Allen took his wife, Sandra, downstairs, and saw Louisa eating fruit in the living room. She kept talking while the young man next to her just sat calmly and listened to her carefully.
"Louisa."Allen said with concern,"You just finished your operation, eat less of these cold fruits. You can drink more nutritious soup later."
"Dad, please do not be so strict as Wesley!"Louisa muttered, came towards her parents."The doctor said that I recovered well and I could eat whatever I wanted."
She coquettishly held her father's hand, but Allen was still showing his rigid face."Well, if you had not be so naughty, would Daddy be serious for you? Even Wesley has to take care of you as much as possible right now!"
Louisa just made faces.
Wesley came over. He looked cold and handsome with one hand in his trousers pocket and a thin smile.
"Uncle Allen."
Allen nodded and said with appreciation,"Louisa's blood type is special. Thank you for finding a friend with the same blood type as her. Give me my gratitude for her."
"No need to do that, Wesley must have given the donor money."Louisa murmured, holding Allen's arm,"Daddy, could you just care about your daughter? Your daughter is hungry right now!"
"Could the money make up for the kidney that saved your life?"Allen sighed and patted his daughter's head."If you encounter the donor in the future, do not forget to thank her, alright?"
Louisa pinched her red lips,"Got it!"
Wesley listened to the conversation and felt a little bit sad and annoyed.
Harriet lost more than one kidney. At the time, she was still pregnant, but had to give up her child because of the surgery. Her body was seriously hurt and maybe it was more than money can make her up.
Sandra changed the topic and asked everyone go to the restaurant for the meal with a smile.
Sandra saw Wesley was slightly disoriented. She asked softly,"What's wrong?"
"It's all right."Wesley pulled up his face and said normally.
Louisa was twenty-two this year, but she was spoiled from an early age. Like a little girl, she wanted to travel to Canada when she was just recovered.
"Isn't this a joke!"Allen couldn't bear to blame her so much for his only daughter."Daddy told the media that there would a birthday party for you and would announce your engagement with Wesley."
"Engagement? No!"Louisa was very unpleasant when she heard the arrangement."I'm only 22, and Wesley is also busy with his company. Let's talk about this in a few years."
Allen's face paled,"Louisa, you can postpone the engagement just because Wesley loves you! it's just an engagement instead of a marriage!"
"I just think that Wesley should take care of his company first!"Louisa said, trying to pull Wesley's hand softly,"Wesley, am I right? The company is most important for you."
"Louisa!"Allen aggravated his tone, and became infuriated.
Wesley and Louisa grew up together. He knew Wesley's indulgence to her. It would be beneficial for them if they got married as Wesley had strong financial resources.
In addition, Wesley was an elite with great admiration from other ladies. He was really afraid that his daughter would lost such a good man.
"I plan to open a branch in Singapore. I do not think I have enough time to prepare for the engagement."Wesley said peacefully,"let's just arrange the birthday party for Louisa first."
Louisa was extremely proud as Wesley was on the same page with her. She grinned at his father,"Dad, you see, Wesley said it himself!"
Allen could just shook his head and agreed to postpone the engagement.
Allen tried to raise the topic of his ex-wife with Sandra while having the dinner, but he decided to talk with her after he settled the two kids.
At this moment, the servant came in hastily, and said in a panic,"Master, Madam, the police just called and said that Assistant Daniel had a car accident..."
