Chapter XXXIV: THE PAST 1

Marching through the hallway, Liza was fuming. She shouted every maids who are following her to get lost. Her guards were running after her but she curse them all and commanded them to step aside or else she would made sure they'll lost their job. She headed to her room and throw every thing she can touch. Her heart was full of emotion but is very insanity. Her father the alpha, just told her that she will be marrying the next alpha of another clan which cause her blood to boil and shiver in madness.

Liza doesn't want to get married. Even in the age of twenty five, independency is what she always longed. After a moment of ruining things in her room, her father, the alpha, slammed the door open and faced her with authority.

"You have no right to declined me Liza! Roger and I already settled things up and you can do nothing about it! I already give you the right of supremacy in this pack so now, do me this favor to marry Dalion. This, is not for my sake Elle. This for the sake of our clan! our people! Our existence! You and Dalion could create a pups that is indeed powerful!"

"I don't care who he is father! I don't want to get married! I don't want to tied in a relationship I don't feel something to work! Dalion is nothing but a jerk you know that! How could you let him handle me father?" She shouted as she wipe her tears escaping from her eyes. "If Mother is here, I bet she wouldn't let this happen. She wouldn't let me be 'responsible' in a way I'm going to ruined." She said before running to the wide window and turned herself into a large, fury and angry animal. She ran to the woods, up to the hill where she could see the beauty of Galory, her hometown. She turned herself back to her human state not minding her nudity. She stare at the sun setting to the horizon. She let her long hair falls down and cover her parts when someone spoke behind her.

"The bitterness of a heart has nothing to say compare to the sunset. Am I right?"

She look behind and saw tall, masculine man staring at the beauty of ending but unlike her, the way he look at the sunset is not serene as she was for the man is staring at the setting sun with it's orbs ranging like a storm.

"I wonder why you didn't like sunset."

"I do have many memories in mind that is not good and only happened during sunset. Honestly, I prefer moonlight and eclipse "he replied and look at her dead eyes.

"And who are you?" She asked.

"Just call me Ghani. From Burgeon Clan. Nice to meet you Elizabeth."

"I wonder why you keep on following me here."

"Who says I'm following you?" Ghani asked.

"Then why are here whenever I'm here? I thought you hate sunset?"

"I'm not following you but I'm following my heart. And my heart says I wanted to see you." He said while looking directly on her eyes.

"I should go." She said and rose up immediately march down.

"You can run from me Elizabeth. But you know your heart doesn't." He said but she just keep on walking.

She knows. Ghani is somewhat related to her. Not just a friend, or comrade, but a mate. Ghani is her mate. How ridiculous. She went to her sister's room who's busy fixing herself in the mirror. Her sister is such a beauty.

"Elizabeth, didn't you hear about a witch that goes here?"

"A witch?"

"Yes. She's very lovely but she's sad. She's crying because she lost her son."

"Where is she from?"

"Burgeon. I pity her. You should visit here and consult her."

"Alright."

"Uhm, hi. I'm Elizabeth."

"I'm Resie." She said in a low volume.

"You could tell me what happen." She offered and Resie is just staring at her.

"He let my husband die a-and they took away my son. They said he's already dead so I run away."

"Why did he let him die?"

"Because they accused him of something he never done!" Resie shouted. "I will let him pay! I will comeback to you Ghani!" The witch scream that made her shocked to it's cursed name.

'I wish it's not him.'

"Hey Resie. Y-you could stay here in Manchada. I will tell my father.

"Is your father the Alpha?"

"Yes."

"I want to talk to him."

"Soon but right now, you need to rest."

"Fine."

"Are you still seeing that Burgeon boy?" Trinity asked.

"Trinity, I have to tell you something." She said seriously.

"What?" She sat beside her sister.

"Trinity. Don't tell this to anyone alright?"

"What is it?"

"Trinity. He's my mate."

"What?! Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"For heaven's sake! For all of the people why him?!"

"I don't know. Please Trinity. Don't tell to anyone."

"I will try my best. But Eli, I suggest you to tell father. Maybe he could accept it and stop the marriage between you and Dalion."

"I'll try. Wish me luck." She said and hug her sister.

"Elizabeth, are you out of your mind!" Trinity shouts echoed all over the room.

"Trinity I need too!"

"No! You can leave without him Elizabeth. Just stay here!"

"I'm sorry. I love you." Elizabeth chanted before running away and came to see Ghani in their usual spot in the hill.

