Chapter 20 Feigned Intentions
After dinner, Jennifer called Marlowe to let her know she'd be out of town for a few days on a business trip, so she wouldn't worry.
Despite her serious injuries, none of her bones were broken, and she managed to get up and move around the next day.
That evening, she took a walk with the help of crutches. The garden was bright with yellow flowers in bloom. Jennifer walked on the soft grass, the sunset's glow gentle and warm. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the fragrant scent of the plants.
Around the corner, she heard a soft, feminine voice. "Eugene, I was so scared during the car accident. Thank goodness you came to save me."
Was that Aria and Eugene?
Jennifer looked towards the flower bushes and saw a couple sitting on a bench. The woman wore a hospital gown, and the man was dressed in a sharp suit.
Eugene spoke tenderly, "You're my girlfriend. I'm just glad I wasn't far away that day and could get to you in time. You have no idea how terrified I was when I heard you were in danger."
Jennifer flashed a mocking smile. He used to speak to her with the same tender tone when they were together.
Aria replied shyly, "Eugene, you swooped in like a superhero and saved me. I've been thinking about you all day today. Can you kiss me again?"
Looking at her adoring eyes, Eugene smiled and said, "Sure." He planted a gentle kiss on Aria's forehead.
As Aria closed her eyes, he couldn't help but think of Jennifer's pleading gaze that day. He did feel a bit of guilt, but no matter how much he loved Jennifer, it couldn't compare to the power and status he craved. A man without money or influence has no right to talk about love.
"Not here!" Aria pouted playfully. She had been injured, and Eugene hadn't been intimate with her for several days. In their passionate phase, she wasn't used to the lack of affection.
Eugene was about to say, "You're still hurt. I don't want to cause you pain," when he looked up and saw Jennifer standing across from them. She wore a thin hospital gown, her lips curled in a mocking smile. Who knows how long she had been standing there?
Sensing his distraction, Aria tried to turn around to see what was up but Eugene quickly pulled her back into his arms.
Jennifer met Eugene's panicked gaze, gave him a silent, indifferent smile, and turned to walk away.
Eugene suddenly felt a surge of anger. Watching him kiss another woman, was Jennifer not even a little jealous or hurt? How could she be so indifferent?
In a fit of frustration, he grabbed Aria's face and kissed her hard, as if taking out his anger. He was kissing Aria, but his mind was on Jennifer.
Aria had never been treated so roughly by him before. She struggled in his arms, her fists pounding on his chest, her voice breaking as she protested, "Eugene, you're hurting me."
Eugene held her hands and continued kissing her for a while longer before stopping. His eyes were filled with desire, and he panted lightly, "Aria, I want you so bad. I've been holding back these past few days." He took her hand and placed it on his heated cock.
Aria shyly pulled her hand back, blushing, "I misunderstood you." She was touched and sweetly reassured, thinking he was just worried about her injury. "Let's go back to the room. I can help you."
Eugene gave her a deep look and scooped her up in his arms.
In the VIP room, Eugene unleashed his desire on Aria. She noticed he was rougher and more forceful than usual, but she was satisfied, lost in the intensity of their lovemaking. As she climaxed, she bit Eugene's shoulder and asked seductively, "Eugene, are you extra excited today because we're in the hospital?"
Eugene silenced her with another kiss, thrusting back into her wet, quivering vagina, making her moan uncontrollably.
Aria was more open and bold than Jennifer in bed, more responsive too. He should have felt satisfied, yet he still felt empty inside. Was it because he loved Jennifer more? Eugene couldn't help but question himself.
Afterward, Eugene went to the balcony to smoke. The night was deep, and he looked at the garden lights below, wondering which room Jennifer was in. Even though he had satisfied his desires with Aria, he couldn't forget Jennifer's cold, indifferent eyes. He would rather she hated him than be so unaffected.
Aria finished her shower and saw Eugene's lonely silhouette. She walked over and leaned against his back, asking softly, "What are you thinking about? You seem lost in thought."
Eugene turned around and hugged her, "Thinking about you. I'm lucky to have such a wonderful girlfriend."
Aria was young, beautiful, and lively, but most importantly, she came from a powerful family with valuable connections, making her the perfect choice for a wife.
"Good. So you must spoil me and love me forever!" Aria said proudly.
"Okay." Eugene looked at her with a gentle expression. He didn't love her, but he could pretend, all the way until they got married and he took control of Vitality Pharmaceuticals Group.
They embraced for a while until Aria suddenly sighed, "That day, you rushed to save me and didn't care about Ms. Brown. I wonder how she's doing now. She probably dislikes me even more. She didn't even want to help me design jewelry before."
Eugene tapped her nose, "Focus on getting better first. You still have time to worry about others. Don't let it affect our engagement party."
The engagement party was just a month away, and there was still so much to prepare. Aria felt the urgency. Although her injuries weren't severe, she needed to take care of them to avoid scarring.
"I'll sleep now. Eugene, are you staying with me tonight?" Aria asked, peeking out from under the covers.
Eugene stubbed out his cigarette, "No, I still have some work to finish."
"Okay." Aria pouted, "But think of me before you sleep. Only dream of me."
Eugene promised, but he didn't go straight home after leaving the room.
