Chapter 21 Chapter 21: Her Baby Was Taken Away
When they entered the office, Estelle closed the door, bowed to the nurse, and said, “Miss, my mother doesn’t know I have cancer. Could you please keep it a secret?”
The nurse asked in confusion, “Aren’t you going to tell your family that you have lung cancer?”
“No, I don’t want my mother to worry about me,” Estelle said, shaking her head.
“Although you’ve had an operation and survived, no one knows whether you will relapse in the future, so you still need to come here for chemotherapy regularly. I don’t think you can manage to hide it from your family,” The nurse said with a worried look.
“That’s why I’m here to ask you to keep this secret for me. No matter who asks you about my condition, don’t tell them about it. My mother is weak now. I’m afraid that she can’t bear it if she knows.”
The nurse was in a dilemma and said, “Miss Hudson, I understand your feelings. You are indeed a filial and considerate daughter, but...”
“Please, Miss,” Estelle begged and bowed again. “I may not live long. Please take it as my last wish, will you?”
The nurse hesitated and was silent for a while.

Estelle then recalled the old days when Cristofer and her were passionately in love. Cristofer was always aloof and reserved when facing others. Only when staying with her would he show his gentleness.
However, many things had changed, and Cristofer’s gentleness was nowhere to be seen. Now when Cristofer looked at her, there was only coldness and hate in his eyes.
“I’m going to see my daughter. See you later,” Estelle bid farewell.
The nurse nodded. “Go ahead. I’ll take care of your mother. Don’t worry.”
Estelle then left the office and took the elevator to the Pediatric Department on the sixteenth floor.
Thinking that she would see her daughter, she was in a good mood.
But when she entered the ward, she found that her daughter was missing.
She immediately asked the nurse in the ward, “Where is my daughter? Where’s the baby on that bed?”
The nurse was confused and said, “Her father came to pick her up just now. Don’t you know that?”
Estelle was extremely anxious when hearing that Cristofer had taken her daughter away.
She took out her phone and called Cristofer at once. But she suddenly remembered that Cristofer had blocklisted her, so she borrowed a phone from the nurse.
She dialed Cristofer’s number in a hurry and got through easily.
“Cristofer, why did you take my daughter away?” She shouted.
“Miss Hudson?” A woman’s voice came from the other end of the line.
Estelle frowned, “Gretchen? Where is Cristofer? Give him the phone. I need to talk to him.”
“Cristofer is taking a shower, so he won’t talk with you on the phone. If you have anything to say, just tell me, and I’ll pass your words.”
Estelle said in a furious tone, “Where is my daughter? Did you ask him to take her away?”
Gretchen said slowly in a complacent voice, “Estelle, your daughter is with us now. Cristofer knows that I was sad about my miscarriage, so he brought your daughter back and asked me to raise her. I also wanted him to bring your son back, but unfortunately, your son has been taken to Ameris. What a pity!”
“What the hell do you want to do? If you hate me, you can do anything you want to me. Don’t hurt my child!” Estelle’s voice rose hysterically.
However, Gretchen said disdainfully, as if she hadn’t heard what Estelle had said, “Your daughter is so beautiful. If her beautiful face was scarred...”
“Shut up, you vicious woman!” Estelle interrupted her in anger.
“Estelle, I know that I can’t threaten you by just freezing your bank accounts. But now things are different. Your daughter is with me. If you don’t get divorced as soon as possible, I’m afraid that you will lose your daughter forever,” Gretchen said coldly.
While she was speaking, Estelle’s daughter suddenly cried loudly.
“Estelle, did you hear that? Your daughter is crying sadly.”
“Don’t hurt her.” Estelle took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and saying, “I’ll get divorced as soon as possible. Don’t hurt my daughter.”
However, Gretchen was not satisfied with her answer and said with a frown, “As soon as possible? I need an exact date.”
“My mother is sick, and I need to take care of her these days. When she gets better, I’ll divorce Cristofer immediately. Is that okay?”
“I can’t wait any longer,” Gretchen forced her. “Whether your mother is sick or not has nothing to do with me. It will be better if she dies. She chatters to us about you at home every day. It’s so annoying. If she dies, I will be able to live a more peaceful life.”
“Gretchen, how could you say such words? My mother has the right to do anything she wants at home. The owner of the Hudson’s House is my mother, not you!”
