Chapter 52: Vance's Rage

Chapter 52: Vance's Rage

Viola didn't know how long she slept, but she just knew that she felt so refreshed when she woke up. She had slept until late in the evening, so when she woke up, her tummy was protesting. After taking a shower, she went downstairs and asked for some food. Even though she was hungry, just a few mouthfuls made her feel full. She never understood why she had such a small appetite. She had tried everything to no avail. After having her dinner, she decided to take a walk in the garden. She planned to visit her parents in the hospital the following day. As she walked through the garden, she sighed. It had been so long since she did this, and she couldn't believe just how first time flew. She sat on a bench and breathed in the fresh scent of flowers. They were so beautiful that they made someone feel tranquil. She didn't know how long she sat there, but she could tell that her foggy mind had cleared and that she could think straight about a lot of things that had been clouding her mind for a while now. She needed to take care of the company affairs, so after sitting in the garden for a while, she made her way back to the mansion and into the study to work. Now that her father was admitted, she had to step up and make sure everything was going smoothly in the company.

"You, what are you doing -" Just as Amber started, Vance pointed the gun in his hand at her.
"Shut up!" He commanded. Just the sight of her was enough to put her in a bad mood. How dare she try speaking to him? Was she even worthy?
After being shouted at, Amber had no choice but to keep quiet. She didn't know what would happen if she kept on talking, but she knew it wasn't something good.
"How dare you show up before Mr again? Didn't I make it clear already? I don't ever want to see you again!" Vance barked angrily. When he remembered how peaceful the how had been recently because of Viola's presence, he felt so irked. Amber had ruined everything he had started building with Viola. How could he rest assured? That only meant he was back to square one!
"Wait, i-"
"I'm giving you one minute to vacate the house. Leave no trace of you here. Otherwise, you can kiss goodbye to your life." Vance said impatiently. Anyone who felt his aura at that moment backed away silently. It was so scary and suffocating that anyone in their right senses wouldn't dare approach him.
Amber didn't waste any time. She knew she could die any moment from then as long as she dawdled. She regretted acting on a whim. It seemed as though she had attracted Vance's hatred instead of love as she thought she would.

After making sure Amber left, Vance went to his study. Everything felt irritable. He couldn't focus at all. He didn't know why he felt guilty all of a sudden. That emotion was too foreign to him, but no matter how much he tried to dispel the guilt, it didn't go away. Then, what could he do? He looked at his phone that was lying on the table and debated a solution. What should he tell her to make her not misunderstand him? For the very first time in his lifetime, Vance hated being misunderstood. He didn't know what was wrong with him for the past few weeks. He kept on experiencing foreign emotions whenever it had anything to do with Viola. He knew it wasn't a good thing to allow emotions to get the best of him, but what could he do when he couldn't dispel them?
After thinking for God-knows-how-long, he reached for his phone and composed a text message, intending to send it to Viola.
Viola was busy in the study, engrossed in a certain project, just then, her phone chimed with a notification.
