Chapter 98 98
Alexa stepped into the room, her legs almost failing her but she willed them to stand still. Her eyes turned glassy as she dusted her hands beside her and turned to Liam.
"We have to find them." She muttered, tears escaping from her eyes, "Jade. Please....Liam.....do something."
Liam walked to the broken window, staring at the rope that led down. It was practically impossible for anyone to take the kids with those ropes but it was possible to come up. It simply meant they must have passed the hallway where there was CCTVs.
"Keep her calm." He said to Cassidy and glanced at Sarah who was shocked to the bones, unable to speak.
"I'll bring them back."
"I'm coming with you." Alexa shot, running out to him, "Take me along. Let me go, please...." She muttered, her eyes pleading.
"Alexandra..."
"Please, Liam." She muttered and quickly rushed into her room, coming back with a large gown which she wore on her night clothes, before she grabbed her phone and followed him out of the house.
"You need to stay calm, Alexa." Liam held her hand softly and she stared at him, her eyes filled with tears and unspoken fears as she nodded her head.
They made their way to the entering center and they immediately asked for a record of the CCTV.
"I'm sorry but we can't show you without the inference of a Police officer." The attendant said.
"Are you fvcking kidding me!? Our kids were kidnapped from this place!" Alexa couldn't help but scream at the lady and the lady blinked.
"Call the management." Liam said, touching Alexandra's shoulder as she staggered backwards, taking a deep breath. God, she'd messed up. She should have spent the night in the children's room. She should have read them bedtime stories and simply fallen asleep there. She should have tried to talk to Alice and Jade and not assumed that they would settle things out alone. Maybe, just maybe, she'd have spent enough time and the kidnapper would never be able to get them in the first place.
"Who do you think it is?" She croaked, her voice barely above her hearing.
"I think it's Reed." Liam muttered, showing her his phone. Her hands shivered as she read the messages and the phone fell off from them. She looked at him with a angry eyes,
"You should have told me about this!" She shot, her body shaking from anger.
"I only found out yesterday night." He said, trying to calm her down but she pulled her hand away, in disappointment.
"Didn't you say that you wouldn't try to solve things yourself anymore? You are always doing this, Liam. Hiding things from me and trying to work them out yourself. We are meant to be a team, can't you think about that?" She shot and he released a long shaky breath as he stepped closer to her.
"I swear if it's really Reed, I'm breaking up with you. I can't take my kids knowing there would be always someone to get them at each instant. Since he took his daughter already, get him to bring mine back." She shot, walking out of the center and into the car.
Liam was about to follow her when the attendant walked to his with the manager, "I heard-"
He stopped in shock when Liam turned and his jaw fell open.
"Mr Jordans, it's such a pleasure-"
"I need to see the cameras." He said instantly, cutting the man off and the management nodded immediately as he took him upstairs.
Liam's leg shook impatiently, adrenaline rushing down his body as he waited for the clip of their hallway.
"Stop." He said and the operator immediately zoomed into the man with a mask and the two kids. His silhouette and the way his eyes was... unfortunately for the culprit, Liam was a very observant person and if he didn't like you, it was really easy to place all of your characteristics into his head.
He scoffed lightly as he immediately walked out of the place. Getting to the center, he picked his phone up from the ground, the screen shattered. He tried it and it still worked and he immediately called Eugene.
"Get the police to track my phone, Eugene. They should follow us as quick as possible." He said and walked out.
"It wasn't Reed, it was Ryder." He said to Alexa and got into the car, starting it quickly. Alexa opened the door too, without wasting time, all of her previous anger dissipated.
"Wasn't he in prison?"
"I believe he has a higher hand there who could give him a break. I should have thought about that and just sent the guy to hell instead" His hands tightened on the steering wheel as he rushed out of the place, having no idea where he was going. But if Ryder took the kids, sooner or later he would call.
The thought hadn't rested for a second when Alexa's phone rang and it was a strange caller ID. She'd blocked and deleted his number after what he did to her.
"Where's Jade?" She asked immediately, placing the phone on speaker.
"You came for a vacation, right? Let's play." His voice resounded in the speaker.
"You are pathetic, Ryder. You can't come straight to me so you took kids." She raised her brows.
"As long as it does the job of making you panic. I'm all in."
"Bring them back!" She shot, her body vibrating from unrestrained anger. Her heart beat fast in her chest. She couldn't help but think the blood she saw on the floor were from either of the kids.
"Meet at Monoa's Fall Cave. Come....alone or risk loosing the kids. I don't care if Liam is with you right now. Don't bring him here." He shot.
Alexa gritted her teeth, glancing at Liam beside her. He shook his head but she couldn't risk it.
"Fine. I will come alone." Her mind was made up.