"I'm so sorry." He said while cupping her face.

"Let's go. Father might see us here."

They run away and headed on the center of the forest of Winterbelle wherein it is secluded with the help of loyal servant of Ghani, Popsy. They built a small house and was living peacefully. Month later, Elizabeth got pregnant and they are very happy. However, as they live a peaceful life, what they didn't know that what surrounds them that time, is the Alpha, together with its people. They capture Ghani and torture him in front of her.

"Father! No pleasee!" She cried.

"I never thought that you'll be this dumb Elizabeth."

"Father, you he's my mate. Why can't you let us live our lives!?"

"Elizabeth. You know you can't marry this man! You have different identity and this man is a murderer!"

"No pleaseee. Stop this father. I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant father!"

"Kill him."

"No! Nooooo! I will leave him. I will leave him, just don't kill him!"

"Are you sure about that?" She look at Ghani and meet his eyes. She was weeping. She knew Ghani doesn't want it, but she know she have to. It's better to lost him but secure that he will live than to lost him forever.

"Yes." She said in a cold voice.

"Release him and get that dumb lady back home." She was crying silently as the guards is holding her. She never look back because she knows if she did, she will just run again to him. She was deeply hurt that she can't stand walking and so the guards just put her above the wolf. She touch her tummy and tears continuously flow to her face followed by a little sob she can't hide anymore. She felt more pain as the sky turned dark and the rain pour hard. She knew it was Ghani and he was weeping, just like her.

One month passed.

"I don't want to go father." She said while staring at the window.

"It is important Elizabeth. Can you just please stop being a sober?!" Her father said and slam the door when it opens again."

"Elizabeth~"

"Get out."

But Trinity doesn't oblige.

"I'm so sorry. When are you going to forgive me?" Trinity was crying.

"I cannot for now so please, get out."

"I will help you get dressed."

"I don't need your help. I just wish I could bring back time and decided not to trust you."

Wedding bells.

This is what she could hear from afar.

She wonder whose wedding it will be.

She also imagine of her being married to Ghani.

'I just wish it could still happen.' she thought. Her baby bump is not still visible but she already having a hard time carrying it. It must be a healthy baby.

When they arrived at the place, there are already a lot of people. Some of them are familiar and some are not. She saw Popsy on the side but he didn't look at her. More like, he can't look at her. He was wearing a white Polo and black pants. She surround her gaze and it feels like something is wrong. Her heart was piercing like something is being ripped. Trinity went to her side to support her and she saw the tear escape from it's eyes.

She decided to wander the place and found out what cause her heart to be torn. She saw a ruin house and went there, she saw a butterfly flying around and somehow, it release some of her sorrow. She loves butterfly. She is in the middle of mesmerizing when she felt a presence behind her.

Ghani.

"Ghani?" She run towards him and hug him.

"I miss you so much!" She was expected him to do the same but to her surprise, Ghani remove her arms around him. He look at her seriously.

"I'm so sorry Elizabeth. I knew you only do this for me. You did your part and now, I'm going to do mine."

"What do you mean?"

"When you chose you left me there so I can live, I knew, it will be the end of us. And so want to thank you, for saving me. I wanna, I just wanna hug you for the last time." And so he did.

"Ghani. Why are you doing this? Are you giving up?"

"I'm doing what's best and that is to let you go."

"The best for me? Are you hearing yourself? The best for me is for you to find a way how you could be with me again. Me and our child."

"I will still protect our child Elizabeth but I want you to accept that I can't be with you. I'm sorry". She look the way he dress and there her question is finally answered.

"You look glorious." She gazed directly at him, as she was about to witnessed the momentous day of their life.

"Please don't make this hard for the both of us. Let's go, the wedding is about to start." He said.

"I still have a question."

"What?"

"Will you love me from the rest of my life?" She asked.

"No, because I will love you from the rest of mine."

And so he left her there, weeping with an aching heart. So this is why her father want her to be here. When a mate, marry another woman, with the blessed of the Moon Goddess, the bond will ripped between the mates and that's why she felt her heart being tortured.

She was watching silently to the two person in front, sharing their own bows and sharing sweet smiles. She cannot feel anything anymore. Like her heart had enough pain for now to feel nothing.

Yes, it's the most momentous day of their life.

Ghani, marrying his partner for a lifetime.

And her, watching him being happy as her heart was broken into pieces.
