Chapter 32 Chapter 32

Chapter 32 Chapter 32
Amil's POV

Watching Draven basically go up in flames when his brother mentioned Silas coming after me. Was something I never expected.

I tried to calm him down by touching him, but his skin was so hot, I burned my fingers before I could even get close to touching him.

His body immediately cooled down when I flinched back. The rage in his green eyes instantly turned to worry and he gently took my hands in his and looked at them, apologizing.

"I'm okay. My hands will heal. Are you okay? I've, never seen you get that pissed off before." I will admit, I got a little scared.

How could I not? The rage made his green eyes have a red tent to them. His snake tattoo on his arm looked like it was moving. I worried he might burst into flames if I didn't at least try to calm him down.

"This is, the third time he's threatened to hurt you, if I don't do something. I won't hurt you. Never again. He will have to pry you from my cold dead hands before he can even try to lay a finger on you and our unborn child."

Is it, bad that I love how possessive he is? My face heats up and I suddenly feel embarrassed with everyone around hearing him say that.

Orla starts crying her little lungs out then and Eryx tries to get up but Mael stops him. "Rest, my love, I will take care of her." He says as Eryx smiles up at him tiredly.

It must hurt Mael to see his mate looking so exhausted. When he makes sure Eryx won't get up again, he goes to their room and I swear my heart hurt with how hard she's crying.

I know Yari, Orion, Remus, and Taliesin wanted to go help him. I guess, even as men, we have that same motherly instinct that women have when they have their children. Even Arvan and Atreus were on edge.

She sounded like she was in pain and I wanted so badly to hold her, but we all knew Mael had her.

When Mael came into the room with her. She was sleeping peacefully in his arms as he sat on the floor in front of Eryx. And that was when all of the kids ran into the room calling for their fathers. I guess that means nap time is over.

Yari and Remus tried to keep their sons from running around the room as Taliesin's daughter sat quietly in his lap playing with her little teddy bear. And suddenly, I felt alone.

Seeing all these little babies here. Makes me wish this pregnancy would hurry up and I could hold my own little baby. I never, thought I would want a baby this bad.

I also never thought I would see Atreus looking so sad, seeing all the happy smiles and hearing the thump of little feet running around the room and the sound of soft giggles filling the air.

Then again, he still doesn't think he deserves to be with anyone. Xander looks uncomfortable, like he feels like he doesn't belong here.

Now I know why Draven hates Silas so much. He's done so much damage to all three of them, that they keep their distance from everyone.

Yes, Draven has let me in a lot, but I think he's still keeping his distance from me. Because he's still scared I'll leave him. He doesn't have to say it. I can see it in the way he looks at me and the way he never wants to leave my side for longer than five minutes.

In the way he holds me while we're sleeping.

"What should we do? We can't let Silas come here. Not when there are so many children here." Xander finally spoke up as he looked at both Draven and I.

"I'm going to set up a barrier. We focus on keeping the kids safe no matter what. They will be our top priority." Draven said and he looked at me. The look in his eyes told me exactly what he wanted to say.

"I'll stay here with them. My powers are becoming weak anyway, so there's not much I can do. The only thing I'm worried about, is losing control of my strength."

"Wait, what do you mean your powers are weakening?" Eryx asks as he walks up to me. He looks so tired, and now that I look closer, Mael also looks exhausted.

"Eryx, you shouldn't be standing. Not when you're so exhausted." Mael tried to get him to sit back down, but he refused.

"I'm fine. I will live. If his powers are weakening, there is something wrong. As a light elf, I can tell when powers like his have become unstable."

"Now that I think about it, I have noticed a shift in the air around him." Arkin said, as he walked over to me and they both looked over me.

Eryx hummed, looking like he just figured out what was wrong. "The pregnancy is going too fast. Disrupting the natural flow of your powers. Usually, it takes a full two weeks for the fetus to fully start to form. You might not look like you are, but from what I can tell. You're at least a month and a half."

"Fuck," Draven curses under his breath as he covers his mouth to keep the kids from hearing him.

"So, what does that mean?" Xander asked.

"It means, that he has less than nine months for the baby to be born. If it keeps this pace, he might have the baby in the next five months or so." Arkin answered. His storm cloud colored eyes full of worry.

Arkin is a storm elf, but like all elves, he can sense a change in the air around someone if their magic becomes unstable even slightly. Remus also comes up to me. Having a light elf, storm elf, and a dark elf surround me, makes me a little uneasy.

"I knew something about you was different, I just couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe, the three of us should watch him closely, just to make sure nothing bad happens." Remus suggests, looking at Eryx and Arkin.

The two elves look at each other before looking back at him, nodding. "I think that is best. I do believe it's because he's a Hero that the pregnancy is going faster than it should." Eryx concludes.

"That could be it, but it might be because the gods are worried what Silas might do if Amil is left alone." Arkin says thoughtfully.

"Atreus, did Silas say when he was coming?" Draven asks his brother.

His brother shakes his head, "No, he just said he was coming. I have no idea when. What about you, Xander?"

"I have nothing. But, knowing him, it could be at any time. For all we know, he could be on his way here as we speak."

Suddenly, the air around us felt grim. The children must have noticed the air change because they looked up at their fathers, worry and curiosity crossing their adorable features.

Fuck.
