you. Back then, when I realized that I misunderstood you and wanted to get you back to me, it was too late because you had been with Mr. Mysterious. Since you came back from abroad, what I have done for you is the same as what Mr. Mysterious ever did for you. I’m always too late...”
Lowering her head, Estelle turned around, walked toward her desk, and sat down. “Let’s not talk about this,” she said as she clicked the mouse and fixed her eyes on the computer screen.
“Okay. Let’s drop the topic.” Cristofer put the donation agreement on her desk. “Put it away. Remember to get Christina back as soon as possible.”
As he spoke, he tapped the donation agreement with his finger. Then Estelle shifted her gaze to the donation agreement and saw York’s signature at a glance. She raised her head and asked excitedly, “How did you get York to agree to sign it?”
“I did that in my own way.” Cristofer didn’t answer her directly.
“Did you force him to sign it? Or did you promise to give him a lot of money as long as he donates his liver?” Estelle asked.
“You don’t need to know about these trivial things. You just need to focus on arranging everything about the surgery,” Cristofer suggested. After a pause, he added, “But don’t make yourself too tired. Take care of yourself. If you need help, just let me know.”
“Okay. Thank you,” Estelle said with a nod and then locked the donation agreement in the drawer of her desk.
‘Yay! Christina is going to be saved! It’s so great!’ she thought.
“How is the order of the diamond bracelet going?” Cristofer asked.
“Oh, the customer is satisfied with my design, and the bracelet is in production now,” Estelle said, “Thank you for helping me. If it hadn’t been for you, I wouldn’t have known how to deal with this order.”
Hearing this, Cristofer smiled gently and said, “I knew you could make it. You are smart. I only gave you a hint, and you designed the jewelry that satisfied the customer.”
Estelle was overjoyed and became talkative as she had solved all her problems. She said, “As you analyzed, that male customer cares more about the material and price of the jewelry. So I designed a more wallet-friendly bracelet with an original design for him.”
Gazing at her with a smile, Cristofer listened to her carefully.
“You told me that it’s the thought that counts, so I asked the customer what kind of flower that girl likes most. And then he immediately required that the diamond be carved into the shape of jasmine. So, I proposed to replace the big diamond with small diamonds carved into a jasmine shape and told him that, in this case, the bracelet would not only be original and exquisite but also cost less money. And he accepted it happily,” Estelle informed.
“That’s good. Some male customers may not consider designs when they buy jewelry. We should know about what they buy the jewelry for and guide them to tell us their requirements before designing jewelry. Otherwise, they may never be satisfied with the jewelry we design.”
“It looks like you know well about what customers think,” Estelle responded, smiling.
