Chapter 20 At The Club
Later that night, after Cara went home for a change of clothes into something sexy that fit for a club, she got into Romeo’s car and they both drove down to SA club.
A club known for big and influential people. There were several floors and vvip wards and surprisingly, Romeo had access to every room in the entire building. According to his confession.
Sitting at the bar of the club, they both ordered whiskey neat and drank next to each other.
“Okay,” Cara started. “To be honest, I'm so glad we had the lobsters instead. It was so amazing, like I had never had a lobster before.”
“I feel you.” Romeo responded. “That place is top notch. I went there with my mom one time and I fell in love with the place. Everything they serve is amazing.”
“It's beyond amazing.” She emphasized before letting out a chuckle.
“Let's go there again soon.” His voice was gentle.
Even with the crazy lights, she could still make out his handsome features and intoxicating smile. Boy would she love to get drunk on him that night.
‘Are you crazy?!’ She asked herself.
Her cheeks reddened at the thought of it and she found herself smiling to herself. Never did she think she could have such thoughts about any man again.
She had been so lost in the drink in her hand that she didn't notice Romeo staring at her.
He smiled as he saw her blush to herself. “Want to tell me what you are thinking about? Make me smile along with you perhaps?”
She looked up at him, not realizing that he had seen her smile. She broke out in a soft chuckle and shook her head. “Nothing, it's nothing. It's… it's something I mean but it's nothing.”
Romeo chuckled. “Okay. If you say so.”
She smiled and gulped down the content of her glass at once. It sizzled down her throat and her taste buds danced with excitement.
“Woah, slow down there.” Romeo chuckled. “We don't want you getting too drunk now, do we?” His full brow arched skyward as he asked.
She looked at him and shrugged. “Maybe we do.”
His tongue slipped out and licked his lower lips. “Okay…” he muttered softly.
“Refill please.” She ordered.
The night went on and with every glass she chugged down, the more drunk she became. Everything was looking like a blur but she still enjoyed it.
On the dance floor, she danced away her worries and sorrows. It seemed like a distant memory now, bumping into Chris that very morning. A distant memory that was too far to do any harm to her.
Romeo watched her dance with a satisfied smirk on his face and a glass of whiskey in his wandering hand.
She walked towards him and took his hand without even thinking twice.
Romeo didn't fight it. He slurped his drink down his throat and followed as she led him to the dance floor.
Their bodies moved with the rhythm of the music, every beat flowing through their veins. Her body pressed against his as she swayed her hips and his hands wrapped around her waist. Neither of them fought the moment.
She whined and grinded against him and he pulled her closer, biting her ear and kissing her neck. Her eyes fell shut and a soft moan left her mouth.
Her body sizzled wherever his hands touched and even though she was pressed against him, all she wanted to do was get closer. To feel him more and tell him how she wanted him to explore her body more.
She felt his hand trail up her body, feeling her curves. They reached for her breast and her head propped back against him. Her eyes–
“Oh my goodness!” Cara exclaimed as a glass shattered so close to her body.
Romeo immediately pulled her out of the way and hid her behind himself. “Excuse me? You almost hurt someone.” He tapped the stranger's shoulder.
“Oh I'm sorry, I didn't–” the stranger fell silent as he stared at them. He scoffed. “So we meet again, lover boy.” Chris sneered.
Cara's eyes widened in disbelief. “Chris? What are you…” she swallowed the rest of her question as she saw a blondie in a skimpy dress pressed against him.
She couldn't believe her eyes. He was already having an affair again just one year into his new marriage. It was understandable his reasons for cheating on her. She couldn't provide a child for him and he wanted one.
But what was his reason for cheating on Jessica now? They had a son together after all!
Romeo scoffed a laugh. “Did you have to ruin the night by showing your face here?”
Chris let out a chuckle. “You're the one ruining the night buddy, why are you even here? Why did I have to see your face on such a perfect night?”
“Romeo, let's go, he's not worth it.” Cara said, taking Romeo's hand in hers.
“Cara,” Chris suddenly gripped her hand. “Are you seriously going to be like this with me?”
Cara jerked free from his hold. “Come on, Romeo.”
“He'll dump you just like I did, Cara. You have nothing to offer him.” Chris stated in a tone of certainty.
Romeo lost his cool just then and sent a hard punch across Chris’ face.
Chris fell to the ground at once and his girlfriend crouched down beside him. “Baby! Are you okay?” She yelled out.
Cara stared surprisedly at Romeo, she couldn't help but to be surprised whenever she saw a different side to him. He had never lost his cool before and from all of her memories of him almost losing his cool, it was always related to her in some way.
He turned to look at her, his green eyes dimmed by the crazy party lights. The expression on his face turned out to be worry and sympathy and also… love. If she understood it clearly.
Her heart skipped a beat.
