Chapter 59 Who holds their fate

Chapter 59 Who holds their fate
Kael looked at her for a very long time wondering what he might have done in the past that gave her the idea that her words would actually scare him.

“A threat”?

He asks and moved closer, looking her right in the eye.

“There seems to be some sort of misunderstanding here. I'm also not easy to mess with Cathy or should I say… Rave”.

One part of her lips raised at his last word but she said nothing and kept looking at him.

“I'd suggest you stay safe and always watch your back. You're not the only one who draws power from the underworld”.

After he said that, he walked away without looking back.

He was angry but he knew it was yet time.
He was determined to make sure she suffer for a very long time before he slowly watch life slip from her body but until then, he would just make sure he didn't entertain her at all.

She kept looking at him as he walked away, her chest beating up and down as something in her boiled with anger and a little bit of disappointment.

She didn't like the fact that he wasn't scared of her, she didn't like the fact that he could still speak without any form of fear. She wanted to intimidate him, she wanted to show him that she was more powerful than his beloved was.

She wanted him to see that she was more important and more worthy than Hazel but he didn't look scared or interested at all. Instead, he looks like he could break her into two with just one snap.

She didn't like it, it made her feel less of herself. She didn't like how he made her doubt herself.
She boiled in anger, she was fuming furious like never before but without saying anything else, she left and went to meet Miguel.

Miguel notice someone entered into the room so he turned and quickly hid something behind him.

“What are you doing here, how did you know I was here”?

He asked and she looked at him for a while noticing he didn't really have a clue about what was going on yet.

She moved closer as she spoke.

“How long are you going to stay in the shadows of Kael while he keeps tossing you around like a lap dog”?

Miguel didn't like her words, but he said nothing.

“How long are you going to stay glued to Hazel? I mean, she doesn't even reciprocate your feelings”.

Miguel raised his brow, wondering why she was talking like this all of a sudden. It almost felt like it wasn't the Cathy he knew.

He always knew she was cunning and manipulative, but she was speaking like a totally different person.

“I don't understand you, but I'm busy”.

He said, as he had no time to entertain her words.

Cathy smiled and moved close enough to place her hand on his chest.

Miguel had a brow raised as he looked at the hand on his chest before looking back at her.

“In a few minutes, Devon's men will arrive and you will be left alone to fight them”.

She went behind him, her hands never leaving his body.

“Isn't that unfair? He left you all alone to fight a battle that was never yours to begin with.
Are you really going to die for him, is he worth”?

Miguel was getting very confused, he wasn't slow, he knew something wasn't right, he knew she had lost her way but he couldn't understand it fully.

“Come with me, come with me and I promise you'll be a lot more important than Kael”.

She was still speaking when the doors opened up and many men rushed in at once, surrounding the both of them.

Of course it wasn't unexpected. Miguel and Kael had just infiltrated the pack so definitely, more men would be alert.

She looked at them before turning back to him.

She looked very unbothered like she wasn't surrounded by angry wolves.

“If you ever consider my offer, you know how to get to me”.

She said and her head turned to the man who was lying dead on the floor. She rolled her eyes and walk past him. Going towards the window, she jumped out leaving Miguel to handle the men.

Miguel had positioned himself to fight when he suddenly heard a man from behind yelling.

“Fire"!

He yelled and one by one, the men began burning from their feet up to their heads.

Miguel already knew it was Kael but he was surprised to see that he had come back.

“Why did you come back? I could have easily handled them”.

Kael walked towards him and looked at the men who were burning on the floor.

“I never left”.

He said and looked through the window.

“I hoped she would give you some important information but she just kept blabbing”.

Miguel looked at him with his brow creased in confusion.

“What do you mean”?

He finally asked and Kael looked at him before he sighed.

“Cathy is the one behind it all. She killed my parents and she's out to ruin all of us.

I'm not sure what her reason is, but I don't care either. I will make her beg and wish she never met me”.

Miguel was shocked to the spot. He couldn't blink, and he couldn't move. He just kept looking at Kael, waiting for him to laugh and say it was a joke but it never came.

He wasn't very close to Cathy but the girl had been with them for the longest time. It wasn't something easy to believe.

“You're saying… Cathy is Rave"?

He asked and Kael nodded.

“Why didn't you just kill her”?

He asked, not waiting to hear any other part of the story.

“I can't, only Hazel can and apparently, she doesn't have what it takes to kill her yet.

There is something they must find and it's safe to say our fate is in the hands of whoever finds it first”.
