Chapter 88
Chapter 88
Ruby
“I told you, you can't escape from me Ruby. You are still weak as st and for your information, your wolf can't surface, I injected you with wolves bane. It will take days for her to wake up.” I am caught with just a few steps, he is faster and can teleport too. I'm finished, if my mates don't find me, then I think I will not be able to escape this man. He grabs my arms and pulls me towards him in anger. The cave is just steps away. It disgusts me though, why did he choose such a place? Its damp and muddy with algae and moss are all over. To add to it all I don't even have shoes.
My body is heavy and weak, he gropes me by my neck suffocating the air out of me.
“Pl…eas…eee.” I try speaking.
“Please don't make me do this to you again. Just cooperate okay.” He begs. I just nod, I know someone will come to my rescue, I must have hope for me to survive. He slowly grabs my arm and takes me back to the cave. This time he ties my arms at the back and my legs tightly before helping me sit down.
“You made me do this to you.” He states. “Your own best friend betrayed you, and you think there will be someone who will help you?” He adds. Did he just hear my thoughts? Who is he?
“My friend? Zama?" I ask just to make sure.
“Yes that bitch Zama, told me everything I needed to know about you. And by everything, I mean everything.” He grins.
“Zama, I don't believe you.” I say.
“I have no time to argue with you, I'm not even interested in saying her filthy name.” He says with a resigned tone. “I'll get you some food.” As if on cue, my stomach rumbles. With that, he rolls a really huge stone covering the cave leaving me in total darkness.
Suddenly, I feel something moving inside my stomach, something really tiny but aggressive in a good way. Wait a minute, am I pregnant. I warm smile flashes over my face just imagining a tiny being formed inside my womb.
A wave of fear and sadness washes over me seeing where I am right now. Roxs is dormant and I can't really help myself. Silent tears stream down my eyes. I still have hope, my mates will find me.
Third person
“Someone took her?” Rowan asks in awe. “How sure are you?” He asks.
“Lets just check the footage.” Owen tries as hard as he can to compose himself but inside he is going insane.
The doctor rushes to the control room, behind the monitor he clicks on the footage just minutes to the incident and a man is seen carrying Ruby out of the ward room immediately after the nurse goes out.
“Möbius?” Owen shouts knocking the monitor off the table. “That bastard, I'm going to kill him this time, I swear.” He gets out of the hospital in rage.
“Hey can you wait there Owen, did you forget she is our mate too?” Damien asks in rage.
“Of course not, I'm just angered by what my brother has done.” Owen says his fists clenched so hard. “I wonder what he is doing to her now.” His tone turns defeated.
“Hey this is not the time for you two to break down. We need a plan to save Ruby ASAP.” Rowan is the only rational one.
“What do we do?” Damien asks in a low tone.
Rowan explains everything in detail and gives everyone a task. They will use their powers to find their mate.
The entrance to the cave suddenly opens, Ruby is startled knowing that the monster is back. She crouches backwards leaning on the rock behind her waiting for his reaction.
“Follow me now.” A strange voice calls her instead.
“Who are you?” Ruby asks in fear.
“We don't have much time, Möbius is coming in a short while. Follow me ill help you head back home.” The man says. Hearing the word home, Ruby gets off the damp ground and slowly watches her step as she approaches the entrance of the cave.
The man offers his hand, and she takes it.
“Are you okay miss.” He asks as he leads her away from the cave.
Ruby wonders how he knew she was trapped in there, is he really a nice guy. Is he really planning to help me, or I'm getting into more trouble? She thinks to herself.
The man helping Ruby is Alfie, they don't remember each other since their memories were erased, but the bond they had is still there. And Alfie was somehow drawn to the cave, while he was doing his daily runs. For some reason, he ran deeper into the forest than before and that's when he witnessed how Möbius treated Ruby outside the cave. He hid in the bushes and waited for an opportunity to save Ruby. He knew that he was the only hope for her.
It's almost night fall and all that Alfie can pray for is their safe return back. An idea pops into his mind, and suddenly, he halts allowing Ruby take a breather. Her whole body is still so tired, but she pushes herself.
“The only way to get out of here safely is if I carry you on my back. I'm going to turn, and you will hop on my back and hold on tightly to my fur so you wouldn't fall okay.” Alfie says to Ruby.
“Alright.” She speaks and nods at the same time.
Ruby
I wonder why he is helping me, I'm glad he is here, though. Something in me tells me that he isn't a bad person. I feel like I can trust him. It's a really strange feeling.
I turn around as he takes off his clothes to shift. I wonder what Möbius did to my wolf I still can't feel her.
Looking at this strange man's features, I feel like I know him from somewhere. I just follow his lead while trying to recall, but something blocks my thoughts. It's like I hit a wall in my brain every time I try to think.
I turn around as he transforms into his wolf since he has to remove his clothes first. A rattling sound is heard and in a short while a sound from his wolf conforming his transformation. I turn around and the most beautiful wolf I've seen stares at me. His yellow eyes focused on my face since his height is the same as mine standing. He does a gesture, and I understand it immediately. I pick his clothes from the ground, as he crouches, so I can hop on his back.
Surprisingly his back is more comfortable than I thought it would be.
I hold on his neck fur tightly with one hand, since his clothes are on my other arm.
“We can go now.” I say when I feel comfortable enough.
The wolf starts with small strides which turn into a sprint. The wind brushes through my face as my legs try as hard as they can to hold on to the sides of the huge wolf. My thighs start hurting immediately, but I know I have to endure for the sake of myself, and my baby.
The wolf takes careful strides, maneuvering through the woods avoiding all the branches and thick bushes. In no time we get to a clearing, the moon is now high up and my stomach is rumbling like hell. I really need food now. I'm also so tired I might pass out. Luckily now the forest is behind us. I can see lights from a far.
