Chapter 23 Break Up
SIENNA
“How do I survive this, Sienna? I keep getting drawn to you every moment. I’m not sorry to tell you that you’re in trouble because I’m not ready to leave you again. You are mine now, girl.” The message read thus.
A smile absentmindedly spread across my lips after I read the message. This wasn’t the plan. I had never thought of having anything to do with my boss—even before getting married to Ethan. I hated being in a situation like this. What now? I wasn’t even dating him. I was just shamelessly fucking him whenever the opportunity came. I was in an undefined relationship with him. Don’t get me wrong… I wasn’t asking for a defined relationship. I didn’t want anything.
In fact, I wanted to be left alone, but the more I tried to move away, the deeper we became involved. He was gradually becoming a part of me. He was invading my thoughts and disrupting my decisions. I hated that I felt this way about another man after everything Ethan had done. No. I didn’t want to waste my emotions on a man who wasn’t worth it. And Lucian? He didn’t seem like someone who wanted to be serious with anybody. His eyes and demeanor resembled those of a man who always took advantage of his handsome features and family wealth to fuck any woman he wanted. And right now, I could tell he was doing the same with me.
Well, in part, I should be thankful it wasn’t anything serious. I didn’t want to imagine what it would feel like to be chased by the CEO of the company I worked for.
Still, I couldn’t get what he did earlier today out of my head. He created a problem and acted like it was nothing.
Sighing, I flung my phone onto the bed and collapsed onto it, spreading my arms and staring at the ceiling. I finally shut my eyes, shutting out the noise of the world.

“If it were Sienna, she would have done this perfectly without any form of complaint,” Ethan snapped at Bianca as he ran his fingers through his hair. His chest rose and fell as he struggled to steady his breathing.
“What! Have you suddenly realized that Sienna is the wife while I’m just a useless one?” Bianca fired back, her voice firm and unwavering. Her eyes burned with fire and storm.
“All I asked you to do was simple, Bianca—clean the mess that was created. You know very well I did this for you and nobody else,” he spat. “Sienna would have done this without me asking.”
Bianca scoffed and burst into laughter. “This is the funniest statement I’ve heard in my life. I should clean the mess you created? Over my dead body. You disrespected me, Ethan. You don’t get to tell me what to do after showing no regard for me and our relationship,” she blurted, her voice trembling as she spoke about respect and commitment.
Heaving, he clutched his waist and paced around the room. Veins bulged on his skin as anger overwhelmed him. The woman standing before him had changed. This wasn’t the same woman he had brought home.
“Okay, Bianca,” he breathed. “Listen to me.” He tried to touch her, but she stepped back and rolled her eyes. “I know I messed up. I disrespected you and our relationship. I shouldn’t have done what I did,” he admitted. “Can you just help me clean this mess? I’ll never make such a mistake again.”
She snorted. “Funny. You’re a clown, Ethan,” she chuckled. “You wanted to cheat on me, and you couldn’t even choose someone better. You chose a married woman?” She pointed a finger at his face. “A married woman? Now her husband caught you, and you’re looking for an alibi? Trust me, there’s no need to create a fake one… you’ll eventually suffer for your crime,” she hissed. Her lips and hands trembled as emotions consumed her. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead, and her reddened eyes widened.
“You’re acting differently, Bianca. I thought you loved me better than Sienna. She would have cleaned this mess if she were still in my life.”
“I’m not Sienna!” she barked, lifting her gaze to his. “Don’t compare me to your foolish ex-wife. If she was stupid enough to do such things for you, then I’m not stupid enough to do them.” She paused briefly. “What now?” Her lips twitched. “Do you love Sienna now and want her back as your wife? Have you realized that I’m no better than her? In fact, I’m worse than her?”
Ethan couldn’t respond. His jaw slackened as he stared at the woman before him. She had changed. Before he divorced his wife, Bianca used to take care of him and treat him like he was the only thing that mattered. He had been sure she loved him more than Sienna ever did and would do anything to keep him. What changed? Was he asking for too much, or was she just being unreasonable?
“You’ll regret this, Bianca!” he spat, pointing at her.
She giggled. “It’s funny that you think I’d stay with you after finding out you cheated on me.”
Ethan’s eyes widened. “What? What do you mean?”
“Let’s break up, Ethan. I can’t deal with a cheater like you.”
“What! Bianca, what have I done? I haven’t even done something that bad.”
She snorted. “You think it’s not a big deal because your ex-wife tolerated it.” She stepped closer, pulled the promise ring off her finger, and shoved it against his chest. “Sorry to disappoint you, Ethan. I’m not your ex-wife, Sienna. I’m Bianca, and my biggest deal breaker is cheating.”
She didn’t wait for his response. She walked to the door. “You can send my belongings to me if you want. And if you don’t, you can keep them for your next wife… the one that would be stupid enough to accept your cheating and unruly behavior.” She opened the door and slammed it shut behind her.
He stared at the door long after she was gone. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. Everything moved so fast it felt unreal. He truly didn’t think he had done something unforgivable.
Fine. he made a mistake. It was bad, but not unforgivable. He remembered how Sienna had begged him to take her back even after catching him cheating with her best friend.
Why did Bianca leave over one mistake?
Sienna would have stayed, he thought.
