Chapter XIX: URGES

"Are you listening to me?" kit snap her back to reality.

"W-what are you saying? Again please."

"I said I'm glad the town isn't so much ruined."

"Yeah, I'm glad too."

"Can you tell me what is bothering you?"

"Nothing much. It's just the accident in the library. I thought I'm going to die. If I wasn't saved by Chase, maybe they'll found me dead now."

"Wait wait wait. Wait a second. Who saved you?"

"Chase."

"Don't tell me it's the Madrigal."

"And if he is? Is there any problem?"

"Nothing." He said. "Nothing much."

They got home and so her mom inspect her up and down. She was very worried.

"Mom, I'm fine, you don't have to worry that much."

"Not worry that much? Look at you! You have so many gauge and bandages. Are they deep?" Her mom was worried.

"Mom, you worry too much. Stop stressing yourself, I can handle this."

"Fine. But how about your schoolwork?"

"Well, I found out that Kit here loves veterinary too. Maybe a 'little' help from him won’t affect his duty that much. Right Kit?"

"Uh, yes. Maybe." He said, glaring at her. Since Kit started to live with them, she cannot deny that she's happy because she felt like she has an older brother which she dreams the most but is already impossible to happen.

"Good then eat now and after that clean up yourself. No training for today. Do you want me to help you?"

"No. I can do this, mom, thanks."

After dinner, she went to her room and slowly remove the bandages over her legs and arms. The wounds are deep and blood still coming out. She washed it with soap and water until the bleeding is gone and clean herself up. She put another clean gauge and bandages before going downstairs where her mom, Diana and Kit are staying.

"So what we do?"

"We need to wait and do what we can. Brige will be fully undergo the phase five days from now. We have to trust her that she can."

"That earthquake is a massive one. If you haven't controlled it, people on the central will be all dead by now."

"Hilda will never let us live in peace, I knew it."

"That bitch is making her moves."

She was busy listening to their conversation when she decided to go back upstairs with the thought in her head, who's Hilda?

She was about to close her and rest when suddenly, her phone beep. She look at the sender and was surprise to see,

Chase.

*How are you?*

*Much better than earlier. Thank you for saving me.*

*You owe me your life.*

*I know that's why I'm thanking you.*

*Thank you for me is not enough.*

*Then, what do you want me to do?*

*Come her at our house tomorrow and assist me. I'm sick.*

*Where are your cousins?*

*They're going to their parents tomorrow. I'll expect you to be here tomorrow 10am. Conscience is hard to fight.*

She drops her phone and breathe heavily. She's thinking that for some reason, she would help him. Besides, if not for him, maybe she would be dead by now. But then, her mind again remembered the thing she was thinking earlier. The animal she save in to Burgeon's forest has the same feature as Ericson as she first time saw her being a wolf. Conclusion hits her.

The first time she saw them, she knew there's something in them. And when she tried to open up to her friends, they were like making up for her to stop thinking about her feature. But now that she know that they all know about the existence of werewolf, there's a high possibility that they're just making up things for her to believe. Second she felt uneasiness at Ericson when he knows it was Chase who save her and third, why kit knows them? She remembered him asking if it was a Madrigal who saved her. She knew there was something wrong to the both of them. She can feel it. And then she gazed at her phone. Chase invites her to their home tomorrow. It could possibly be a chance for her to know. And she will find it out.

"Are you sure you don't want to take Kit with you?" Her mom asked.

"No mom. I'll be fine. I'm just visiting a friend." She said and grab a fresh red apple from the kitchen counter.

"Be careful and call immediately when you feel something alright?"

"Alright mom. Bye. I love you."

"I love you too. Take care."

She drove her car down the central town and to the exit of Winterbelle not minding the little sore she felt. She wants to find it out and maybe this could be a chance. She enters the Burgeon and path of the forest the cousins house is located. Great thing she had a strong memory, she thought. The moment she saw the big tree, she knew she was already there. She glances at her watch and notice that she drive only one hour, much earlier than what she was expected.

It was 9:45 am. She hopped out and went down to the door, knocking thrice and stay stood waiting for him to open up the door. Seconds later, a broad topless body emerge from the door, and so she tried hard to just look directly in its eyes preventing to look at the gorgeous feature below.

"Hi." She greeted.

"Come in and make me some breakfast." He commanded.

"Would you let me sit first?"

"I call you here to serve me and not to visit. My room is in the black door he said before going downstairs leaving her without any idea of what to cook."

But it's fine, she thought. No eyes to watch her means easily access on the evidence she was looking for. She surrounds and her gaze and noticed the picture frames on the shelves. She went closer and saw the cousins moments having a good time in the woods, some are in the mountains but what caught her attention the most is a picture of them wearing the same necklace with blue stone pendant. Unfortunately, aside from that, there nothing more she could connect with to think of them as something she doesn't want to.

She went to the kitchen and open their storage to think what dish she could cook. In the end, she chose to prepare chicken with pineapple sauce and pasta as carb. She also got a medicine and glass water. Putting all together in a tray, she went down the aisle and look at the door, the black door which is in the last room. Just like above, she could see nothing to use as an evidence. The house is clean and neat and no signs of them being a werewolf as she thought.

'What if you're just making up things? What if that animal is just really one of a kind? Maybe from other country. They're rich. They could afford everything they wanted.' she thought.

She knocks on the door three times before opening it. She found him on a bed, bury himself on a blanket and sleeping. She placed the tray in the headboard and went closer to him to wake him up. But as she saw the face, she couldn't stop staring at his beautiful face. He was a fallen angel, that is living peacefully on earth. Just as she touches his forehead to felt the warm, Chase eyes suddenly open and fix directly on her.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm just checking you."

"By touching me?"

"I'm just checking how hot you are.

"You could just use the thermometer." He said.

"Why would I if I could just use my hand?" She helps him to sit up and place the bed table in front of him.

"What's this?"

"It's a chicken. Just eat, don't ask."

"You could take a rest."

"I will thank you." And just as about she left, he hold her wrist.

"Just rest here. A-at the couch." She look at his couch, and she couldn't deny that it was inviting, look comfy."

"Alright." She pulled her wrist, and so he let it go. She seated on the couch, and it was soft, she rest her head on, and close her eyes, unconsciously, falls into a deep sleep.
