Chapter 76 No More Circles.

I groaned, pressing my fingers to my temples feeling a headache coming.
The nausea had made my life ten times worse, not to mention the heat beneath my clothes that had me sweating in all the wrong places.
A sigh passed my lips, and for a second I'd forgotten I wasn't alone. I could feel their eyes on me before i even lifted my gaze- Jaxon's calculating stare, and Andrea's hard eyes.
The silence between us felt heavier than usual.
That was until Andrea finally broke it, his hands buried in his trouser pockets and his voice quiet as he asked the question I'd been dreading.
"Tell me this, stellina. Besides the camera act and saving your business, did you ever plan on coming back to us?"
Us? Not like I had an option to walk away from Jaxon. We're getting married in six days...
"You said Jaxon brought the idea to the board, but you didn’t even call to talk to me about it. You’re not the only one affected by what’s going on, Alex." It wasn't just his words that cut through me- but also the way he looked at me.
His calmness was a bit unsettling, as if he was holding back. For the first time since Jaxon walked in, Andrea seemed... patient, like he was giving me a chance to explain myself.
After all this time, I still wasn’t sure of what I want.
"I... I don't know‐" I stammered, only for Jaxon to cut me off.
"Alex," he said sharply, stepping forward.
"I said I don't know!" I snapped, eyes fleeting between them.
"This isn't just about me anymore, There's a human growing inside me‐ a baby." My voice softened, and my shoulders slumped.
"I don't know what I'm doing, and I don't know what I want." I turned to Andrea,
"I'm sorry, but it's not that easy to forget what you did. Even if it was for the greater good."
"Did you hit her?" Jaxon's question came out of nowhere, his fists clenching at his sides as his gaze locked onto Andrea.
"Are you fucking serious, Black?" Andrea's voice rose in defensiveness, his jaw tightening as he glared at Jaxon unbelievably.
"Considering your past with Lillian, can you blame him for asking?" I muttered under my breath, knowing full well Andrea would hear me.
And he did. His gaze snapped to me,
"Alex," he started, his voice softer now but no less intense,
"You know I'd never hurt you like that." I met his stare.
"It doesn't matter how you did it, Andrea. You still hurt me." My arms folded across my chest, as I felt my wall getting higher, the emotions were threatening to overwhelm me.
Andrea moved around the desk, his presence commanding as he approached. My breath hitched as his hand cupped my chin, tilting my face to meet his. The warmth of his touch was telling a different story from the cold fury in his eyes.
"I must admit," he began, his voice carrying the weight of his emotions.
"I'm still mad at you for leaving. Telling the entire world that I have no claims on you has turned me into a madman. But you must understand, my love, things have changed now that I know you're carrying a child- possibly my child." His glance wavered to Jaxon who stood unmoving, watching us intently.
Andrea's gaze returned to me,
"I'm not a man who bends easily, but I will crawl and beg like a dog if that's what it takes for you to take me back."
Andrea's fingers lingered under my chin for a moment before he exhaled sharply and stepped back, respecting my space. The air between the three of us felt heavy, charged with emotions no one wanted to name.
I stayed seated, my hands clenched tightly in my lap as Jaxon came closer. I didn't need to look to feel the shift in the room‐ the silent understanding that passed between them as their eyes met briefly. They both knew what this was, what it had become, even if I hadn't figured it out myself yet.
Jaxon bend slightly, leaning in until his lips brushed against my temple. The contact was gentle, yet his words made my chest tighten.
"You know where to find me when you're ready to face the music," he said quietly, his voice carrying the weight of both frustration and patience.
I didn't move. I couldn't. His warmth retreated as he straightened and turned, walking away without another word. The silence that followed was deafening.
Andrea stayed where he was, his gaze heavy on me, but he said nothing. I didn't dare meet his eyes, afraid of what I'd see... or worse, what I wouldn't.
The two of them had left me completely unsure of what my next move would be, and for the first time, I didn't know if I could put myself back together.

My hands gripped the edge of the marble countertop, my mind racing as I stood barefoot on the cold porcelain tiles.
I hadn’t even managed to get my clothes off fully‐ too preoccupied with my thoughts. The TV played in the background, but I wasn’t listening to what the news reporter was saying. All I could think about was what was best for my child. And myself. I had to make a decision now. I couldn’t keep playing this game. I tried to, but look at where that had led me.
I couldn’t be foolish. I didn’t want to run away and leave my problems behind. But I knew for a fact that if I told Andrea to get his jet ready and fly us to a country far from here and never return, he’d do it in a heartbeat.
He would.
And we would live happily together in a mansion with a big yard, gardens, and a vineyard like the one he has back home in Italy. We would have tons of babies‐ making them in the garden, in the vineyards... We would walk around barefoot in the summer, me in a light dress while he… I don’t even know what he’d be wearing. Running around with our children and growing old together.
And if I married Jaxon and raised this child with him, this baby would be set for life. And if it was a girl, he’d want a boy too, which I wouldn’t have a problem with. The plan had always been to achieve our goals, get married, and have enough children mounting up to the amount of players of a football team.
With Jaxon, it wasn’t‐ and never would be about just us. It was about who came after. Our kids, our grandkids. It was about generational wealth. I knew he wouldn’t mind me being a stay-at-home mom.
But could I really do that?
Could I stay home and have his seven kids while he continued to accomplish his dreams? I would too‐ but I had to be realistic. I would have to make sacrifices.
I couldn't achieve all my goals in this lifetime while being a present mother...
I started pacing. Why couldn’t I have them both?
But it wasn’t just about what I wanted anymore. I had someone else to consider now.
My hand fell to my flat stomach, and finally, it clicked, snapping into place like the last piece of a puzzle. I pulled my phone out, dialing a number.
It rang straight to voicemail. I placed the phone on the counter and watched it intently. Five minutes later, his name flashed across the screen‐ he was calling back. I picked up within a heartbeat.
My tears started to spill as I choked on the words.
"I can’t keep doing this any longer. It's you I want to be with...please come home to me."
I paced until fifteen minutes later when I heard the ding of the elevator. The doors parted, and he hesitated, it was so slight I almost missed it.
He walked over to me, muscles shifting beneath his suit. His hair was still styled, looking like he had just done it, even though it had been like this all day.
Holding onto his shoulders, I stepped into his arms as he wrapped them around me. Tipping onto my toes, I pressed my lips to his. He stood frozen for a second, but he eventually started kissing me back. The kiss deepened, and I only pulled away when I was breathless.
His eyes searched my face, swimming with emotion. Tingles ran all over my body under his heavy gaze.
I rested my forehead against his hard chest, and he rested his chin atop my head.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" His voice was heavy, as if he didn’t trust that this was the path I had chosen‐ that it was him I wanted in the end…
“Yes, Jaxon. I choose you.”

Author's note
Were you paying attention to details?🥹
Andrea would've picked up on the first ring.😔
It wouldn't have taken 15 minutes for him to get there. (If he needed to take his helicopter and land on the roof of the building he would.)😭
Andrea wouldn't have hesitated.🥀
