Seduction and Suspicion

Seduction and Suspicion
POV: Damian

I tore through the mansion like a wild animal unleashed, slamming each door one at a time. My boots echoed down the hallway as rage burned in my chest like a fire that refused to die.

“Isla!”

My voice thundered through the corridors, sharp enough to shatter glass. It’s been five goddamn hours and Isla has been nowhere to be found. Mark walked behind me, his tone cautious.

“Boss… maybe she’s been held up in college or somewhere. You’re overthinking this….”

“Overthinking?” I turned towards him instantly, fury snapping in my veins. “She tried to kill me, Mark! I saw it with my own eyes. And now she’s vanished. You think that's a coincidence?”

Mark flinched at the tone of my voice but held his ground. “I’m just saying…..don’t lose your head trying to figure out where she is. If she’s hiding, it’s probably out of guilt, not malice.”

I clenched my jaw. Guilt. Malice. Whatever the fuck she was feeling I didn’t care. Did it matter? The fact was that she wanted me dead.

But beneath the rage, something else crept in—something that I refused to name. Because as much as I wanted to force the truth out of her lips, the thought of her gone, truly gone made me feel a certain way.

It’s possible that she was hiding because she knew what I was capable of. Maybe she was here somewhere. But a darker thought gnawed at me, sharp and relentless. What if someone took her?

No.

It was impossible. No one would dare try to mess with me by taking Isla. I forced the thought away.

“Damian?”

A familiar voice drifted me off my thoughts. I turned instantly to see Selene leaning against the doorway, eyes glittering with something poisonous.

Her gaze dragged over me, catching on the tension that crept its way into every part of my body. “What’s wrong Damian, you look… paranoid.” She hissed.  “Angry.”

“The last person I need to see right now is you, Selene. Get out,” I snapped.

But she didn’t leave. Instead, stepped in as the sound of her heels clicked softly against the marble floor. “What’s wrong? Did your precious little wife finally show her true colors?”

My fists curled tighter. I didn’t want to answer, but the words tore out of my mouth before I could stop them. “She tried to kill me with a pillow the night I was unconscious. I just saw it in the CCTV footage. And now she’s gone.”

Selene’s smile widened, as though she was very happy hearing what I said. “Serves you right for trusting her too much.” She circled me like a vulture.

“You were always defending her and choosing her over me. And this is how she repays you? Pathetic.” The words cut deeper, and I didn’t want to believe whatever venom she spat.

But the footage—

“She doesn’t love you, Damian.” Selene continued, “She never did. But I…” She stopped in front of me, her hand brushing my chest. “I’ve always loved you. Always wanted you.”

I should've pushed her away the moment she stepped closer and told her to shut her damn mouth. But the betrayal and the ache Isla carved into me—it all turned into something darker.

Selene pressed closer, closing every inch of space between us as her breath was hot against my neck. Allow me to remind you who you belong to.”

Before I could part my lips to speak or stop her—

Her lips crashed into mine fiercely. I froze, my hands gripping her waist without hesitation to pull her closer. The kiss was a violent collision of teeth and tongues mixed.

She let out a low moan as she tangled her fingers in my hair, pulling hard to deepen the kiss even more. I hated this part of me that was responding to her. But I was willing to do anything to forget the pain of Isla’s betrayal.

Selene gasped into my mouth as I slammed her back against the wall,  “Fuck me, Damian… I want you to fuck me so bad.”

Her body was crushed against mine with brutal force, gripping my shirt and dragging it open as she arched into me, a broken cry slipping from her lips.

“Damian…” Her voice shook, breathless and pleading. “Only me… I’m the only person who can ever love you.”

Her hand slid lower and removed my belt. I deepened the kiss as she moaned into my mouth—raw, desperate, the sound vibrating through me like gasoline on an open flame.

I devoured every bit of her tongue with my lips, dragging her head back by her hair as I forced her to meet my eyes. And with one tug, her dress slipped down one shoulder to expose her breasts.

I bit it hard enough to make her let out a pleasurable cry, then soothed the pain with my tongue.

“Ah…..Damian…..” Her moan ripped through the room, as she pressed herself harder against me, as though she wanted to crawl under my skin and erase Isla’s ghost clinging to me.

My hands roamed all over her body, pulling at the fabric of her dress while she gasped with each touch, shameless moans leaving her lips without hesitation.

“……Mmm……ahh…..Damian…..more……” Each moan of pleasure she let out pulled me deeper into the spiral as the heat between us tightened like a noose.

And then—

Riiing. Riiing.

The sound of a phone ringing cut through the moment. We both stopped, my chest rising and falling heavily from what was happening. Selene’s lips swollen, her chest heaving against mine.

The phone kept ringing.

I forced myself to move away from her, rage and confusion colliding with something I couldn’t name as I traced where the sound was coming from only to hear it coming from a drawer by the bed.

I yanked the drawer open without hesitation.

Her phone.

Isla’s phone was the one ringing.

The screen lit up with missed calls from my number when I called her over and over all through today. I stared at it in disbelief, the rage that overtook me faded away, replaced by something far worse.

Isla wasn’t running or hiding away from me. At least not without her phone.

Something was wrong.
