CHAPTER 110

CHAPTER 110

Mara laughed, "Are you threatened?"
"No!"
"Then why did you come for me? You don't think I would not have raped J'onn years ago if I wished it so?"
"I don't pay attention to your blackmail. I have come to sermonize to you that you can't eat your cake and have it too."
"How cruel were you to me for sticking close to Christopher after you informed me that I don't love him?" Mara did not say anything but continued to glare.
"Stop making a big deal about nothing. This is a different kind of situation."
"How is it different?"
"I have respect for J'onn back and forth, and we're just friends!"
"I'm not going to go back and forth with you about it. But you and J'onn can't be buddies when I'm around, and you made me do it. So stay the hell away from my man!" Bonnie shouted and then headed in the direction of the elevator.
She decided to stop by Tiffany's office before going directly to hers.
She knocked on the door then helped herself in, not caring that she was not told to. She found Tiffany on a telephone call while she was sitting by her desk.
"Something extremely important has just arisen. May I call you back?" She overheard Tiffany on the telephone.
"Right, thanks!" she said, finally placing down her phone. "Christ!!! Bonnie, where the bloody hell were you?"
"Those are my buttons," Bonnie said with a sly smile, heading to her desk and sitting down in front of her. "Didn't you pick up your phone? I swear, I called you almost 8 times."
"Sorry about that. I didn't realize it rang." She answered in good faith. Her phone had been in her handbag since she arrived home from work last night.
"I knew you would worry, that is why I have come to report myself before I go to my office."
"You are glowing!" Tiffany burst out, suspiciously staring.
"Because of possibly the baby."
"No, you have a different kind of glow and you look happy. And I can also keep track of how many times you have visited my office."
Bonnie chuckled, "Stop overthinking!"
"I know I am not. Something is certainly occurring. Speak!"
Too excited to keep the news to herself! She finally decided to spill the beans. "J'onn is about. We reconciled!"
"Are you kidding me?"
Bonnie nodded, smiling.
"It's crazy how I was taking a trip to him, but he tricked me by coming here. I returned home to him at my door last night. Plenty of confrontations occurred, but we're fine now. Melissa loves him so much, and he is extremely pleased to hear that we're having another baby together."
"Oh my God, Bonnie, seriously?"
"Don't say you're going to cry!" Bonnie teased.
Tiffany sat up from where she had been sitting and walked over to where Bonnie was. She already had tears in her eyes. "I'm so happy for you, sweetheart." She hugged her.
"Thank you!" Bonnie smiled back, hugging her.
"God, this is wonderful! Best news I've heard in a month." She sniffed, wiping away tears from the corner of her eyes with her finger. She rested her back against her desk and gazed at Bonnie.
"Thank you, babes. Thank you for being gentle with me."
"You're welcome. I knew the glow had to be caused by something very good. I am so glad you're pleased, J'onn, and Melissa."
"You can invite him tonight to the party if it doesn't bother you."
"Yep, we'll see about that."
"Cool."
"Did you have breakfast? I can get something for you to eat first before I go through the diary and see what's on the list for today."
"J'onn made me eat something before I left the house, so I'm fine. We can get going."
Bonnie was in her superpower everything mood when she got lost in her work, struggling to beat deadlines, especially as she was trying to fight for some time off to go on vacation with her family.
She had no idea how many hours she worked until someone knocked on her door.
"Come in," she muttered without looking up from her laptop until she heard a voice.
“You’ve got a package.”
Bonnie’s lips instantly curved into a smile when she saw Tiffany holding a bouquet of red roses in one hand and a small basket of food in the other hand.
“For me? Who sent them?” she asked, even when she could almost swear that she knew who it was.
"I don't know, but there is a note in there," Tiffany said, handing her the roses and then putting the food basket down on the table.
Bonnie removed the note from the middle of the roses and opened it.
"Couldn't stop thinking about you, my queen. I hope this brings a smile to your face. Kisses to you and our son. I'm counting the minutes until I see you after work. Love, J'onn!…".
"Okay! I recognize that smile," Tiffany taunted.
Before Bonnie could say a word, her phone rang by her side on the table. "We will talk later." Tiffany blew her a kiss and walked away.
"Hello," Bonnie smiled when she answered the call.
"How do you know it's me?"
"I sensed it. And who would call me with a foreign number but you."
"How are you? Work going okay? I miss you!"
"I miss you too."
"Thanks for the flowers and the food."
"No thanks necessary, my love. I have a responsibility to take care of you. Thought you would be busy, so sent food."
Bonnie smiled, glancing at the basket which had lunch along with fruit juice, bottled water, and some fruits.
