Chapter 83 Finding Lucian
Rave looked at Lucian and it felt like the best opportunity of her life had made its way into her hands.
If Hazel wasn't going to give her the orb willingly, then, she would have no option but to forcefully take it away from her.
With that in her mind, she immediately picked him up and dashed out through the window again.
Before any of Hazel's men could even notice her, she was far gone and the only thing left was the feathers of a raven on the bed as she wasn't about to give Hazel the time to crack any code.
Lucian woke up only to see himself in a tiny dark room that looked nothing like the room he was used to.
“Mom”?
He called but he couldn't hear a word.
Fear enveloped him and when he finally found the door, he began to bang hard on the door.
“Mommy, please, open the door, I'm scared".
He said but there was no reply.
Meanwhile, Hazel was speaking to Raina when dona ran to her and spoke in her ear.
As soon as Hazel heard what she said, her eyes opened wide.
“What did you say”?
She asked and Dona's heart was beating so fast.
“I can't find him, no matter how much I check, I just can't find him”.
Hazel moved past her and ran to Lucian's room and just as Dona had said, he wasn't there, he was no where to be found.
Hazel was scared, her emotions were getting out of hand.
Just when she was about to lose her mind out of all the nervousness, she felt someone hug her from behind, placing his jaw at the nook of her neck as his breath calmed her down.
“We'll find him, but I need you to calm down”.
He said and as soon as she heard his voice, she calmed down even more.
When he noticed she was calmer, he turned her to look at him.
“Are you okay”?
He asked but she shook her head, admitting that she wasn't okay.
“It's alright, we'll take him back and she will regret taking him”.
He said but she looked at him, confused.
“How do you know for sure that it's her”?
She asked and he sighed before bringing the feather out of his pocket.
“This was on his bed when I first arrived. She isn't trying to play hide and seek, she is intentionally letting us know that she has taken our son”.
Hazel was breathing heavily, she looked like she was about to destroy someone but Kael held her hands and looked her right in the eyes.
“Calm down Hazel, we can't find him if you let your heart take control”.
He said and she looked at him confused again.
“My heart”?
She asked and he nodded.
“Apparently, your heart can make your emotions skyrocket and make them overshadow your thinking.
We can't let your emotions take over your reasoning”.
He said and she sighed before she nodded and looked at him seriously.
“What do you suggest we do”?
She finally asked, trying very hard not to get too nervous.
“We'll save him, but for now… we need a plan”.
Hazel nodded in agreement and soon enough, they gathered everybody close to them for a meeting.
Raina had used the distraction to try to run away but the guards caught her and placed her in a cell, where she would not be able to escape.
In the living room, Kael, Hazel, Dona, Miguel, and Zariel were seated, ready to discuss how they would get Lucian back.
“She is obviously doing this out of desperation”.
Zariel said.
“I do not care why she is doing it, I need my son back”.
Hazel retorted. Rave's reasons were actually none of her business, she just wanted to get her son back and what she needed was useful informations rather than the unnecessary ones Zariel was giving her.
“Raina should know where she is, why don't we ask her”?
Dona asked but Miguel immediately spoke.
“We've been asking her since we put her in the cell but she hasn't said a word to us. It's almost like she is ready to die than tell us anything”.
He said but Hazel smiled.
“That's not much of a big deal, bring her to me, I can read through her memories”.
She said and soon, Raina was kneeling in front of her.
“I don't know anything Hazel, why don't you focus on finding your son rather than going after an innocent person”?
She said, lying straight from her teeth.
“It's fine Raina, I have no plans of asking you any questions”.
She said and went ahead to kneel down in front of her.
Placing her thumb on her forehead, Raina's eyes turned pure black while Hazel's turned white and they both looked up at the ceiling as Hazel began reading through her memories.
Soon, she let her go as she had gotten exactly what she wanted.
Raina fell to the ground, exhausted and looking lifeless while Hazel stood up, looking like she hadn't just drained life out of someone else's body.
“Let's go, I know where she is”.
She said but while she was about to leave, Zariel held her hand.
She looked at her hand and then at Zariel with a brow raised and Kael immediately came between them and pushed his hand away.
He wasn't just trying to keep the man away from his wife, but he was also trying to stop Hazel from losing control.
They didn't know what she was capable of just yet but Kael could tell it would be dangerous and now was not the time for an experiment.
“I think you should wait.
Your are going to fall into her trap if you go like this”.
Zariel said after a while but his words seemed to have aggravated Hazel.
She moved close to him, her eyes locking to his as they both exchanged cold and intense gazes.
“If you're not going to help… leave”.
