Chapter 45 Friendship Feud

Chapter 45 Friendship Feud
Gina’s mouth opened and close, not a single word coming out of it.

As if to come to her rescue, Celia quickly hurried to the scene, a mocking smile gracing her lips.

‘’And how are you supposed to pay for it? Your daughter got a death insurance too?’’

Elizabeth clenched her fist tightly, drawing blood.

Gina who had once been speechless now chuckled, her hand clutching her flat belly.

Elizabeth grind her teeth as she watched them laugh, anger settling in her heart.

She had always seen them as her friend.

She even went as far as telling them about her husband’s life insurance. And how she was going to use it to make their rivals jealous.

They had been so supportive then, rooting for her and praying her husband died early.

Just a few months of being in a vulnerable position and they had already started to see her as someone below them.

Her chest constricted just by staring at them.

She undid her grip on her fist, a new found mission settling in her mind.

‘’How about I pay thrice?’’ She asked, staring at the sales person with a sly smirk on her lips.

The sales person paused, confused.

She was not sure accepting the offer would be a great thing. Moreover with the way this women spoke of the other woman, it showed that she couldn’t afford to pay for the dress.

She was just a sham wrapped up in cheap designers.

However, if her guts were wrong, then she would have lost a chance at securing a big promotion from the higher ups.

She fiddled with her dress, her eyes darting between Elizabeth and Gina.

‘’I’m sorry I can’t give you the dress. This lady already picked it first.’’ She replied politely, deciding to follow the code of conducts instead.

Moreover, Gina was a VIP customer who frequented their boutique from time to time.

If she was even a little offended by their services, the complaints would be relayed to the management within minutes.

And she couldn’t afford for her job to be on the line over some friendship feud.

Elizabeth nodded her head, smiling wickedly.

‘’With just one phone call, I can get you fired.’’ She uttered, making the sales girl pause.

Her polite facade dropped, replaced with an air of defiance.

‘’Excuse me?!’’ She asked, anger blooming through her.

Celia nudged at Gina, smiling brightly as they stared on at the scene.

Gina chuckled inwardly, gripping the dress in her arms tightly.

She’d only came for some night shopping. Who knew she’d go home with a full bag and a full heart?

She walked towards the couch and plopped on it, her eyes never leaving Elizabeth and the sales girl.

‘’You are excused young lady. Call your manager.’’ Elizabeth muttered, crossing her arms against her chest.

The sales lady eyed her like she had lost a few screws in her head.

When she first saw her come in that door, she had thought she was one of those rich elites.

Now, she realized that Elizabeth was a mad woman who was fortunate to pick elites scraps.

She placed her hands closed to her pants pocket in a threatening stance.

Elizabeth stared at it.

A stun gun.

Was she trying to shoot her with it?

She chuckled at the lady’s naivety.

‘’Don’t worry I’m not here for you. Just give me that dress, I’ll pay three times the normal price and leave quietly.’’ She said, dropping her hands by her side.

Her eyes had already left the sales lady, now gazing intently at Gina.

Gina corked her a pair of white teeth.

‘’If you don’t leave now, I’m calling security.’’ The sales lady said again, her hands now reaching for the walkie-talkie at her right pants pocket.

Elizabeth ignored her.

She turned around and walked out of the VIP room, making Gina and Celia smile widely.

Who knew she’d give up so easily?

Elizabeth had never been a quitter. But of course she was broke so she couldn’t afford to lose face.

They laughed, getting back to their shopping.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s heels now clicked on the floor lightly as she headed for the manager’s office.

There was a restriction notice just outside of the door leading to the office.

But of course Elizabeth wasn’t paying attention.
Or she just chose to ignore.

She walked up to the reception table just outside of the office, her fingers drumming against the desk.

‘’I would like to see the manager.’’

The receptionist eyed her, taking in her luxurious attire.

‘’Do you have an appointment?’’ She asked, her hands hovering over the keyboard.

‘’I don’t need one. Tell him a VVIP customer is here.’’ She uttered, making the lady eye her once again.

But then she reached for the intercom and buzzed it, relaying Elizabeth’s message to the manager.

Within minutes, the manager came out of his office, his forehead knotted as he stared at Elizabeth.

He knew all his VVIP customers. And she didn’t look like one.

‘’Can I help you?’’ He asked, eyeing her from head to toe.

‘’No. But I can help you not get sacked.’’ Gigi answered, eyeing him from head to toe too.

He looked unkept, unfit for a manager of a high end boutique.

His gaze swept her once more, clouded with judgement and confusion.

‘’What do you mean by that?’’ He asked, anger starting to settle.

‘’I’ll show you what I mean.’’ Elizabeth murmured, retrieving her phone from her purse.

She dialed Gigi’s number, murmuring something to her before hanging up.

Seconds later, the telephone on top of the receptionist desk started to ring.

The receptionist picked it up, shock plastered across her face.

‘’It’s for you.’’ She whispered, stretching the phone in the manager’s direction.

The managers head furrowed as he walked towards her, pressing the phone to his ear.

Beads of cold sweat poured down his head as he listened to the receiver, his eyes darting to Elizabeth from time to time.

‘’Okay!’’ He replied again, hanging up the phone.
He stood, silent for a while before turning back to Elizabeth.

A smile broke out on his lips as he approached her, an apologetic expression plastered on his face.

‘‘I’m so sorry I didn’t recognize you sooner.’’ He said, taking her hands in his gently.

He corked a eye in the receptionist direction and she nodded quickly, bringing out a card.

Taking it, he passed it to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth stared at it, a happy expression on her face as she saw that it was a VVIP card to the boutique.

What a lucky girl Gigi was!

‘’Is there something else you want?’’ The manager asked, staring up at her.

‘’Yes.’’ She responded, slipping the card into her purse.

‘’May I know what that might be? We would make sure to do anything you ask.’’ He replied, shining his teeth.

‘’Of course. I just need a dress from one of your VIP customers. And…..’’ She drawled, smirking evilly.

‘’To sack one of your employees.’’
