Chapter 77 I'm back
“Ugh”!
Hazel exclaimed as she hit her back hardly on the wall before falling to the ground.
Maximus didn't give her the time to recover as he pick her up with one of his legs before hitting her on the wall repeatedly before throwing her out of the gate.
Hazel's body slip on the floor till she hit a pillar.
She was in pain, but not too much that she couldn't fight.
“That damn octopus”.
She said as she stood up.
This time around, she saw him charging at her and it gave her enough time to prepare and welcome him.
As soon as he was close enough, Hazel swam up, landing on its back.
She then dug her long fingers into its slimy body so that she could have a stronger hold on him.
This act made Maximus roar in pain but Hazel didn't feel sorry at all, she dug in even deeper.
He used his legs from behind to push her down but the the force caused Hazel to pull out a huge chunk of his skin, leaving him very bruised.
Hazel who had seen this smiled in satisfaction, seeing the work she had done.
“You should have left when you had the chance”.
Maximus suddenly said. But Hazel didn't look scared. She had a smug on her face as she stood up from the floor.
“Get off your high horse octopus, just cause you got me before doesn't mean you'll get me again”.
Maximus lifted one of his legs to hit her but she swiftly dodged his attack and and moved under him, scratching him from beneath.
The fight went on for a while and they were both getting pretty tired. Hazel was panting heavily but the injuries on her body were nothing compared to what was on Maximus.
“You really should give up or you'll die at this point”.
She advised but Maximus wasn't one to give up a fight. To be fair, he had never lost one before.
“I'm sure you think you've won, but you are out of the gate. His body remains where my master wants it to be, and he will never leave".
As soon as Maximus was done speaking, they heard someone chuckly lightly.
This made them both turn, only for them to see a man leaning beside the gate with one leg raised and his hands folded together.
“Ohh, my bad. I just couldn't help hearing him brag”.
He said and Hazel raised a brow.
“Zariel”.
As soon as Hazel called his name, one side of his lips raised in a smirk before he charged at Maximus with a very huge sword.
He cut the octopus into pieces within minutes.
Zariel landed on his feet and the parts of Maximus fell to the ground with our heavy thud.
Zariel kept looking at Hazel and she looked at him with a smile. Showing she was happy he had obviously gotten his body back.
“You succeeded”.
Alora suddenly spoke, causing both Hazel and Zariel to turn to look at her.
“Well done… both of you”.
She said looking at Hazel before she turned to Zariel.
“It's good to see you again”.
She said but Zariel said nothing.
He wasn't mad that she betrayed him, she didn't know he knew, but he overheard them threaten her.
He knew she only turned him in because she believed that was the only way to save him but he couldn't pretend to be comfortable around her either.
“I don't have time for your reunion, I need to get back to my family”.
Hazel said, cutting the uncomfortable atmosphere.
“Quick, let's get to the next step, let the ocean judge”.
As soon as Hazel said that, the ocean began to scream.
It sounded so loud, Hazel and Zariel had to close their ears due to the effect but shortly after, Hazel removed her hands from her ear and looked at Alora.
Alora smiled, knowing Hazel could finally hear the ocean.
“Zariel, Guardian of justice and deliverer of the oppressed, the ocean is well aware of the unfortunate situation you have been in all this while and is also aware of the good you have done in the past and has absolutely no reason to keep you here in the ocean any longer.
You have proved yourself and you are therefore free to go”.
Hazel smiled as the ocean calmed down and Zariel finally removed his hands from his ear.
He turned to look at Hazel and Alora.
“What did the ocean say”?
He asked and Hazel gave him a smile before going over to hug him.
“We did it Zariel, you… did it. We are both free".
She said before letting him go.
Zariel looked glad to see that he was finally free. He turned to Alora and noticed she was trying hard to stop herself from hugging him too but he pretended not to notice.
“This is great news, I'm sure Kael will be waiting to see you”.
She said and Hazel nodded, very desperate to go back home.
“Alright, let's leave and begin the plan to bring Rave down”.
Zariel said and Hazel agreed instantly.
“All you have to do is swim back up”.
Alora finally spoke, drawing both their attentions.
“Thank you for all your help Alora, means a lot”.
She said but Alora shook her head.
“It is my honor”.
She said and looked back at Zariel but he said nothing and just looked at her for a few minutes before grabbing hazels hand.
“Let's go”.
He said and soon, they swam up to the surface.
When she got to the shore, she could see him, standing, and waiting.
“Kael”?
She called and his hands that were linked behind him parted as he began walking towards her.
When he was sure it was her, he ran until he was close enough and she ran to him too.
“Is it… truly you"?
He asked and she smiled as she nodded.
“It is…”
She said and placed her hand on his chest.
“I'm back”.
