Alpha Derick's POV

I watched her ran kisses all over Spanky like she was a lost pet whom she missed so much. I stared at Tony who glared at me before we both stared at Olivia who realized what she was doing and quickly stopped.

''I'm so sorry.'' She apologized as she ran her fingers on Spanky's body.

''I'm a pet lover and especially rabbits.'' She replied with a soft chuckle and kept Spanky on the floor. I stared at her and wondered if Spanky recognizes her as someone who is a rabbit lover, or maybe he felt she was Victoria, just the same way my wolf mistook her.

She caught my gaze and quickly looked away while she went back to the couch and fixed her gaze on the laptop.

''Mate!'' My wolf whispered again

''You are wrong, she can't be Victoria.'' I responded, but he groaned in disagreement.

''I can't mistake her for anyone.'' He said those words firmly which made me glare at Olivia but quickly shook my head.

''She is nothing like Victoria and besides, if she is really Victoria, then why is she this way and why would she hide her identity from me.'' I grumbled those words to my wolf, who groaned and shut himself away from me.

Tiredly, I sat behind my desk and picked up my iPad.

''Any news?'' I directed those words to Anthony, who rapidly stood to his feet.

''We are sending the email to the new investigator, and alpha Lin was on the line.''

''Bastard. I believe he must have heard the news that she is alive, now everyone would know I wasn't insane when I insisted she was still alive.'' I uttered in relief and relaxed my back on my seat and went into profound thought, wondering where she was and what has become of her. There were so many things I needed to say to her, but I really want to tell her that I love her and asked her to marry me. Sighing heavily, I moved my gaze and settled it on Olivia, who was busy with the papers in her hand while her eyes were focused on the screen of the laptop.

She was indeed beautiful, her appearance would make anyone drool, including me, but I sighed and looked away. I have a mate whom I deeply love.

''Get me a cup of coffee.'' I said those words to no one in particular, but she hastily stood on her feet.

''Stay, I'll do it, later I'll show you how his coffee is being made.'' Anthony said those words and left the room, while she nodded her head and took her seat.

An awkward silence filled the room and I decided to clear the air, so I brought up a discussion.

''Are you done with the mail.'' I asked.

''I'm almost done.'' She replied with her head down, staring right at the screen of the laptop. I nodded my head and gently caressed my beards before returning to work.

''You must have loved this woman.'' Those words from her made me put up my eyebows and stared at her with a confused look.

''I mean your mate, you must have truly loved her.'' She spoke up for clarification.

''Love, I still love her.'' I spoke sincerely and met gaze with her. Surprisedly she held my gaze for a while before looking away.

''I see.'' She murmured in doubt, which got me curious.

''You don't believe me.'' I asked as I placed my elbows on my desk and settled my gaze on her.

''Of course not…why would I think that.'' She spoke with a nervous chuckle and moved her attention back to the laptop, but Her reply did not satisfy me.

''You doubt me?'' I asked

''Is there a reason for me to?'' She asked while her eyes were still fixed on the screen of the laptop

''Why would you even doubt that.'' I asked as I left my seat and stood before her. I placed my two hands on my desk and sat on the edge of my desk

''Is this because of what happened yesterday.'' I inquired as I recalled the intoxicating scent coming from her. The same scent of nutmeg mixed with honey, which made me wonder how two persons could have the same scent and Aura.

''No, this has nothing to do with what happened yesterday, I was just trying to have a conversation with you…'' She paused and nervously licked her lower lips which awaken a desire in me

''I'm sorry if I said anything to upset you.'' She apologized with her head down.

''It's okay. Get back to work.'' She nodded her head to my words and went back to work, while I walked back to my seat and picked up my iPad.

We both worked in total silence, while my Wolf kept murmuring in my head, which I totally ignored.

The door opened and Anthony walked in with three cups of coffee on a tray.

''There is a problem.'' He muttered out as he drops my cup of coffee on my desk

''What's it.'' I asked as I dropped the iPad on the desk and focused my attention on him.

''The werewolves just called for an urgent meeting.'' Tony announced

''And so?'' I asked with a hefty sigh while showing signs of not interested in whatever he has to say. Since the incident of Victoria I have down the request of meeting with the wolverines, neither do I attend meetings nor gatherings.

''There is a problem.'' He grumbled with a frown which got me worried

''Has Victoria been found by them.'' I asked frightened

''No, far from that.''

''Then what is it, why are you so worked up.'' I asked

''The vampires…'' He paused and stared at Olivia before glancing back at me.

''What is…'' He did not let me finish, before he cut in

''The vampires just declared war, and it's a week from today.'' He spoke in a worried tone.

''Shit!'' I blurted out and fell on my back as I collapsed on my seat.

''This is terrible.'' I groaned and tiredly massaged my forehead, trying to process what I just heard.

''The wolverines just called for a meeting, and they really beg for you to come.'' Tony announced, while I grunted and picked up the cup of coffee from my table, and took a long sip of it.

''Would you go for the meeting?''Tony asked while I drifted into deep thought.

''The gathering is being held here.'' Tony announced After several minutes of silence.

''Pricks.'' I grunted out. It was obvious they really wanted me to attend.

''When is the gathering.'' I asked

''Tomorrow morning by 10 am.'' I nodded my head to his words and stood to my feet. I moved to the window and stood by it as I went into deep thought.

I knew why they really needed me, and I will be there, but I won't heed to their request.

''Alpha Eric.'' I heard the voice of alpha Timothy in my head and quickly responded

''I can hear you.''

''Have you heard the news.'' He asked in a worried tone

''Yeah, it is obvious the prophecy is really coming to pass.'' I murmured

''What are you going to do.''he asked

''Nothing.'' I spoke nonchalantly and dip my hands in the pocket of my pants.

''But you are an alpha, you can't just sit and watch your people die.'' He groaned

''Let's see at the gathering, I have things to do ''I ended the mind Link with those words and turned around.

''I've been trying to get to Nora, but she has refused giving me a response, go to her and bring her here.'' I said those words to Tony, who nodded his head and left.

With a soft sigh, I turned to the window and peeped through it while I stared at Agora town worriedly.

If the fight happens then things will never be the same, I was terrified but not for myself, I was just scared for my people and feared what will be their fate.

''I wish you were here,'' I whispered to myself as the thought of Victoria filled my thought.

''Are you scared.'' Olivia spoke behind me which made me turned around and met her standing an inch apart from me.

''Mine!'' My wolf howled in my head which made me sighed and held her gaze

''Do I look scared to you.'' I asked

''Yes, you are scared but not for yourself.'' She replied and took a step closer.

''If only she was here, things would have been a lot easier for us, but you guys decided to betray her and buried your kind alive.'' She spoke in a calm voice, but one could notice the anger in her voice.

''We?'' I asked with confused eyebrows. Judging from her statement it was obvious she thinks I also have a hand in Victoria's supposed death which was ridiculous.

''You think I gave my consent for her to be buried alive.'' I asked with shock.

''Did you?'' She asked with raised eyebrows, which made me groaned and moved toward her. Out of impulse, I grabbed her arms and made her stare directly at my face.

''I love that woman, you don't know how much I love that woman because if you do, then you will never have such a thought in your head.'' I yelled in anger, but the next words from her stunned me.

''Then why did you deceive her and handed her over to the wolverines.'' She yelled in rage and loosened my grips on her.
