Chapter 44 I Fucked Your Wife

Chapter 44 I Fucked Your Wife
‘’What?!’’ Cleo shouted, disbelief clouding his feutures.

‘’You need to reconsider Mr Don. Our comapany standard matches yours. And you know that.’’ He continued, shuffling with the helm of his suit from time to time.

Alex eyed him.

‘’I would get back to you both.’’ Don Davis uttered, disappointed still plastered on his face.

He picked up his suitcase and walked towards the exit, slamming the door behind him.

The room went quiet.

‘’You—

Alex interrupted Cleo’s next word, pulling him outside.

Away from the team members.

‘’What the fuck is wrong with you?’’ He asked, his jaws clenched tightly. Like he hated the fact that he had to do what he was doing.

‘’Piss off!’’ Cleo screamed, turning around.

But Alex stepped in front of him, blocking his way.

‘’I’m not joking Cleo! What is wrong with you? Are you broke or something?’’ He asked, his voice lowering a bit as worry started to set in.

‘’What do you care? Do I look broke to you?’’ Cleo retorted, anger surging through him.

His eyes was bloodshot, his anger directed to Alex.

‘’You’re ticking.’’ Alex uttered, scratching the back of his head.

Fustration clung to him as he stepped closer to Cleo, towering over him a little.

‘’If you need help—‘’

‘’I fucked your wife motherfucker!’’ Cleo screamed, stepping backwards.

His voice broke, his eyes red like he was on the verge of tears.

Alex stepped closer. ‘’Ex-wife.’’ He murmured.

‘’Fuck you!’’ Cleo muttered, heading back into the room.

He picked up his suitcase and left the room, his team mates trailing behind him as they headed for their ride.

Alex exhaled sharply, unclasping his grasp on his arm.

He was tired of the back and forth.

He didn’t want it anymore.

After what Don Davis had said, he realized he didn’t even hate Cleo as he thought he did.

Maybe it was because he was over Stella now.

Or because he realized that he never asked his bestfriend what really happened before jumping into conclusions.

He walked back to the private room. ‘’Let’s go.’’

Anna stared up at him, feeling the coldness seeping off him.

She quickly gathered the files off the table, following behind him.
_______

Cleo sat at the back of the car, anger brooding through him.

‘’Get the fuck out!’’ He screamed, making his teammates jump back in shock.

They slipped out of the car, watching it speed off.
Inside, Cleo’s face was now resting on his palms.

‘’Fuck! Fuck!! Fuck!!!’’ He screamed, punching the back of the driver’s seat.

The driver who was already used to his boss’s antics tried to steady himself, driving into oblivion.

Cleo whimpered, tears falling off his eyes.

He gripped the seat tightly, his eyes bloodshot as he tried to hold in his outburst.

All this years, he’d blame himself for ruining his friendship with Alex.

He had learned to live with that ache.

But now, Alex was acting like he didn’t care anymore.

Like he wasn’t bothered by what happened.

That alone was the reason for his crash out.

He sniffled, wiping the tears off his eyes.

‘’To the manor.’’

The driver nodded, speeding off the the requested destination.

Meanwhile, back in New York City, Elizabeth clutched the gurney with a smile on her face.

They had succeeded in transferring marissa to a better hospital.

Her phone dinged, diverting her attention from marissa.

She placed it to her ear, her smile widening.

‘’Oh Jeffery.’’ She uttered, placing the phone on the bed.

She put it on speaker phone, Jeffery’s voice blooming from the other side.

‘’Mother! I’m on my way to the hospital.’’ He said, making happiness bloom through Elizabeth.

She couldn’t wait for Marissa to wake up so she could get married to jeffery as soon as possible.

The two had always been inlove anyways.

‘’Did you get the investment money?’’ She asked

‘’Yes I did! I’ll definitely be getting lots of things on my way.’’ He uttered, his voice laced with joy.

Elizabeth chuckled. ‘’There’s no need for that. I’m thinking of going shopping anyways.’’ She uttered, different thoughts filling her head.

Ever since marissa was plunged into a coma, she had been getting bashed by her friends for being broke.

Now that she had money, she couldn’t wait to flaunt it in their faces. And she knew just how to do that.

‘’Alright!’’ Jeffery replied, hanging up the phone.
Elizabeth stood up, heading out to call a nurse.

‘’My son-in-law would be here in a few minutes. Stay with my daughter while I’m away.’’ She uttered, passing a few bills to the nurse.

The nurse happily took it, tucking it in her pocket.

With raised shoulders, Elizabeth made her way to the exit of the hospital.

She called a cab, regretting the fact that she didn’t ask Alex mother to buy her a car.

She knew Gigi would have stupidly done it in a heartbeat.

‘’Stop.’’ She uttered, passing a few bills to the cab driver.

She slipped out of the car, heading into the boutique.

It was 7pm. Of course her ‘friends’ would be shopping right now.

They used to go night shopping all the time.

But ever since she went broke, they had stopped inviting her out.

She walked into the boutique, her kneels clicking against the floor softly.

She’d make sure to get the same replica of Gigi’s fur clothing, making her exude an exquisitely rich aura.

Immediately the sales representatives sighted her, they headed towards her.

‘’I’ll be your sales representative. Is there anything you want?’’ The lady hurriedly said, reaching for Elizabeth’s fur coat.

‘’Don’t touch it.’’ Elizabeth scolded, making the lady frown.

But she masked her expression with a smile, ushering Elizabeth into the VIP room.

The room where her friends were dining, moving in and out of the dressing room with expensive clothing.

‘’Is that Elizabeth?’’ Celia asked, jabbing Gina by the side of the ribs.

Gina stared up, her eyes widening as she realized it was indeed Elizabeth.

She snickered, clicking her tongue. ‘’Obviously trying to act rich. We both know were the fake life took her daughter to.’’ She replied, chuckling.

Elizabeth payed them no heed. ‘’I want that.’’ She said, pointing to a dress that was sitting on Gina’s laps.

Gina frowned.

‘’She already picked that ma’am. Is there something else you would like?’’ The sale person replied, giving Elizabeth an apologetic look.

A smile curled up Gina’s lips.

‘’There’s only one in the whole of New York. Do you even know how much it costs?’’ She snickered, jumping to her feet.

Her steps were light, slow, as she headed for Elizabeth with mockery written all over her face.

‘’You can barely afford your daughter’s hospital bill.’’ She muttered, making Elizabeth clench her fist tightly.

She suppressed the urge to pounce on her, turning her head to the sales person instead. ‘’I’ll pay double for that dress.’’
