Chapter 137 THE LAST DAY

Chapter 137 THE LAST DAY
Godiva's POV

"Okay, that is not nice." Jerald inhaled deeply before continuing. "The fact that we got you girls the same present after your first exam didn't mean we'd always get you the same thing. In that present you never opened; was my heart."

He looked away for a moment before meeting my eyes again.

"I poured my heart into a letter. In that letter, I asked you to wear the necklace to school the next day if there was ever a place for me in your heart. When I saw you didn't wear it, I completely lost hope. That was when I stayed away. It wasn't sane of you, genius, not to even open the present. Honestly, it would've been better if you rejected it than dumped it."

Jerald let go of my hands, unable to hide his frustration.

I doubled my pace, running after him as he walked ahead of me. I knew he was really upset, maybe because I dumped the gift or because I thought it was the same as Dina's. In truth, I had completely forgotten about it.

"Wait up, Bling. I'm actually sorry. Why are you acting petty like me?" I laughed, catching up to him and holding him firmly.

"Oh, so you do know you act petty?" Jerald smirked.

"Not exactly." I laughed, locking my fingers with his.

"Promise me you'll check it out once you get home," Jerald said as we stopped in front of Godmother's gate.

"I promise, I will," I replied softly, turning to look at him.

"Then I guess you need to head in now." Jerald gently brushed the dirt from my hair before licking his lips in his usual seductive manner.

"Don't tell me you still want another kiss after kissing nonstop for probably half an hour." I laughed, teasing him.

"Well..." He leaned closer until his lips brushed my ear. "I can never get enough of you."

A shiver ran through me as he kissed my ear, then slowly trailed gentle kisses down my neck. His lips had just begun moving toward mine when Godmother suddenly cleared her throat.

"Oh shit!"

"Godmother!"

Jerald and I chorused in panic.

"Yes, goddaughter. You almost had me worried," Godmother said sarcastically as she removed her glasses.

"Hello, ma'am. Good evening," Jerald greeted, stuttering slightly.

"Hello... umm... is it Jordan?" Godmother asked, trying to remember his name.

"No, ma'am. It's Jerald," he corrected politely with a forced smile.

"Oh yes, my apologies. Hope you all had a swell time hoverboarding?" Godmother asked, glancing around for the hoverboards.

"Yes, ma. We definitely did. They were a bit of a burden, so we dropped them off at Jerald's place. I'll pick mine up tomorrow," I answered hastily.

"That's beautiful." Godmother smiled and turned to leave.

"Uhm... goodnight, Godmother," Jerald said with a slight bow, smiling from ear to ear.

His words made Godmother stop in her tracks.

"I see your girl has initiated you into calling me Godmother." She chuckled happily. "Goodnight then, my godson-in-law."

She laughed to herself as she walked away.

"Haew... that was terrifying." Jerald heaved a sigh of relief before smiling again. "But your Godmother's humor is top-notch."

"Definitely." I chuckled.

"How the hell did we forget to hoverboard? I mean, that was the main reason we went there." Jerald laughed in disbelief.

"That isn't the question." I shook my head. "The question is, how did we forget our hoverboards there?"

"I guess you were so into me that you forgot yours," Jerald said in his usual egoistic manner.

"And I guess you were only thinking about kissing me. That's why you forgot yours," I shot back before throwing myself into his arms.

"Goodnight, Diva. I think today means more to me than the day you agreed to date me," he whispered, lightly pecking my forehead before reluctantly letting go.

"I guess we've exhausted the drama already, so no more breakups," I replied with a smile as I walked away without looking back.

"Damn, girl!" Dina and Alex exclaimed the second I shut the door behind me.

"Y'all are gossips." I burst into laughter at the excited expressions on their faces.

"I guess he must really be a good guy for your mama to let you date him," Godmother smiled from the couch where she was lying.

"No one is actually good, Godmother. We just try to see beyond each other's flaws," I replied shyly as I sat beside her.

Finally, it was our last day at All Saints. I sat quietly in my room that afternoon, reminiscing about my stay. I remembered how much I had hated the idea of coming to All Saints, yet it had turned into an experience I wished had lasted much longer.

With that thought lingering in my mind, I returned to my room and collapsed onto the bed. Listening to the whistles of wandering birds, I gradually dozed off.

………..

Morning came like a silent storm. My alarm blared into my eardrums as I rushed to the bathroom to wash up.

I got dressed in a hurry and jumped into Alex's room. Gosh, I genuinely thought I was fast. How could guys get ready so quickly, even in a rush?

"I really hope this isn't the end of this bond," I said soberly to Alex, who was lying on the bed behind me.

"It can't be the end. Let's make this our reunion spot every spring break," Alex replied quietly. From his voice, I could tell he was sad.

"Y'all should stop this pity party and get up. We have lots of people to visit," Dina laughed, spanking me lightly before leaving the room.

"Why can't this girl let us enjoy these moments?" Alex hissed as he climbed out of bed.

"Don't bother. She's definitely going somewhere to cry," I chuckled as I got to my feet.

"Hurry, girl. Jerald is already waiting outside," Dina called. Her voice sounded shaky as she walked past us through the lobby leading to our rooms.

"Didn't I tell you? She definitely cried," I whispered to Alex with a laugh as I swung the door wide open.

"She definitely cried. Probably in the guest room," Alex laughed hysterically as he followed behind me.

"Baby!" I exclaimed dramatically, throwing myself into Jerald's warm embrace.

"You really have lots of strange sides," Alex said, shaking his head as he walked past us to catch up with Dina.

"Why the drama?" Jerald laughed as he spun me around.

"Stop it, Bling," I managed to say between fits of laughter.

"I missed you, my woman," Jerald teased, pecking my lips as we walked away to join the others.

"Why did you come without prior notice?" I asked curiously, smiling at Jerald as we walked toward one of his friend's houses.

The visitation had officially begun, but I had an eerie feeling about the day's outing.
