Chapter 33 Chapter 33: I’m Still Your Husband
The two of them talked for a while, and Estelle received a call from Cristofer.
“Where are you?” Cristofer asked at the other end of the line.
They had made an appointment to go through the divorce procedures at the Court today.
“Have you arrived there? I’m coming now.”
Cristofer didn’t say anything and directly hung up the phone.
Aurora asked worriedly, “Is it Cristofer? Is there anything wrong with the baby?”
Estelle replied vaguely, “Well... Mom, I have to go now.”
“Go home quickly. The baby needs you. You don’t need to come here tomorrow. Take good care of the baby, and don’t worry about me,” Aurora urged her.
“I still want to come here,” Estelle stubbornly declared.
After saying goodbye to Aurora, Estelle left the hospital, took a taxi, and headed to the Court House.
On the way, she called Cristofer and wanted to tell him that she was on her way and ask him to wait for a while.
But then she remembered that Cristofer had blocked her, and the call won’t push through.
Unexpectedly, Cristofer’s voice came from the other end of the line when she was about to hang up.
“Hello?”
Estelle was slightly surprised and asked, “You removed my number from the blocklist?”
After a pause, Cristofer said in a low and unnatural voice, “I will put it back after we finish the divorce procedures.”
“All right, whatever,” Estelle retaliated helplessly. “Suit yourself.”
“What are you calling for? Do you want to postpone the divorce again?” Cristofer snarled.
“No, I’m more eager to end this wrong marriage than what you think. I’m on my way to the Court House. I’ll be there soon. Wait for me for a moment,” Estelle snapped back.
Cristofer said bluntly, “Is this your new trick? You said you would come here in the morning, but you didn’t show up, and I had to call you to urge you to come. Tell me, what’s your new reason this time? Your mother is seriously ill and needs care, or you had fun with another man last night and forgot to...”
“Cristofer!” Estelle interrupted him and snarled, “Do you have to push me into the corner? I already told you I’m coming!”
Cristofer was speechless.
She gnashed her teeth, adding, “Yes, I did meet that man last night because he can give me money! I need to pay for my mother’s treatment, my son’s surgery, and my surgery expenses. Anyway, I need money! I have no choice!”
“Is the Hudson family so poor now that you must sell your body to earn money? You liar,” Cristofer accused her and snorted.
“Our bank accounts have been frozen,” Estelle spat out.
Cristofer was stunned. “What!?”
“Your kind-hearted Gretchen asked her stepfather York, who is also my Uncle, to freeze all the bank accounts of my mother and me. I’m penniless now. I can’t pay my mother’s medical fees if I don’t have money. If you were me, would you choose to maintain your dignity over your mother’s life in such a situation?”
Cristofer was silent for a long time.
Estelle could only hear his breathing on the other end of the line.
“Why didn’t you tell me about it? Although your father killed my parents, your mother is innocent. If you ask me for help, I will help you.”
Estelle laughed hysterically and snapped, “How can I tell you all my struggles and ask you for help? You treated me as a liar. Oh, don’t forget that I can’t even reach you. Have you forgotten that you blocked me before?”
Cristofer was once again speechless.
“Forget it. It’s meaningless to talk about it now. I’m on the way to the Court, and I’ll be there soon. As soon as the divorce procedures are completed, we no longer have anything to do with each other, and both of us will be free. Congratulations in advance, you will be able to marry Gretchen by then.”
“Who’s that man?” Cristofer suddenly asked.
“Does it matter?” Estelle asked back.
“Tell me.”
“I don’t know.”
“Estelle!” Cristofer said, trying to hold back his anger. “Who on earth is that man? Tell me!”
“I’m also curious about who he is. If only I knew him, I would be grateful,” Estelle said. “But he has nothing to do with you. Cristofer, it’s none of your business, which he is. You don’t have the right to interfere with my affairs.”
“I do. Estelle, we haven’t divorced yet. I’m still your husband.”
My husband?
Estelle couldn’t help sneering.
It had been more than six years since she married Cristofer, but he had never done anything that a husband should do.
He never accompanied her to the hospital for prenatal care when she was pregnant. After the children were born, he didn’t take care of her. Since she came back from abroad, he had never shown a good attitude to her and let her live in the big house alone.

“Mr. Hans,” Estelle changed the way she addressed Cristofer and said. “After we divorced, you will no longer be my husband, and we have nothing to do with each other.”
Cristofer tightened his grip on the steering wheel and said, “What if I don’t want to get divorced?”
Estelle asked in shock, “Are you crazy?”
“Yes, I’ve been crazy for a long time. I went crazy after the damn car accident happened,” Cristofer yelled.
“Mr. Hans, please don’t say such words; otherwise, I will think that you still have feelings for me and don’t want me to leave you.”
Cristofer said in an unnatural tone, “Don’t flatter yourself. I just don’t want you, the person who killed my parents, to live a happy life. You want to divorce me and be with another man? Perish the thought!”
Estelle didn’t expect that he was so unreasonable, and she snapped back angrily, “What do you want to do? Maintain our meaningless marriage? No problem. I don’t care anyway. But I’m afraid your dear Gretchen can’t accept it.”
Her words left Cristofer speechless.
Estelle continued, “I know that you hate me and think that I’m the one who killed your parents and Mrs. Moorsum. If you want to take revenge on me, just do it.”
After saying that, she said, “I’ve arrived at the gate of the Court. Oh, I saw your car.”
At the moment, Cristofer’s black Maybach with license plate number 88888 was parked at the gate of the Court.
Estelle couldn’t help but feel a little funny seeing the plate number.
If it were in the past, Cristofer would think that only Parvenu liked such a plate number and would be contemptuous of it.
But now he actually could accept such a number.
Maybe it’s because Gretchen likes it, Estelle thought and sighed with heavy emotion.
In the past, Cristofer liked his bright yellow Porsche most because its license plate number was 0826, her birthday.
But in the past six years, he had never celebrated her birthday anymore, and she spent her birthdays alone.
