Chapter 63: To the airport
Chapter 63: To the airport
When Viola went home later that day, she found Vance already around. He was on a phone call, and his face was frighteningly cold. When he saw Viola, his features seemed to soften a little. He didn't look as ruthless as he did earlier.
Viola changed into her slippers at the door and went to wash her hands before she approached Vance.
"Let's talk later." Vance said to the person on the other end of the phone and hung up.
"What's with my parents?" Even though she wasn't aggressive, Vance could tell that she was upset.
"I just want them to recuperate in peace." Vance said as a matter of fact. Genuinely , he hoped for the best for her family, that's why he started with her parents. He knew that shameless cousin of Viola would definitely go seek trouble at her parent's ward. How could he let that happen?
"Why?" Viola asked. He didn't seem to be lying. She wanted to know what he wanted. What were the benefits he was seeking?
"I don't know." Vance frowned. He'd never really cared about people. He didn't know why he suddenly began caring for her and her family. Every emotion was foreign to him. But he still wanted to try. If it meant chasing the woman he liked, he had to embrace a few things.
Viola just eyed him without saying anything. What could she say?
"Tomorrow morning, accompany me to send your parents to the airport." Vance said and stood up.
"Okay." Viola said. The two followed each other upstairs. Only that Viola was headed to the guest room while Vance headed for her room.
After freshening up, the two headed to the dining room to eat. Even though they didn't speak, the atmosphere was unusually comfortable. Even Viola felt relaxed despite the fact that the aura emanating from the man seated across from her was scary and suffocating.
Since she had a busy morning the following day, Viola didn't head to the study. She headed to the guestroom to sleep. Vance frowned. Why did she eat so small? He considered taking her to the hospital to check her condition. She probably needed a nutritionist or a psychologist. He would think about that after sending her parents to the island.
The following morning, at the airport;
"Baby, take care of yourself. We'll be calling to check on you, okay?" Viola's mother held her daughter's hands and said.
"Hmm. Take care, too." Viola nodded and fought back the tears that were about to gush out of her eyes. She didn't know why she felt like crying. Vance stood beside her and watched her every move.
After watching her parents board the plane;
"Let's go." Vance spoke softly at the side.
Viola nodded and followed him in the car.
"Are you hungry? Let's head to the restaurant to have breakfast?" Vance turned his head and looked at the girl who was zoning out and suggested.
"Okay." She was indeed hungry. They had rushed over first thing in the morning, so they didn't take breakfast.
When Vance stopped the car outside the restaurant, he walked to the other side and opened the door for Viola. Viola thanked him. When she saw the name of the restaurant, she paused for a moment before she turned to look at Vance.
He definitely could afford it. He was the richest man in the capital, who didn't know him.
Just as they made their entrance;
"Oh, look who it is? Who else if not my dear cousin?" As soon as Viola heard this, she had a bad feeling. She turned to look. Who else could it be if not Clara and she was actually hooking arms with her ex-husband.
Vance's aura suddenly turned chilly. It was as if everything was going to freeze just from his aura.
