Chapter 96 96
It was late in the evening when Alexa woke up, pulling away from Liam's tight arms. She placed her hand underneath her chin as she stared at him and then she raised her fingers placing it in the rays of the setting sun. It was beautiful perfect, truly created for her alone. The diamond seemed to fit her crazily and she loved it.
She scrambled up from the bed and immediately went into the bathroom for a quick bath after which she put on new clothes, a free singlets and shorts that got to her laps before she walked out of the room.
She trudged towards the beach, her face failing to hide her smile when she saw the kids sipping cold juice which Cassidy would probably have gotten for them. The moment they saw her, they dropped it and rushed towards her. Their hair were damp from playing in the water all day long.
"Mommy, you didn't come to have a swim." Jade muttered the moment she came to a stop in front of Alexa.
"Yeah. Something came up, darling." Alexa bent in front of her daughter, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. Jade stared at her with pretty doe eyes and she couldn't help but fill a pang of pain for the kids. She stretched her hands and pulled Jace and Jade closer to her.
"Kids. How would you like for mommy and daddy to live together?" She asked. Jace's eyes were the first to widen and he immediately noticed the glittering ring on her finger.
"Mommy, are you getting married to daddy?" He asked, his voice high. Cassidy and the others immediately turned to her and Alexa's jaw fell open. She had not expected things to turn out this way.
Knowing Cassidy, she immediately got up and rushed towards them and her own eyes widened when she saw the ring.
"Doreen! She's getting married!" She screamed eagerly and the duo rushed towards them.
"When is it, mommy? When?" Jade jumped around her mother with a excited glee. She took Jace along, jumping up in excitement. The onlookers who didn't know what was going on were all smiles seeing the children play happily. They were obviously an happy group.
"Isn't this...." Cassidy let out an imaginary fainting sound and Alexa's cheeks went bluntly red as she bit her lips, "So Liam designed this ring for you alone?" She muttered.
"It was weird when he told me a ring size that resembled yours instead of madam Stella." Eugene tapped his chin carefully and Doreen smacked the back of his head.
"Is this the right time to bring in Stella?" She asked and looked at Alexa, "Who would have the honor of dressing you up on your wedding day?"
"Me, of course." Cassidy raised her hand and Doreen scoffed, sweeping her hair backwards slightly as she turned to Cassidy.
"What do you know about the designing of dresses?" She asked.
Cassidy frowned, "Look, I have put on dresses on Alexandra that made men swoon over her. Ask her, she'll testify." She pointed at Alexandra and Alexa nodded, giving her accolade.
"Well, this dress is mainly for Mr Jordans to swoon over her, not other men." Doreen shot.
"You seem not to notice that everything Alex puts on gets men looking at her. Look around you." Cassidy raised her palm and Doreen looked around.
Truthfully, almost all the men stared at her with lustful eyes so much that it was disturbing. What the hll did Alexa have on these men?
"Anyway, you specialize in hair styling. I would take care of her dress." She snapped and walked away, the sand accompanying her as she angrily left.
Cassidy pursed her lips in unspoken victory and Alexa laughed.
"Doreen." Eugene rushed after her.
"Those love birds would be the ones to get married next." Cassidy said, shaking her head and then she glanced at Alexa, suddenly pulling her into a tight hug.
"Darling, I'm so happy for you." She muttered as she patted her hair and Alexa melted into her embrace. There was no friend like Cassidy, ever.
"Thank you, Cassy." Alexa muttered.
"You have been through so much. I can only believe better things are at head. Have a happy time with your family, live with them forever. Grow with them, these kids are going to be best and I know, there is probably no one like Liam. He'd given his life and more for you and I know he will do more busy to be with you forever. So...Alexa....let's live a more in happy life in the future, okay? Things....only get better from now on." She said and Alexa nodded against her shoulders, burying her head in the crook of Cassidy's neck.
"I love you, Cassy." She muttered.
"I love you too." Cassidy muttered.
His footsteps seemed to echo as he walked out of the empty field, the wind blowing his hair slowly against his face. He was in Hawaii, the beautiful land Alexa had thought she could free herself from worries. Only if she'd knew that this would be the place she come to hate for the rest of her life.
His jaw worked on the gum in his mouth and he adjusted his shoulder bag, staring at the time. It was 9pm right now and by tomorrow morning, she'll be crying. He couldn't wait, her smile once had turned him on but now it was growing to be her freaking tears.
Ryder chuckled lightly, the corner of his lips lifting as he took a long drag of his cigarette and threw it on the ground. His smile disappeared as he crushed the cigarette with vigour and bounced out of the place.
"So you took her in and secretly proposed to her instead of doing it in the open?" Cassidy hit her hand on the table and Liam sighed.
"You don't understand. One thing led to another -"
"What thing? " She interrupted and Alexa glanced at Liam as she bit her sausage. Liam smirked.
"Wait, what?" Cassidy's eyes widened as she hit the table hardly.
"How could you do that with him this quick? And while we were at the beach? So insensitive of you guys!" She snapped.
At the same time, Alexa heard a knock on the door and she walked towards it, opening it.
Liam's phone vibrated and he stared at it, "RETURN MY FAMILY!"
He would send this number and finally get the person behind this incessant messages.
"Liam, Alice and her mother are here." Alexandra announced and it finally clicked. The messages were from Reed, his uncle.
He couldn't believe his head.
