Chapter 43 I’m Not Sorry

Chapter 43 I’m Not Sorry
Raina’s heart sank. They had finally put aside the obstacles in their way to give into their bond, only to have these obstacles still prove to exist. How can she be his Luna if she didn’t birth him a blood heir?
“Even if you found the culprit,” Jacqueline said. Her voice was soft and gentle tinged with grim sadness. “It doesn’t mean it’ll end with them. A spell, especially done correctly, will continue even if the ones that hired them perished.”
Tears of frustration filled her eyes as she observed the information, realizing the impact of her sister-in-law’s words had rung inside of her. Even though they had fought to get this point, it didn’t matter. The World Council and their likeminded alleys still could win.
No, she wouldn’t allow them to force them to bend to their will. She wouldn’t allow it. She refused to allow them an ounce of control and power that could trap Kian. It was obvious they were trying to control her fated mate this entire time and had been trying since the very beginning.
Now more than ever, she realized that Mia had been inserted in Kian’s life. It was through Mia that they could control him by association. The World Council must’ve known about his ancient bloodline, because why else would they go through all this trouble to shackle him.
“What do I have to do?” she finally asked.
Meri immediately looked over to her. “This is wrong, Luna,” she begged. “Alpha Kian should be here to decide with you. I don’t want to speak out of turn because I fear for my own life, but because it would kill me to know you got hurt on my watch.”
Frozen with slight shock at the title Meri addressed her with, Raina’s eyes slid to her body guard and saw the scared shewolf beneath her tough exterior.
“Meri, I have to do this,” she told her gently, recognizing the cost was too high if Kian sacrificed his authority to save her from their punishment. She would rather die than let him bow down to them. “They’ve been trying to control Kian since he was a youth. They won’t stop.”
Raina was tired of all this chaos and pain, but nothing was ever that simple. Their union and bond was forged by the strength of their will and their character. They were both stubborn and would sacrifice themselves in order to save the other… except she had taken an oath as his trusted Beta to save her Alpha even against himself.
She had to try for his sake… and hers.
She would suffer by their hands until he broke. They would make him watch until he was a shadow of who he was truly was. No, she would never allow him to kneel before the likes of snakes and devils.
Shaking her head, she was his Luna, but she had been his Beta first. She would do right by him. “When they realize that they have the biggest bargaining chip, you know they’re going to force Kian to do unthinkable things and I won’t have him be someone’s leashed wolf at my expense. I’d rather die than to see that day.”
Meri’s mouth opened slightly. Raina knew she was thinking up different scenarios, but she knew she would come to the same conclusion. Tears slipped down her cheeks at the reality of the situation. Raina watched Samson struggle with himself, because he wanted to comfort her but he knew didn’t have a right to try. Raina gave a hard look and Samson swallowed until he nodded his head. He finally moved forward, wrapping Meri into his arm. She struggled against him for a moment before she gave into his comfort.
Raina turned to Jacqueline. “What do I need to do?”

Raina’s body itched from Jacqueline’s spell. Her sister-in-law carved a sigil into both of her arms with a ceremonial knife to store the energy needed for this spell to work. Every time Kian and her would have any sort of intimacy, whether if they were thinking of each other a certain way, it would store the memory and feeling of that pleasure. Since that pleasure was also accompanied by love from a fated bond, the spell would be extra potent.
She knew Kian would kill her when he returned for her, but she needed to harness their intense sexual energy in order to counteract the other spell’s intention. Jacqueline had said when memories would flood her, the memory of their pleasure fueled by love and lust would push out the negative effects.
Jacqueline had said that she had put a block over the territory to ensure the protection of the kingdom. She told her the only one that could contact him would be her, because she was his fated mate and the strength of their bond could override spells and enchantments with assistance.
It was a little beyond midnight. Raina gazed outside at the full moon. Jacqueline had said with optimal fullness of the moon would enhance the spell so it had to be tonight to start this. Once the spell had begun, there would be no way to stop it, which would mean Kian and her would need to complete the spell no matter what.
She took the sacred oils that Jacqueline had given her and anointed her forehead, the backs of her hands, and the tops of her feet. The spell needed to start with her and she knew Kian would be furious with her when he found out, but there was no way around it.
She refused to be his downfall.
Jacqueline had told her that Kian was part of a prophecy that foretold of a great Alpha that would become the new authority and become king over the circle to rule over the land. She was certain Kian was that great Alpha and Raina felt it in her bones that he was. It explained their fierce need to leash and collar him by forcing him to be their lap dog.
