Chapter 124: New Found Words
Chapter 124: New Found Words
Sylvia pov.
My eyes travelled above the computer for the nth time, making sure the coast was clear before I worked my way through the computer, entering into the school's system and inputting Gary's ID.
Hopefully he doesn't get in trouble for this and no one is suspicious about it either.
Quite a lot of student files were in the mix, luckily all I had to do was to type in Peggy's name and her file should pop up.
“P.E.G.G.Y Ross,” hitting the enter key and waiting for it to search the system for any Peggy. It was taking quite some time and I was starting to get anxious.
C'monnnnnnn
“Ah, there we go.”
Her name popped up and I scurried to the mouse as the cursor hovered before clicking on her file and letting it burst forth. I stared at the name on the file, my features contorting in confusion.
I'm sorry did I open the wrong file?
That wasn't the case because the picture on the file was of my dear friend, but the name however I just couldn't understand, why the hell did it say Peggy Milton?
It's probably just a coincidence.
I didn't believe that though. After staring at the name for a solid five seconds, I decided to find out more about her by scrolling down because it seemed everyday I realised I knew nothing.
Her record gave me a detailed round down, from her blood type to her rhesus factor, health records as well as family records, mainly just her parents who were also her guardians as well and the same name appeared.
This couldn't be as much of a coincidence as it was meant to be. She was a hunter, just like Dalton was and yet I only find out now that they are related?
They are fucking related!!!
I was freaking out, how could I have never known, this was absolutely ridiculous. My eyes scanned the screen for more information but there wasn't much really.
So engrossed in the screen, I jerked the second a hand landed on the counter, Gary stood with a smile, “Are you done yet?”
I quickly exited the school's record, closing down Peggy's details. A broad smile plastered on my features, “Yes, yes of course, thank you so much, I… have gotten what I needed,” nodding in satisfaction.
I vacated his potions for him, giving him a brief hug afterwards, “I'll see you later, yeah?” hinting at our part time at the diner to which he nodded, “Alright, thanks again.”
And with that, I left the administrative block. The smile I had on my face dropped the minute I was outside. What's to say Peggy didn't know about me all along from her brother?
How could I have not known about this the entire time?
All along, I had known her as Peggy Ross, never as a Milton. She never really used that name quite often. Groaning in frustration, I made my way back to my room.
She knows!!
There was no way she wouldn't have, and all these time? Why hadn't she taken me out yet? What was she waiting for? Perhaps for me to lead her to the others?
She needs to keep me around as bait?
This was more confusing than I thought and I really couldn't decide.
Thinking about it more clearly, now I could understand her hatred towards us, I had killed her brother.
Oh God!!
I clasped a hand over my mouth at the sudden realization. I had killed her brother and she was out for revenge against me.
Not me, per se, but the version that has scorched her brother into ashes. The night of the full moon returned back to me, the hatred that gleamed behind her eyes.
I finally arrived in the confines of my room, but didn't expect to be receiving any visitors, especially not one that has been out of my head, “Prudence, what are you doing here?”
My expression became dry and I really didn't have time for her shenanigans.
“What, I can't see a pack member?” She joked in a tiny innocent voice, but I knew she was anything but innocent.
My teeth grinded against each other and all I wanted to do was run my claws through her abdomen. For obvious reasons, I didn't trust Prudence, I had learnt a valuable lesson.
“You have information that can help us, you should be willing to share, hence why I am here,” she announced, her hands open as though ready to receive whatever I had to offer.
Arching a brow as she waited, “I do not have anything for you, you can get the hell out,” I proceeded to go further into the room, dumping my back pack at the corner of the bed.
“You can't talk to me like that, I am still your Beta.”
Now I chuckled, “My Beta? Please, I said I didn't want anything to do with you lots, you must have missed that with your oversized ego.”
I turned around, coming face to face with her. Prudence's face had turned a bit red, a forced smirk on her lips that slightly trembled but she fought hard enough to not let it show, “You really have some guts now, don't you?”
I was also surprised that I had responded to her in such manner but after what they did, I really didn't give two flying fucks no more about them.
“There's the door,” pointing to the door behind her.
She forced a smile onto her face instead, “I know this reaction, and you don't have to be so defensive, I can forgive this transgression.”
I shook my head, “You can take your forgiveness and shove it up your ass, I'm not interested, get the hell out!”
“I wonder what your mother might think of these new words you've found.”
My eyes widened in surprise.
“I don't think she would approve of them, do you?”
I put the inside of my cheeks so hard I tasted the metallic ting of blood.
