Chapter 43 Alex Choice In Women

Chapter 43 Alex Choice In Women
Gigi stepped away with a smirk on her face, waiting for Elizabeth’s response.

Elizabeth stared at her, her face going from shock to surprise.

She stepped forward, finally realizing what was at play.

‘’And what do I get in return?’’ She asked, tilting her head defiantly.

Her shoulders that were once sagged in defeat now rose up, taking it’s place Untop of the food chain.

‘’Depends on how big what you have on her is.’’ Gigi said, crossing her arms against her chest.

Elizabeth smirked.

She placed her hands into her purse and pulled out her phone, scrolling through it.

After a while, she turned her phone towards Gigi, giving her a sneak peek into her cards on Anna.

Gigi’s eyes widened, shock and excitement evident in them.

She tried to reach for the phone but Elizabeth pulled it away, chuckling as she placed it back in her purse.

‘’So what can you give me in return?’’ She asked, a victorious smirk on her lips as she stared at Gigi’s expression.

‘’I can take your daughter to a better hospital. Invest in your son-in-law’s business and buy you a new house.’’ She said, making Elizabeth’s eyes go wide.

Was a leverage on Anna really worth all that?!

Regardless, she stretched her hands, demanding for Gigi’s phone.

Gigi unlocked her phone, passing it to her.

‘’I want more than just the video being transferred. I want every copy of it. And most especially, I want it deleted from your phone. Also…you should probably delete the fake timer you sent to your daughter. Because we both know you don’t have access to my son’s business line. Talk less of his private line.’’ She said, squinting her eyes at Elizabeth.

She hasn’t realized how dumb Anna was until she asked for her help last night.

Why and how would anyone be privy to Alex’s private line?

She mentally facepalmed at Alex choice In women.

Elizabeth smirked as she realized she’d been found out.

She had also not expected Anna to fall for it.

But after she sent a message about sending the money, she immediately came to the conclusion that Anna had been caught in her web.

What a naive girl she was!

‘’So you were indeed sent by Anna.’’ Elizabeth chuckled, transferring the video to Gigi.

She slipped her hand into her purse and brought out a chip. ‘’The original.’’ She uttered, waving it in the air.

‘’Send the money you promised. And it’ll be yours.’’ Elizabeth uttered, smirking evilly.

Alex mother couldn’t have thought she was stupid could she?

She didn’t have plans of handing anything over until she knew that her daughter was well sorted out.

Gigi frowned, tapping at her phone.

Within seconds, Elizabeth’s phone dinged and she checked it, her eyes widening in shock.

‘’Money for your daughter’s bill and a transfer to a better hospital. The money for a new house is also included. Once you give me the original copy, I’ll make the transfer to your son-in-law’s company.’’ Gigi said, stretching her hands out for the chip.

Without batting an eye, Elizabeth placed it in her hands, envy clouding her feutures.

She wished she was in Gigi’s position, having that much money to look glittery and sit pretty all day.

She bit back a jealous retort, forcing a sly smirk on her lips.

‘’Nice doing business with you.’’ She uttered, plopping back in her seat next to her daughter.

‘’Nice doing business with you too!’’ Gigi uttered, turning away from Elizabeth.

Her heels clicked softly against the floor, the sound drowned out by the noisy chatters of the occupants.

Immediately she stepped out of the room, her high shoulders sagged, her confident expression faltering.

She took off her heels, gazing from side to side.

Before hopping down the stairs, a new found pain shooting up her legs.

She was definitely ending up in a hospital after all this stress.

Suing the hospital would be pointless. The management was probably too broke to appear in court.

She clutched the railings tightly, wincing and cursing as she finally got to the foot of the stairs.

Meanwhile…in the private meeting room back in Venezuela, Anna smiled despite the chilly ambience of the room.

The timer had suddenly disappeared at the nick of time.

Just when she thought Alex mother had failed her, it turned out she didn’t.

Maybe she wasn’t such a bad person..

She bit back a victorious chuckle as she constructed a thank you message to Gigi.

She hit send, happiness flooding through her as she could finally focus on the pitch.

She stared up, her eyes trailing from Alex to Cleo.

It was almost about an hour or two since they stepped forward for the presentation.

And they were still going at it.

Her eyes snapped from them to the other team members in the room.

They were all looking drowsy, their eyes unfocused as they struggled to pay attention to both men.

Even the investor who had looked thrilled during the start of the presentation now looked like he had made a terrible mistake.

‘’Stop!’’ He uttered, not being able to take it anymore.

Both their eyes snapped to him, confusion plastered across their faces.

‘’I have somewhere else to be. I’ll definitely reach out to you both later.’’ He uttered hurriedly, gathering his things.

With a snap of his fingers, the lights came back on, illuminating the room again.

Cleo stalked towards him, panick now replaced on his face. ‘’I don’t understand Mr Don. We are not past the presentation time.’’

Alex nodded, coming up beside Cleo.

It was the first time they ever agreed to something.

Cleo stared at him, old memories flooding his head.

He frowned, taking it all off his head.

‘’According to your assistant, your schedule has been cleared for the whole day. I don’t understand!’’ He continued.

Don Davis smiled bitterly, placing his folders back on the desk.

‘’I thought you both were the best in the business.’’ He uttered, staring at both of them in disappointment.

The other team members were now wide awake, their legs tethered to the ground as they stared at Mr Don perplexed.

They could all agree that the presentation was already getting messy with a few hitches here and there. But still…

‘’This is not what I expected when I called you both in for the deal. I expected team work, mutual respect and dedication. But all I see is… A total mess!’’ He huffed.

‘’I think I was not properly informed about the way Gritz firm and Shane LTD operated. I had been quick to jump into conclusions based off rumors.’’ He continued shaking his head.

Alex cleared his throat clearly offended by the older man’s words.

‘’So what are you trying to say?’’

Don Davis paused, his silence stopping the heartbeat of the people in the room.

‘’I’m calling off the deal.’’
