"Don't misunderstand him, bess."Cheska said.

I just sighed and tried to calm myself down. I hope he didn't hear what we talked about because I'm sure he'll be angry.

"Is your husband really that strict? My beautiful face was not even greeted," Cheska said.

"Just leave it, Bess. That's how Ransom is and I don't want to argue with him anymore. I know where I belong," I answered.

"You should know that you are his wife. That's your place with him!" Cheska told me firmly.

"I probably won't force myself on him anymore.

I will just let him go and give him time to realize that this is the right thing," I answered.

I saw Cheska sigh in front of me. I saw her shake at what I said and I know she felt my heart was heavy. But I still have to pretend that I'm okay. I don't want to be weak because I have to be strong for my daughter.

"It's better to turn your attention to something else. Talk to the maids here while you take care of the baby," she advised.

"We will go to the mall when I'm free so that you can relieve your stress in life," he added with a smile.

"Thank you, Bess. Somehow I feel better because you're here," I thanked her.

I even told her that my father-in-law gave me expensive shoes. She was happy and impressed by the kindness of my father-in-law.

"I'm really lucky with my in-laws, not my husband," I said sadly.

"That's okay, Bess. As long as you remember this, don't ever become a martyr when he hurts you physically, okay?" he said gently but firmly.

"I'll remember that Bess" I replied with a smile.

"Anyway, where is baby Yumi?" she asked.

"I want to see her," she added.

"Just wait. I'll just call Beth," I said.

I called Beth to the room and a few seconds later she came downstairs carrying baby Yumi.

She excitedly approached the baby and picked it up. She looked so cute while holding baby Yumi.

"You are his first godmother," I said with a smile.

"It should," he replied.

"Thank you very much for all your help, Bess. When I was in the hospital, You were still by my side," I thanked her.

“Oh! Don't be dramatic. Let's be best friends and best friends are never left behind," she said with a smile.

"I really love you too, Bess. If you were a boy, I would have married you long ago, hehe," I joked to her.

"This woman is disgusting, hehe!" she replied laughing.                                                                          

"If only you were a boy. But you became a girl, so I'm your best friend," I said to her with a smile.

"Look at baby Yumi's smile, hehe," she said smiling as he looked at baby Yumi.

I smiled when I saw my daughter’s smile. My daughter's smile is really beautiful. It feels good to see her smile.

"You inherited the eyes, but the face she took was actually her daddy's face. I don't know why he doesn't want to own that beautiful child," Cheska said confused.

"Let's not talk about that, bess. I don't want baby Yumi to hear her daddy rejecting her over and over again," I told her sadly.

“Okay, I’m sorry,” she responded.

A few moments later, Cheska said goodbye because she said she and Nicko still had a date. She only intended to come to see me because she said she really missed me.

"Don't worry, I'll visit here again when I have a day off from work. That's a promise!" I said with a smile.

"Alright, Bess. Be careful," I replied smiling at her.

After Cheska left, I went up the stairs to the bedroom.

 When I entered the room, a cold voice greeted me.

"Can I hold that child?" he asked.

I was very surprised by his question because I didn't think he would tell me that. But when I was about to give baby Yumi, his phone suddenly rang.

He immediately went to Veranda and I was very hurt because he really prioritized that call. Maybe because that was really more important than him holding his son.

"Let's wait for daddy, baby," I said smiling while looking at baby Yumi.

I know that if she could only talk, she would want his father to touch him too.

A few moments later, Ransom entered again so I immediately stood up. But I was disappointed when he quickly put on a tuxedo and shoes and left.

"Where are you going? Aren't you going to hold your child?" I asked.

But I didn't hear any answer from him and he quickly left the room.

I just chose to understand him because I know he has a job to prioritize. But I still can't help but think that he would have given our son time at least for a moment.

But I know the real reason and I can't do anything if we don't value him.

Despite his cold treatment of me, I still chose to stay by his side as his wife. Even though I know it is unlikely that he will love me back, I still hope for the sake of our daughter.

The next day I woke up and was shocked to see that baby Yumi was no longer in her crib. I immediately ran to the Veranda but she was not there either.I ran out of the room and saw Yumi carrying Beth.

"Beth, why didn't you even say you were going to take Yumi?" I asked her annoyed.

