Chapter 57: Her bedroom
Chapter 57: Her bedroom
Viola frowned as they made their way out of the ward. Thanks to his threats, she temporarily chose to give in while she came up with a countermeasure.
"Shall we order a cab?" Viola asked. She had purchased a car but it had yet to arrive. It was a unique existence, so it would definitely take some time. She didn't mind using a cab, though.
"No." Vance didn't even think twice before rejecting her suggestion. He, a clean freak, use a cab? No way.
"Then?" Viola was confused. What could they do then in that situation?
"I've called my assistant. He will be here in a few minutes to pick us up." Vance said as he placed his phone back in his pocket.
"You'll head straight to your place. Right?" Viola heaved a sigh of relief. She didn't want too much interaction with the dangerous guy before her.
"No. Your place. Told you I wanted to go with you." Vance said matter-of-factly.
"You-" Viola was helpless. What was wrong with Vance's brain, really? Why would he want to follow her home when he had stuff to do? She just couldn't understand it.
"Sir." As soon as Sam arrived, he quickly got out of the car and respectfully went to greet Vance and Viola.
"Let's go." Vance told Viola and Vance took that as a cue to open the doors for the two of them.
After getting into the car, Viola turned to look at Vance,
"Don't you have company matters to attend to?" She couldn't help but ask because it was all puzzling.
"No. I'm very free today." Vance said without batting an eye. Sam, who was driving, almost rammed the car into a street light when he heard that. Was he free? There were very many pending things he had yet to do, yet he was saying he was very free? Sam could only lament to himself.
Viola knew he was lying, but she couldn't prove it, so she just closed her eyes and napped. Out of sight, out of mind.
Vance glanced at the sleeping beauty beside him and smirked evilly. She wanted to escape from his claws? As if he'd allow that.
"Wait, why do you want my room too?" As they stood face to face with Viola, she couldn't understand why the serious and cold Vance was suddenly so unreasonable.
"I just want it." Could he tell her that he especially liked her scent in particular? Of course not. That would feel cringe. Especially to himself.
"Okay then, let's go." Viola was tired of reasoning with him. And she was also scared because the guy could definitely tell all the servants what had happened at the hospital. She didn't want to lose face.
"Everything is here. If you need anything else, I'll be in the study on the second floor." Viola said before closing the door behind him and heading to the study room. Well, she really needed to work on some matters. She had already wasted a significant amount of time.
As soon as she left, Vance immediately climbed onto her bed. Surprisingly, he slept as soon as his head hit the pillow, thanks to her scent all over the place.
As Viola was busy working, her phone suddenly rang. She frowned because when she looked at the number, it seemed new to her. Who could it be?
