Chapter 58: Amber's call
Chapter 58: Amber's call
When Viola picked it up, the person spoke;
"Leave my boyfriend alone. " That was the first thing that Amber said. She was fuming when she heard the report that Vance had gone with Viola to her place. What right did she have?
"Last time I checked, he's not your boyfriend. Please stop harassing me, or I'll sue you." Viola said. It's not like she wanted the Vance guy anyway. However, she wasn't the kind who would let others step all over her. Did they think she was a pushover just because she looked calm and composed?
After hanging up the call, she continued working. She couldn't care about the flies swarming around Vance, as long as they didn't involve her in their drama.
When Viola hung up the call, Amber was so angry that she smashed her phone on the wall. How dare Viola hang up on her? Did she really not know who she was?
Viola had no idea Amber had gone distraught. Even if she did, she wouldn't give a damn. They had nothing to do with each other anyway, so why would she care about that? The only thing she wanted was for Vance to leave her alone. She didn't understand why he insisted on following her to her place. It was so strange.
After working until evening, Viola suddenly felt hungry. She made her way to the kitchen.
"Miss, please wait at the dining table, I'll serve you food." The head chef said with a smile. Viola had no choice but to do as she was told. She still took a bottle of cold juice from the fridge before heading to the dining room. She had a sudden weird craving of apple juice, which is why she went to the kitchen.
The maids never allowed her to help out. This always made her feel awkward, but what could she do?
Then her thoughts drifted to that overly handsome guy Vance. Had he not woken up yet? Viola was tempted to send a maid over to check, but when she remembered how he hated women getting close to him, she dismissed that thought. She was not sure if the maid would come back alive.
After having the evening snacks, Viola made her way to her bedroom. That's where Vance was sleeping. She had been there four hours earlier after Vance's assistant brought him a change of clothes and other necessities. She had placed them on the dressing table. As she made her way inside, she realized that Vance was still deep asleep. If she wasn't a doctor, she would have believed that he was dead. His breathing was too shallow and also the fact that he had slept for almost the whole day and evening.
He looked overly handsome and harmless while sleeping. The long lashes covered his icy blue eyes that were always cold and dangerous.
Just then, he started moving about in the bed, as if he was having a very painful nightmare. That was all evident on his face, which looked very pained. Viola stood still at first to think. After a while, she walked to the side of the bed and held his hand. She tapped on a few acupoints on his hand, and then she waited. She wasn't sure if he would flare up at her, considering how sensitive he was. Suddenly...
