PRESENT TIME
Mikey was interrupted as the door opened as the doctor walked out of the operating room. He quickly shook off his day dream as he stood up, to hear what the doctor had to said.
“Doctor? What is the outcome?” Mikey said as the doctor shook his head and said,
“I am sorry but I am afraid he didn’t make it.
“I am sorry but we tried everything we could to save him.” The doctor said as Mikey got up from the chair as he said,
“What? What do you mean that you couldn’t save him, is this not supposed to be the best hospital in the district?” Mikey asked angrily as he dragged the doctor by the collar.
“Please calm down sir, we tried our best but it wasn’t enough. I am sory but please let me go.” He said as Mikey puunched him on his face before he was being dragged away by some security guards.
“Let go of me!” He said shrugging himself as the doctor nodded his head for them to let him go.
“I am sorry sir. I understand your pain. We will be rolling him out in some few hours so if you want to say your goodbyes or you have anyone to call to meet him, I suggest you do that, once again. I am sorry for your loss.” He said as he turned to leave leaving Mikey at the door of the ward as Mikey dropped his hands on his head. He knew it, he killed Michael. He couldn’t believe that he killed his own best friend because of his foolishness. He didn’t want to go inside because he didn’t want it to be true. Maybe if he denied the death, then somehow he would miraculous wake up, but he knew that was not going to happen. He had to man up and beg his dead best friend for forgiveness. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the door as he walked in, and saw that his friend had been disconnected from all the tubes and machines which just made him realize that he was indeed dead.
He slowed his step as he walked to the bed to see Michael sleeping so peacefully as tears dropped out from his eyes. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. But it was true, his best friend and crush was really dead and he didn’t even get a chance to even confess his love to him not that it was going to matter as he was set to marry a lady already. And Michael is….was straight. Great now he had to refer to him as in the past tense. This was too hard a pill to swallow. Grabbing his hands, he let his head rest on his body as he cried for forgiveness.
“Michael, I am so sorry that I… I am sorry, I just want this to be a bad dream. I swear I didn’t know what it was, I was hypnotized and drugged and that is no lame ass excuse to give because your life was the cost and I should have been stronger to resist…. I don’t even know what I am saying but I wanted you to know that I love you and I promise to avenge your death.”
“You suck at apologies, did anyone ever tell you that. Good heavens now I wish I was really dead, because this has got to be the most awful apology I have ever heard.” Michael groaned as Mikey quickly shot up from his body as he saw Michael looking at him with a smirk on his face.
“Michael I thought you….the doctor said that you… how?” He said utterly confused as he poked at Michael.
“Are you really that dumb, and stop poking me, I am not a ghost. I told the Doctor to tell you that I died, I wanted to know how you would react.” He said as he tried to sit up and Mikey helped him.
“Oh fuck!” He said as he slapped his forehead as Michael looked at him and cocked his head.
“What happened? Aren’t you happy that I am alive?” He said as Mikey shook his head and replied,
“Not that, I totally punched the doctor. Shit! Now I feel like crap.” He said as Michael slammed his forehead and said,
“I will remind you to tip him very well. So back to what you said, did you mean it?” He asked as Mikey looked at him confused.
“Are you really going to play dumb?” He asked as Mikey swallowed hard as he tried to think about what Michael could possibly be thinking but he wasn’t a mind reader so he had no idea what to expect.
“I have no idea what you are talking about?” He said avoiding eye contact with him as Michael rolled his eyes and said,
“You told me you loved me, just now. Does that refresh your memory?” He said as Mikey suddenly turned red a bit as he started coughing.
“What I meant was…agape love. You know, you are my best friend and everything. I think this room is getting stuffy, should I open up the window?” He said trying to create a diversion to escape but Michael pulled him back by his hand and crashed his lips on his as Mikey’s eyes flew open. He couldn’t believe that this was actually happening.
“What the hell was that for?” Mikey said as Michael broke off the kiss and stared into his eyes.
“Maybe it was really agape love, sorry.” He said shrugging as Mikey cursed before he kissed Michael this time around, as Michael kissed him back as Mikey pushed him on the bed and ravished his mouth, biting it as he allowed himself not to think about the consequences. This was a rare chance that he had so he was going to take opportunity of it. He almost got turned on, when he heard Michael whimper in pain and he pulled away. It seemed that Michael was unconsciously applying pressure on the bandaged area so it was hurting him. Mikey cleared his throat as he muttered something about going out for a walk when he turned and left before Michael could say anything. He barely had time to think about what just happened as his phone was buzzing. He checked the time, it was already 8pm in the night.
“He looked at the caller ID,he saw that it was Black.” He picked the call as Black said,
“How is Michael? Is he okay?” He asked as Mikey cleared his throat and replied,
“He will survive, he is out of the critical stage.” It was on the tip of his tongue to apologize to Black for trying to kill him but he just couldn’t seem to do it.
“Good how long do you think he has before he can get back into the business. I need a good IT man to track something for me.” He added as Mikey got interested and said,
“We will get out of the hospital tomorrow. Who are you tracking? Is something wrong?” He asked as Black heaved a sigh and replied,
“Casita is missing.”
