Chapter 25 Cheating Chris
Cara stared at her ex best friend in awe, her expression though remained unchanged. "What?" She asked confusedly. "Warn me? You came here to warn me?" Her eyes creased as she asked.
"Yes, don't act so surprised, you ought to have expected this after the recent things you have done." Jessica confidently spoke.
Cara's lips curved into a smirk, she crossed her arms below her breast and relaxed into her seat. "Go ahead and enlighten me on the recent things I've done. Go on, I'm waiting to hear your threats."
Jessica was engulfed in rage at Cara's confidence in the situation but she refused to let it get to her. She believed Cara was trying to push her to the edge of her patience and she won't let her get her way.
"Cara Smith," Jessica positioned herself in a confident manner with her back straightened and head held high. "I understand how you must be feeling, yes, it might have been a year but it must feel like a few days to you."
"What nonsense are you spewing from that wretched mouth of yours?" Cara questioned firmly without delay.
"I know you miss your husband--"
"Not this bullshit again." Cara rolled her eyes as she rose to her feet and walked towards her desk.
"Cara, listen to me!" Jessica sprung to her feet and thrust forward towards Cara. "I know you are missing Chris, after all you guys were together for a few years and he is good in bed but I won't let you take him away from me. I love everything about that man! His eyes! His money! His good sex positions! Everything! The way he fcks me is just so good that I will never give it up."
"Why the hell are you telling me all this rubbish?!" Cara exploded at Jessica's face. "I don't care about how he sex you! I don't give a damn about it so stop telling me that nonsense. Also, I don't give two fcks about Chris, not anymore!" She sighed and ran her hand through her hair.
"Listen, Jessica, I don't even have the time to think about a man like you. I wouldn't have even remembered what you looked like if you hadn't come here today!"
Jessica felt a slight stab in her chest and let out a dry cough. How could she say that about her? Sure they were enemies but she wasn't sure she could ever forget what Cara looked like.
Cara continued in a calm and collected tone. "You came all the way here to tell me this bullshit, reminding me of how much of a btch you are and I just want you to know that I will never forget that so you don't have to remind me."
Jessica stepped forward. "You might think you look all cool now, acting like you don't care but I know you do care and you are jealous I am living the life you have always dreamt of--"
Cara let out a chuckle but Jessica kept on talking anyway.
"--the man you love, the money, the child! Everything you wanted is what I have now and you will never get it so don't try to pretend to me like you are cool with all of this. Remember that I can read you like an open book."
"That must mean you are currently reading the book upside down." Cara plainly said.
Jessica scoffed a laugh. "We are happy without you in our lives, we love each other. Our son, our baby means everything to Chris and my son will inherit everything! If you really think that you can stand up to me then you must not know me at all. When a woman is driven by the zeal to protect something, especially her marriage and baby, she will give anything and everything which means I will not even blink once before killing you."
Cara stared in silence at her used to be best friend for a few seconds before she finally spoke. "You know, I thought your selfish as btch finally came to your senses and realized how fcked up you are but I should have known there was no hope for people like you. If you are this worried about your marriage not falling apart because I can already see that it.
"But if you are trying to save it from falling apart then call your husband and talk to him and not me. Why do you think talking to me, who doesn't even get the luxury to sit and think about anything aside from work, will change anything?" Her thin brow arched and her hands raised and folded beneath her breast.
Jessica scoffed a laugh. "Stop pretending to be so busy. It doesn't suit you."
"Oh how I wish to pretend. I truly wish I wasn't busy for real you know? Anyway, if you want to save your marriage then try to keep a leash on your husband which I am sure will be impossible judging from where we are today, I don't know if you get it."
"Our case was different!" Jessica fumed. "Chris and I are together only because he couldn't love you and I showed him what it felt like to truly love someone and be loved as well!"
"Go ahead and tell that to the woman he was dancing with at the club last night." Cara plainly responded.
Jessica's eyes widened in shock. She had speculated the facts that Chris could have actually been cheating, judging from the way he treated her around the house but she always shrugged the thought off because that was the last thing she wanted it to be.
Heck it wasn't even on the list of possibilities and what ifs!
She never wanted it to happen. But hearing that from Cara now confirmed her speculations. Unfortunately.
"What did you just say?" She asked in a bewildered manner.
"You heard me. The girl that was grinding on him and him kissing her neck and caressing her boobs, tell this bullshit to her and not me." Cara firmly stated.
Jessica swallowed.
