This men knew that she had relationship with Wesley, and immediately tried to please her with pretty big smile on their faces. They inquired the detail about her relationship with Wesley.
Harriet wasn't grateful for Wesley at all, and she was even a little upset.
This man just her as a beautiful woman, and did not allow others to touch her as she was belonged to him. She was mad about him and could just smashed her bad temper on those guys present.
Since Wesley had asked them to take care of her, she would just accept his goodness.
"Henry, do you really allow me to act the second protagonist in the drama?"
"Miss Clark fits for the role in every aspect and you can even play the first heroine!"
Henry was so embarrassed that he didn't seem to dare to recall what he had done to Harriet just now.
"That is great!"She offered her glass,"Toast for you."
"My pleasure."Henry stopped her in a rush,"You can drink a cup of tea instead of the wine."
The waiter brought tea, Harriet took a sip, and her body gradually warmed up. Compliments all came from her ears from the men but she responded nothing.
"Boss Baker, I'm late."
A charming voice came, Harriet raised her eyelids and saw Irene.
She set such a big trap for her but just showed up now. She must wanted to see how embarrassed she would be but unfortunately she missed it.
Irene thought the show just started as the men were all sitting around her. She spotted the tea cup in Harriet's hand,"Harriet, why you just drink tea? Isn't is too stupid to do that?"
The atmosphere in the room as a little stagnant once Irene said those words.
Harriet took a calm look at Irene,"Henry, like I said, I should drink some wine instead of tea. Irene knows the rules though she just has debuted for a short time. It is rude for me to drink tea in front of you since I have longer experience than her in the industry."
The men were uneasy. Henry stared at Irene and yelled,"Irene, what nonsense are you talking about? Let alone you are late, how dare you treat Miss Harriet like that as she is also your senior in the group!"
Irene froze with confusion,"Henry, Didn't you..."
"What are you talking about, you are so rude. Just apologize to Miss Harriet."
Irene did not understand what was happening and Baker had stuffed her with a glass of wine.
Everyone looked at her and she still got no clue for all of these. She reluctantly drank the wine and then apologized to Harriet with the warning eyesight of Baker.
Harriet didn't lift her eyelids and just waved her hands indifferently."Forget it, we are acquaintances. Do not have to be so restraint."
"You..."
"Well, sit here, Irene."said Baker who was afraid that Irene would cause trouble. He quickly interrupted their conversation and let Irene sit next to him.
Irene was mad about the situation,"Boss Baker, what's wrong? Are these people all fascinated by the woman?"
"Keep down your voice,"Baker glanced at her, lowering his voice."I asked you to introduce someone for tonight. Why did you introduced her?"
"What's wrong? Harriet has no background and no status. Isn't she the perfect choice?"
"No background? I think your brain is flashed by water."Baker looked at her coldly."You messed up totally today. You better avoid meeting Henry and the other bosses present, including Harriet.
Irene felt awkward about the words Baker said. She glanced into the distance, seeing that Henry was smoking a cigarette for Harriet. She was shocked by that scene.
Harriet has just been abandoned by her boss, and even the brokerage company gave her up. What was going on?
Harriet was excited when she saw that Irene's uneasy face in the smoke.
She always bore in mind that she would revenge against people who hurt her. Thanks for Wesley, she could fight back at Irene today so sharply.
The next day, Harriet put on makeup early and went for the audition of the new company.
The head of the company, Laura, stopped her at the door of the audition room."Harriet, come with me."
"What's wrong? Laura, I'm waiting for the audition, and it's my turn soon."
"You don't have to do the audition."
Laura simply handed her a contract, and she said,"The company decided to terminate the contract with you."
"Cancel the contract?"
Harriet's expression changed."Why? I just have signed it for a few days, and I didn't do anything wrong, right?"
"I do not know what is going on but it was the instructions given by the boss himself. The contracts were prepared. It looks like he will not give you any chance. The company will give you compensation and the money will be transferred to your card during these two days. Please sign the contract directly."
"Please..."Harriet was a little overwhelmed by the change."At least you have to tell me why."
Laura looked complicated, and handed her a pen, saying indirectly,"Harriet, just think about who did you offend lately."
Harriet's mind showed Wesley directly.
Who can make her lose her job suddenly except Wesley!
"Laura, I got it."
She took the pen and signed it lightly,"I will not put you in dilemma,. Thank you for your care during this time."
Laura put away the contract."Well, I wish you have a smooth future."
Smooth?
Harriet frowned. She was afraid she couldn't have a good jobs in acting because of Wesley.
Without surprise, no company wanted to sign her once they knew who she was. She went to a few brokerage companies and even the small studios. The results were the same.
Wesley was clearly trying to force her out of the entertainment.
Harriet thought that even she could not be an actress, she still could work in the entertainment industry as there were so many kinds of jobs in one industry.
She could just be a flat model!
When eating at night, Colin added braised pork to her bowl."Enjoy it, Harriet."
Harriet glanced at it with eager but she took braised pork back to Colin's bowl, complaining,"I am on a diet, you should eat it."
"Harriet, you are already slim right now, why you are on diet?"
"I just signed a model company and my weight is now barely up to standards. My colleague ask me to control my weight otherwise it will affect the photos I was shot."
"Harriet, aren't you an actress? Why did you change your job?"
Harriet shrugged pretentiously, blinking,"Acting is too tiring. Being a Model is easier, especially flat model. You can just change clothes and take pictures. Although the money is not as good as the one from acting, it is relatively a comfortable job. You Sister, I am not short of money now. Why should I suffer from being an actress?"
"Is that so?"
Colin glanced under the table and spotted Harriet's red and swollen ankle, frowning for her pain.
Ever since Harriet was a model, she had been worked early from the morning and late at night. She had to stand in high heels for the whole day but her ankles barely could stand it.
She concealed it from Colin, but Colin had seen it several times from the window that she stepped down from the taxi with her high heels on her hands and just stepped on the ground barefoot, tired.
"Harriet, you..."
Before Colin spoke, Harriet phone rang, Harriet glanced at it, and hurriedly swallowed the food in her mouth. She stopped Colin from talking by showing him a hand gesture, pressing down the answer button.
"Hey? Joe."
"..."
"Yes, I took the photo of the swimsuit in the afternoon."
She just finished shooting a set of swimsuit magazine covers in the afternoon which was bold and sexy. She was also paid high because of it.
