"You are terrible," Beatrice laughed, walking into her apartment, while Mia followed behind her with a packed paper bag in her hands.

"Yeah, I know, get moving," Mia smirked, Beatrice moved out of Mia's way as she walked further into her apartment.

Cody, came out of the kitchen, wagging its tail as it ran over to Beatrice, who squatted immediately and spread her arms out to him.

"Hey, big boy," Beatrice smiled, carrying her pet dog in her left arm while her right arm was holding the files she brought from the office.

Beatrice walked into her living room and placed the files neatly on the table and settled down on the seat, while she ran her fingers through Cody's fur.

Mia was busied unpacking the drinks and the mini bucket of chicken in a paper bag as she kept them on the table.

"Yeah, so how are we starting?" She asked, staring at Beatrice, wriggling her brow at her.

"Can't you take a break?" Beatrice fired at her and placed Cody on the seat beside her.

"Must you know what happened?" Beatrice teased as grabbed one of the bowls of chicken, and grabbed a crisped chicken thigh.

"Yeah, my stunning friend went out with our hot sexy boss, something has to happen," Mia chirped.

"We traveled for business, Mia," Beatrice bawled out and rolled her eyes.

"Business," She said, emphasizing the word, 'business'.

"I know," Mia sighed out in frustration.

"You are too boring for my liking," Mia frowned and Beatrice smirked at her.

"I'm coming, let me get us glasses for the wine," Mia chirped and stood up, she walked into the kitchen and Beatrice sighed.

She grabbed the remote control by the side stool and switched on the television.

Shortly, Mia returned to the living room with two glass cups in her hands.

She placed them carefully on the table and grabbed the wine, Mia removed the top and poured the wind into each of their glasses.

Keeping the bottle of wine back on the table, Mia grabbed her glass of wine and walked back to the leather cushion, and sat down.

"Nothing happened, I just couldn't stand him," Beatrice lied through her teeth, while Mia stared at her blankly.

"You are lying," Mia glared at Beatrice, who sighed and dropped the glass cup back on the table, leaning forward.

She grabbed her bowl of chicken and started digging into it, she smiled tearing the chicken into her mouth, savoring the delicious taste of the crispy chicken.

"What exactly do you want me to say, huh?" Beatrice asked, after swallowing the meat in her mouth.

"That I kissed my boss or had something more to do with him?" Beatrice inquired from Mia, who staring at her amusingly.

"Yeah," Mia shrugged, smirking at Beatrice, who shook her head in frustration.

'I shouldn't have let this pest follow me home,' Beatrice thought to herself, tearing the flesh of the chicken with her teeth and began chewing on it.

"So, by chance did you two kiss?" Mia questioned and Beatrice's eyes widened.

"No!" She spewed out some meat in her mouth and quickly cover her mouth with one of her hands and the other hand was on her chest, trying to stop herself from choking.

Mia was watching and studying her curiously.

"It never happened," Beatrice lied, although, their encounters from that night started flooding through her mind, she always kept her private life hidden from people unless it has to be her best friend and Mia hasn't gotten to that stage yet.

Yes, they are friends a bit close to telling each other certain things but not everyone has to know about her past life and relationship with Ben who is now her boss.

Mia would be the first person to spread the news around, mistakenly, yeah, she got a fat mouth, saying words she's not supposed to say before she has realized what she had already said.

"We slept in separate rooms, and he was always in his room," Beatrice said and Mia pouted in disappointment, and began eating her chicken too.

"I don't think he's the type that associates with ladies, he didn't even spare me a glance," Beatrice added, and grabbed her cup and sipped her wine then stealthily stared at Mia who was doing some thinking, and she smirked at her with the glass cup through her mouth.

"If all that you said is true," Mia started and leaned forward on her seat to me.

"What if he's gay?" Mia asked, making me cough.

'This girl won't kill me,' Beatrice thought in astonishment.

"Gay? Nah, I don't think so, that would be a waste of all his handsome features," Beatrice dryly, she can't even imagine Ben of all people to be gay.

"So, are you saying being gay is bad?" Mia asked, and Beatrice sighed and dropped her glass cup off the table.

"It's not bad in some sense, everyone can live their life the way they want it, being gay isn't a bad thing to me though," Beatrice said and Mia nodded her head.

"Then you don't mind if he's gay," Mia spoke again, and Beatrice glared at her.

"It is his life, I don't mind or care if he's one," Beatrice shot at him.

'I do mind, why will Ben be a gay in the first place, hell no,' Beatrice thought to herself, she couldn't even imagine how jealous she would have been about that.

"Hmmm!" Mia smirked and leaned back on the seat as Beatrice shot her a suspicious look.

"Mia," Beatrice called, Mia dragged her gaze from the television and stared at Beatrice questioningly.

"Yes?" Mia quirked her brow at her, while Beatrice squinted her gaze at her.

"Don't go spreading everywhere at work that the boss is gay, he is not one," Beatrice warned Mia.

"I wasn't going to do that, what made you think so?" Mia laughed out, then grabbed her glass cup and sipped the wine from it.

"Better," Beatrice taunted and leaned back on her seat too, her bowl of chicken on her lap while Cody kept staring and wanted to get his mouth one.

Beatrice noticed that her dog has been staring at the bowl of chicken on her lap, then she tore a piece of meat for her dog and fed it.

Cody groaned slightly as it chew the meat. "Good boy," Beatrice smiled at her dog and pat its back gently.

Suddenly, Beatrice's phone vibrated on the table, and she hurriedly stretched her phone to check the caller ID, it was her mum.

"Hey, Mia, I'm coming, I want to speak with my mum," Beatrice informed, distracting Mia's attention from the television.

"Oh okay, my regards to her," Mia said and turned her attention back to the television.

Beatrice stood up, placing the bowl of chicken on the seat, while Cody was eyeing it hungrily.

"Don't touch it," Beatrice warned her dog, pointing her index finger at it while Cody barked in response, sticking out his tongue at her.

Beatrice quickly entered the kitchen and picked up the call.

"Hey, Mum," Beatrice greeted her mum, placing the phone next to her ear.

"Darling, how are you doing?" My mum asked while I leaned back to one of the counters.

"I'm fine, how's Dad ?" Beatrice asked.

"He's great, he's recovering fast now, I'm glad for that," Her mum said happily.

"Me too," Beatrice smiled, doing a walking step with her index and middle fingers on the surface of the counter.

"Hope you are fine, Beatrice?" Her mum asked concerned.

"I'm fine mum, there's nothing for you to worry about," She assured her mum then crossed her legs in the form of scissors.

"So, is there a new guy in your life?" Beatrice's mum asked curiously, and Beatrice rolled her eyes.

"We are not having this conversation, mum," Beatrice said sternly, her face creasing into a frown.

"Why not? Beatrice, you are not getting any younger, you should remember that" Her mum chastised her.

'Oh, God! We are seriously having this conversation,' Beatrice sighed wearily.

"Find yourself a man!"