"Do you know I was very worried about my daughter?!" I added.

"I ordered her,” a cold voice from behind.

I was surprised by the voice I heard from behind me. He looked at me with a serious face that was as cold as his voice.

"Uhmm, I was just worried about our daughter," I explained.

"Don't be over reacting. As long as she is here at the mansion she will be safe," he answered.

Even though I was a little annoyed by what he said, his joy still prevailed. I'm happy because he finally noticed baby Yumi. Does this mean that he claims our child as his own?

"I'm sorry, Ransom. I just want to assure my child's safety," I apologize.

"Just leave us and Beth will take Yumi upstairs when I say so," he said seriously.

I just sighed and gave in to what he wanted for the sake of our son.

When I got to the room, I thought about taking a shower. I went into the bathroom to take a shower.

I can't be bothered to think about my father and son. I hope he will also learn to love gaming son. I hope he will accept everything because I asked for nothing else but to give Yumi a whole family.

I just closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

After a while, I came out of the bathroom and got dressed. I looked at myself in front of the Vanity Mirror. I'm pretty, but why doesn't he like me?

I can't be restless when there is nothing to do, so I fixed his bed. I changed his bedsheets and blankets. I want him to somehow see my efforts, even if it's simple.

After I got dressed, I went downstairs to bring the bedsheets and blankets to the laundry area.

I couldn't help but look at my daughter who was being held by Beth while Ransom was looking at her seriously. Why is he looking at my daughter like that?

I was surprised when Dina pulled me and told me to let it go because she saw how happy Ransom was while holding our daughter earlier.

"Let them go first, ma'am," Dina said with a smile.

I saw Ransom glance at me and I don’t think he saw me standing on the stairs. This man's gaze was really sharp.

I immediately went to the Laundry Area to avoid him as well. I made myself busy doing laundry even though Dina stopped me.

"Ma'am, please let me be there,"Dina begged who was obviously scared.

"They will surely scold me when they see you doing the laundry. That's my job, Ma'am," she added.

"I'll take care of you, Dina," I assured her.

I heard her sigh and the worry on her face was obvious. I just smiled at her loyalty to her work. They are similar to Beth so we are lucky to have them.

After a while, I finished the laundry and asked Dina to dry it because I still need to see my daughter. What is his father doing to her?

When I got to the living room, I found Beth carrying my daughter. I looked around to look for Ransom. But I didn't see her, so I immediately approached Beth and asked her.

"Where's Ransom?" I asked.

"He Left, Ma'am. Someone called him and he is leaving in a hurry," she answered.

"Is that so?" I asked sadly.

"Yes,Ma'am" she answered again.

"Okay,maybe it is really important for him. That's his Job,"I smiled sparingly.

Suddenly Ransom’s parents came. They greeted me with a smile and I said the same to them.

They immediately came and kissed my daughter's forehead. Baby Yumi smiled simply even though she didn't have a naive face. It was fun to see her very cute face.

"How's your day, Camilla? How are you and baby?" Daddy asked me.

"It's good. How about you Dad, Mom?" I asked.

"So far my day is really good," my father said with a smile.

I just smiled and so did mommy and daddy.

They invited me to join them for dinner. And as I expected, they looked for Ransom.

"Where's Ransom?"daddy asked me.

"He Left earlier. Someone called his phone and it seems important," I answered.

"Ah okay. I think it was one of his Clients," said daddy calmly.

"Yes,Dad."I tried to smile.

"Don't worry,dear,"he smiled at me.

After a while, they said goodbye to get dressed and told me to wait downstairs.

"Wait for us. We'll just get dressed for a while so we can have dinner together," he said.

"Okay, Dad," I replied with a smile.

While waiting for them, I couldn't help but ask Beth what Ransom did earlier with our daughter.

"He taught me how to hold the baby, Ma'am," Beth said with a smile.

"Really?" I asked her happily.

"Yes, but he returned the baby to me in less than five minutes. Sir Ransom’s face is always serious, so I honestly don't know if he is happy or not. I'm sorry, but that's what I see in him, Ma'am ”answered Beth.

"It's okay, Beth. That's how he really is, but I'm sure he's very happy to be with her daughter,"I said and smiled sparingly.

"Are you talking about me?"

I was suprised to hear Ransom's voice from behind.