Taking deep breaths in and out, she tried to calm down her nerves. Moon Goddess, she was really about to do this, knowing he could feel her. She wondered what he would do. Would he mindlink her? Would he get off on her touching herself?
Vivid images of her fated mate pleasuring himself instantly warmed her body. Her breath caught as her imagination dipped into her lust-addled brain. Closing her eyes, she thought of him in his bed in his Alphas’s suite. She envisioned him propped up against the headboard. His back pressed against the plush pillows. His incredible upper torso on full display from his sculpted pecs to every single ab on his washboard stomach until the blankets and bedding bunched up on his lap.
Her hand smoothed down her heated skin, flushing with her desire for him. She imagined that large right hand of his disappearing beneath the fabric and wrapping around that very male part of him. She watched as the fabric shifted as his hand moved beneath the blanket. The way his head fell back against the headboard as the movements quickened and his face contorted with his building pleasure.
The sheen of sweat glistened on his skin as the moonlight danced across his sunkissed skin—
Raina, what are you doing? Kian’s amused voice entered in her mind.
A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as her fingers danced over nub. Thinking of you.
I can feel that, he growled into her mind.
She chuckled to herself as she eased a finger inside of herself. I’m thinking of you getting off. She slapped a hand over her mouth to keep from moaning out loud. I’m thinking of your hand around your big dick. Thinking of you jerking off.
She felt his pleasure spike at her confession. A wicked smile lit her face as she added two more fingers inside of her. Moon Goddess, Kian, I’m so wet right now.
Fuck. She heard Kian’s curse. You’re killing me right now.
Her fingers alternated from plunging inside of herself to massaging that nub, heightening her pleasure. She could feel the rising heat of his pleasure deep within her. She wished she could feel his touch on her skin. She wanted to feel his kisses. She wanted to feel his dick deep inside of her.
And she gasped when she swore she felt his hand touch — a ghost of familiar caress. She moaned, begging him to touch her. She gasped when she felt the weight of body over her. Her eyes opened and her eyes widened when she looked straight into his eyes. What the hell?
Her panic almost got the best of her and the vision of him started to blur, but he grabbed her face and kissed her. It felt like exactly how it did when he was physically with her. She didn’t understand what was happening. How this could actually be happening?
He chuckled at her confusion as he kissed the corner of her mouth and trailed down her jaw to her throat.
Kian, she gasped. I don’t understand what’s happening.
His mouth sucked in the sensitive spot on her neck and she felt the actually pressure and wetness of his mouth. Fated mates perks. Our bond is really strong to be able to do this.
This is all in our imagination? she asked him as he continued to put pressure on her skin.
He felt the lick of his tongue and she groaned. She felt him push her thighs apart. She could feel the weight of his hips against her. How was this even possible? How could… A sharp intake of air filled her lungs as he pushed his thickness inside of her, stretching her wide. Her arms automatically wrapped around his body, clinging to him at the fullness of him.
Everything feels so real, she whimpered in his mind.
Better than your daydream of me, isn’t it? he whispered back.
When he moved within her, she could only nod. She didn’t know how any of it made sense. She only knew that he felt real. This felt real. She felt the mattress beneath her. She even felt when he grabbed her arms and pushed them down on the mattress. Soon, his hands found hers, entangling their hands together as he pressed them down above her head.
Soon, they were chasing after their feverish highs. Their pleasures intertwined, mixing until they blended together as if there were no boundaries between them. Their pleasure exploded, burning through her to the point of exquisite pain. She felt the sigils activate and she groaned, feeling his innate hidden power surge up like a tidal wave and she screamed at it swamped her.
The intensity of it was too much, but she held on. Everything she didn’t was for him. She felt his sheer panic. She barely could see him as the blinding light consumed her and shattering her into pieces. For a moment, she didn’t feel like she had a form. She was just weightless, feeling the burn of energy moving through her formless body.
What did you do?
She could feel his anger and fear.
Raina! What the fuck did you do?
She wanted to soothe him. She wanted to lie to him and tell him that everything was okay… that there was nothing to fear, but she couldn’t hide her own fear and panic, but she remembered that even if death took her that he’d still be safe from their wicked ways.
I’m not sorry… she whispered to him. I’ll always love you.
The light faded to black.
Unimaginable pain splintered.
And then, she couldn’t feel a thing.
