Ninety
The night before, Raina had drank quite a while after leaving Tyler’s room, so she woke up with a raging headache. But, that was not all. She had also woke up with a throb between her legs, and with a very aroused feeling.
When she came down after having a hot shower, she found Tyler at the stove, cooking. Well, that was a sight she wasn’t used to seeing. At all.
It was then she remembered a horrifically clear memory of the things she had done… and said last night. She started to make a list of what she could remember herself saying.
“Take me, Tyler. I'm not afraid of what comes next.” Oh damn. She wanted to cover her face with her hands, and just hide, but before she could skedaddle out of the kitchen, Tyler turned to her.
“Good morning, Rain. I made you breakfast.” He said.
She pushed up her brows. “What’s this? Breakfast in bed after having a hot sex gone wrong?” she asked, meaning it as a joke, but he just glared at her, causing her to just press her lips together.
“Thank you.” She said when she finally found her voice again, then she walked to the table to have her seat.
He soon pushed a plate of toast and eggs, with a peppered chicken bacon to her. “Here. Do you want more eggs?” he asked and she shook her head.
“Okay. I’ll just make some more coffee. I see there are things that need to be replaced here in the kitchen. I'll make a list, and maybe Scott can go get them later today.” he said, not really looking at her but she nodded.
Speaking of list, she remembered she was listing all the stupid things that had escaped her mouth last night. Oh goodness, she had been a very bad girl.
Out of nowhere, suddenly, she remembered Tyler’s words about how he wanted to fuck her against the wall, and her toast went down the wrong pipe, causing her to choke on it and broke into a coughing fit.
Tyler pushed up his eyebrows. “You okay?” He asked, his voice sounding all cool, calm, and collected like it had since she came into the kitchen. It was as if nothing had happened, and she wasn’t sure whether to feel relieved or be offended.
“Yes,” she gasped, coughing a bit more, before she grabbed her water and downed half of it until the cough subsided.
“You should eat more carbs, Raina,” he said when he saw her pushing aside her bacon and eggs. “Might help with the hangover.” He added.
“How do you know I have a hangover?” she asked him.
“You came down here last night and had some shots from the vodka before going up to your room, so I know. Plus, with the way you’re looking so sluggish, it’s a safe guess.” He said.
His acknowledgment that any part of last night happened only intensified Raina’s embarrassment. She wished she could wipe all the memory of it from his and her head, but that wasn’t possible.
Raina toyed with her fork, avoiding his gaze. “I guess I owe you an apology for… whatever happened last night.”
Tyler leaned against the counter, crossing his arms. “Whatever happened? That’s one way to put it.”
She groaned, dropping her head into her hands. “Fine, I knew you hated what I did, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again. Let’s just forget about it, okay?” she said, looking at him and waiting for him to either nod or shake his head.
A shadow of disappointment crossed Tyler's face, but he quickly masked it. “Yeah, let's just forget it all happened,” he said flatly, his tone giving nothing away.
As if Raina could forget. Those words he had said to her last night kept echoing in her mind. “I wanted to make love to you, then fuck you until you can't even speak anymore; until your throat is sore and your voice is gone from screaming my name."
The memory sent a rush of heat through her body. She shifted uncomfortably on the stool, hoping to relieve the ache building between her legs, but the movement only made things worse. She clenched her hands around her water glass and took a long drink, trying to cool the fire burning beneath her skin.
She hadn't meant to say those things last night, but that didn't mean she hadn't meant them. Now, with Tyler standing there, calm and composed, she felt like a fool.
"In that case," she said, forcing her voice to remain steady, "the best thing we can do is pretend it never happened. Forget it and move on."
Tyler didn't respond immediately. Instead, he leaned back against the counter, his grey eyes fixed on her as he took a slow sip of coffee. The casual movement shouldn't have been attractive, but somehow, it was. Everything about him was.
"Fine by me," he said finally, his voice neutral. Then, after a brief pause, he added, "Except for one thing."
Raina tensed. Her fingers gripped the edge of the table as she struggled to meet his gaze. "And what's that?" she asked cautiously, her heart racing.
He tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "You really need to stop taunting me, Raina. I'm serious."
Her stomach flipped. Was he joking? Was he angry? She couldn't tell.
“Fine. I hear you. I hope it never happened again. If it does, then I give you permission to kill me.” She said, glaring at him. Trust him to do this to her when she was trying to forget how humiliated she was when she in his room last night, practically begging him to make love to her, touch her, make her feel like a woman.
He smirked, and the sight of it made her heart skip. “I’ll pass. I like you alive,” he said, his voice low, almost teasing. Then he added with a smirk. “I might find another way to send you to heaven though.”
What? Was that sentence pun intended, or she was just too on the edge and everything was sounding sexual to her? Whatever, she doesn’t care. All she knew was, she was going to get her revenge against him. Sooner or later.
