Chapter 30 Stop While I Still Can

Chapter 30 Stop While I Still Can
SIENNA

Lucien dropped me off in front of the house after we left the party. It had been over an hour since the sex ended, but I could still feel all five senses of it. The scent of our cum mixed with our different colognes still lingered in my nose.

My knees shook as I trudged toward the door. I just hoped Angel hadn’t arrived from the dinner party. She would definitely ask where I went, and the last thing I wanted to do after countless rounds of satisfying sex was have a conversation.

I unlocked the door and walked in. Just as I had predicted, she was already back, watching her favorite movie. She tilted her head at the sound of my footsteps.

The moment she saw me, her eyes widened, and she gasped. “Oh my good Lord!” she mumbled, standing up and dropping the bowl of peanuts she was holding. “Oh my fucking fuck!” She sauntered forward. “Even though your makeup is all smudged, you still look so beautiful, Sienna!!!”

I chuckled, trying to steady myself so she wouldn’t notice my steps. “Thank you, Your Highness.”

“This is CL’s design; your jewelry is YL Glitters, and your heels are from Mac—” she gasped. “Oh my God, girl. They are all designer brands. When did you get them?” she mumbled, her eyes scanning me.

“A friend gifted them to me after asking me out on a dinner date.”

She grinned, grabbed my hand, and pulled me to the couch. The burning pain between my legs almost made me cry out, but I held it in. Angel was attentive; it would take her no time to realize what was going on.

“Tell me… Who is this friend? A CEO of a company? An heir to a conglomerate? Tell me, Sienna. I’m so anxious to know who this is because anyone who can afford these brands isn’t a nobody,” she blurted out.

I stared at her like a fool because, obviously, I had no idea what she was talking about. Yes, Lucien brought everything I was wearing, but I never bothered to check their prices. Seeing the way Angel was making a fuss over them, I would definitely check later when I got to the bedroom.

“I… He…” I stuttered, unsure of what excuse to give Angel. I really didn’t want anyone to know about Lucien and me because I was certain whatever was between us was bound to end before it turned into something serious. What the hell was I even thinking? Something serious? I shouldn’t even think of that. Whatever we had was a fling. I was sure of that. And it would surely end soon.

“Talk to me, girl. Who is he?” she urged, smiling and staring into my eyes.

I forced a tight-lipped smile. “I’m sorry. I have to ask if he wants anyone to know about him,” I responded. That was the only convincing reply I could think of, and I just hoped it wouldn’t cause any trouble between us.

“What!” She leaned her head back, her face twitching. “This is my first time hearing this,” she scoffed. “Why? Does he belong to some cult and doesn’t want people to know about him?”

I held her hands. “No, Angel.” I squeezed them gently. “Trust me… You will know who he is at the right time. I just want to be sure about him before letting you know. I’m sorry if this makes you feel bad.”

She chuckled and hit my shoulder. “Don’t be dramatic. You may be my friend, but you have a right to your privacy. I’ll wait till you and this mysterious rich nigga are ready to reveal yourselves,” she said.

“I need to go and take a quick shower. I’m so tired,” I mumbled, standing and walking toward the bedroom. The pain intensified as I stood up. Maybe it was because I had sat too long with Angel, but I held everything in.

As soon as I got into the bedroom, I peeled off the dress and everything else and rushed straight into the bathroom.

By the time I came out, the pain had reduced because of the warm bath. Slipping into my nightdress, I picked up my phone and climbed into bed.

My hands froze when memories from the dinner party rushed in—the way he worshipped my body and left no part untouched, the way he made me feel pleasure in different ways. I didn’t think I would go this far with Lucien. I never wanted to go this far. But it happened. And as we kept getting entangled, I could feel danger looming.

Even if I wanted to sin, I didn’t think he was the right choice. He was my boss. If things stopped working between us today, the company would become an inconvenient and awkward place for me. In the end, I would be the sacrificial lamb because I was the weaker one.

I should stop while I still can. This is wrong. I should stop before he ruins me. I should stop before he makes me sink deeper into sin.
