Chapter 22 Her Danger
SIENNA
Bangs hit the door, interrupting us and dragging me back to reality. I almost shouted when I realized where I was. I had really just had sex in the bathroom… and for the first time, I had to shamelessly admit that I actually enjoyed it.
“The door seems locked from the inside. Do you think somebody is in there?” I heard voices, followed by more banging. I didn’t need to be told there were people trying to use the bathroom outside. What the hell?
Heat crawled up my neck and face. When I lifted my gaze to Lucian—the orchestrator of this whole mess—he merely shrugged, his expression indifferent. His nonchalance stirred anger inside me.
“What do we do?” I asked, sliding off the vanity and adjusting my dress. My heart skipped every time the door was hit. The thought of facing people after everything I’d done in here terrified me and made my skin crawl.
“What do you mean?” His brows creased. “Let’s go if you’re done,” he added. I stared at him for a few seconds, then scoffed.
“Are you doing this intentionally, or do you really not know what’s happening?”
“Is there something I need to know?” he asked.
“There are people trying to get in, and there’s no way they won’t assume we did something if we step out like this,” I said, hoping he’d finally grasp the gravity of the situation.
“There’s nothing wrong with assuming what actually happened.”
I snorted. What the hell was he doing? How could he be so shameless? Would he really face the people outside like this? Oh my God. I felt like my skin would be peeled off by their probing eyes if I stepped out.
How could he act like he hadn’t just created a problem for me? If he hadn’t followed me into the bathroom, I wouldn’t be in this situation.
Before I could say anything, the door swung open and women rushed in. When they saw us, they hissed and hurried into the stalls.
Without saying a word, I bolted out of there. I wished the ground would split open and swallow me whole. The embarrassment would stay with me forever, and it was all because of Lucian. If only he hadn’t followed me into the bathroom.
Back in the club, my eyes scanned the place for Angel. After seconds of aimless searching, I finally spotted her in a corner, dancing on a man’s lap. She was smiling, her head swaying side to side like she was drunk.
Biting my lower lip, I rushed over and grabbed her wrist. “We need to leave right now, Angel,” I said, my eyes darting around. The women who had seen me in the bathroom with Lucian could come back and might decide to attack me for almost making them wet while I got fucked inside.
“Hey, Sienna! You’ve been in the bathroom forever. Did something happen in there?” she asked, chuckling. Angel was tipsy—it showed in her constant laughter and unsteady movements.
“Nothing happened, Angel. But we need to leave right now.” I tugged at her, but she yanked her hand from my grip.
“What do you mean? We just got here, and the fun has barely started. Why are we going home suddenly? I thought you were enjoying yourself,” she said, her eyes studying me suspiciously.
“Nothing, Angel. I just feel sleepy, and you know it’s wrong to fall asleep in a place like this. That would be humiliating for you.”
“Oh! Okay. I’ll pardon you since it’s your first time here. Let’s go home.” She finally agreed, and I let out a long breath.
As we headed out, my eyes roamed the entire place. Inwardly, I prayed none of the women would spot me again. Before stepping outside, I searched the crowd for Lucian. That bastard. He was probably somewhere enjoying himself after the trouble he’d caused me.

When we got home, Angel went straight to the bathroom to take a cold shower. By the time she came out, she was visibly better and less drunk.
“Tell me, Sienna. Did something happen in the bathroom?” she asked, making my heart stutter. Just when I thought the topic was over.
My cheeks flushed, and my neck burned. “What’s happening? Why are your ears red? I only asked a question,” she muttered, leaning back. “Wait! Don’t tell me you had a one-night stand—”
Before she could finish, I sprang up and snapped at her. “Get that dirty thought out of your head! What do you mean by a one-night stand? Never! I’m not that cheap to indulge in such an act.” My voice trembled as I defended myself, falsely. I avoided meeting her eyes.
Angel’s suspicious gaze lingered on me before she chuckled. “You don’t need to take it so seriously. I was just joking,” she said, squeezing my hands. “Tell me, did you enjoy clubbing tonight? Is it still overrated after finally experiencing it?”
If she could hear my thoughts, she would’ve heard the sigh of relief I let out when she changed the topic. That was all I wanted. Talking about the bathroom might expose the secret I was desperately trying to keep hidden.
“It was fun,” I replied as I headed toward the bathroom. “I just don’t think I’ll be going again,” I added.
Not because it wasn’t fun, but because I was afraid I’d run into Lucian again, and the same mistake might repeat itself.
Once inside the bathroom, I turned on the shower and stood beneath it, letting the water pour over my head. Lucian’s face flashed through my mind. He was dangerous, and getting tangled with him would only put me at risk. Yet there was something about him. He had made the hardest part of my divorce feel effortless. I wasn’t even as heartbroken as I thought I’d be. The way he quietly erased Ethan from my thoughts unsettled me. Who was he? And what had he done to me? Why did I feel different every time I was around him?
It wasn’t love—there was no way I could fall in love so easily after everything that had happened with Ethan.
After what felt like forever, I finished my shower and stepped out. Thankfully, Angel had already fallen asleep. I was sure she’d dozed off while waiting to interrogate me further.
I went to my bedroom. My phone chimed the moment I stepped inside. Picking it up, I checked the message.
For a few seconds, I stared at the screen, unsure how to react.
I hadn’t expected a message from him.
