Chapter 15: Chapter Fifteen

Iris:

Cirdan took us to his room where we proceeded to have a long make-out session, interspaced with us talking about little things we felt each other should know and with the talking, I learnt that he was aware I was his mate since the first time we met. That was why he gave me the pendant that has always been in his family, one made for each mate of his family, mine had small modifications from his mother’s own.

At first I was hurt, wondering why he did not say anything, but he said that he had been waiting for me to get my footing, but it did make sense, why he placed me under his protection and was always watching me, he made an effort for me, and I made things difficult for him by not talking to him.

After I had apologized and he had also, we were still getting to know each other when a knock sounded on the door.

Cirdan went to open the door and whoever he saw at the door, made him use his body to close the gap that the open door created while he glanced back at me.

“I knew that you would not be able to keep your hands off her, how far have you gotten with her…” Finn's voice sounded.

“Nothing that it is any of your business what goes on between me and my mate, but nothing has happened so stop your ranting and tell me the reason why you are at my door before I slam the door at your face.” Cirdan responded, his voice was calm like he was not angry but the bond between us was steadily growing stronger and I could feel his anger and irritation although he was more irritated.

I stood up from the bed to wear my top, the only thing which Cirdan and I removed, wondering why really was he here, he could not be that dense not to realized that I and Cirdan needed privacy right now. Even when it comes to students who see their mates in school, the school usually gives them a few days for them to settle their bonds before they have to resume going to classes.

“Okay.” Finn sounded calmer now. “Iris and our parents are with the principal; I was sent to call you two.”

“Why are our parents being involved?” Cirdan started and Finn must have done something because Cirdan released a frustrated sigh as he cursed out loud. “Fuck.”

“But honey, are you sure?” My father, King Elros asked me, petting my head. I raised my eyes to look at him in shock and he shook his head. “Right, that was a very stupid question, I am sorry. Of course, you are sure who your mate is, after all when you know, you know.”

“Good job baby.” Tehisa, Cirdan's mother hugged her son. After introductions were made, she had told me to call her by her name since my mother would probably not like the fact that her daughter is also referring to another woman as a mother. It was still too early for me to tell her that I didn’t care about my mother's thoughts.

“Why is no one seeing what is wrong with this?” Ared, Cirdan's father asked.

Cirdan body tensed. “One would think you are not happy for me Father.” Cirdan bit out.

“Of course, I am happy for you, what I am not happy about is people outside this door who are not going to be feeling the same way as I am, they would try to divide you two.” Ared pointed out the door of the principal’s office that was at this moment closed and warded so that nobody other than those in this room could hear the conversation going on in here.

“Why would people try to do that?” I asked alarmed, my heart already beating fast and hard at the thought of being forcefully separated from Cirdan.

Cirdan's arms wrapped around me. “You need to calm down Love, my father said that they would try not that they would succeed okay?” He pinned my head with his hands so I could stare at him, and his gaze made my mini panic attack subside.

“Okay.” I whispered as I leaned forward, wanting a kiss. He also reciprocated my action until my father cleared his throat and he jumped back.

“Good, let’s not forget that her father is in the room, the next time that wants to happen, you might be her mate, but she is always going to be my little girl which means that there is no mauling of my daughter’s lips in my presence okay?” My father said, by the time he asked if he was understood, my cheeks were so red I fear they would not turn back to their normal color.

“Sorry sir.” Cirdan apologized and although I did not lift my head, I felt my father nod.

“Their blood together will be too strong.” My mother stated and I glared at her.

“Others will not like that fact true, but they would just have to make do with it, the capacity to choose mates is beyond us. I will not let my son be mateless because of other people’s fears.” Tehisa responded and I was tempted to switch mothers with my mate.

“That does not change the fact that there will be others who would try to separate them, and they can involve the council in this.” Ared answered.

Our parents were quiet for a while before my father shrug. “Well, then the children would just have to keep the fact that they are mates a secret for the now. At least until they are done with school, then they can fight well with anyone who dares to put asunder between them.”

“That is not a bad idea.” Ared agreed after a while of quietness. “I am honored that your daughter will be the one to carry our line forward.” He said as he shook hands with my father while I let out a squeak.

“Don’t worry, it won’t be any time soon, I plan on having you all to myself for a very, very long time.” Cirdan whispered into my ears as I shivered, then he chuckled and kissed my hair.

My father frowned at Cirdan, “I have to be okay with sharing my daughter with you.” he shook his head. “I am not okay with that at all, something which I have to learn.”

The king sounded so put out that we couldn’t help but laugh and Cirdan hugged me closer to himself and I smiled. Weeks ago, I was uncertain about seeing the only person I regarded as family and in less than a month, my family has grown big.

“Why are you trying to come in between us?” Cirdan asked Finn who was glaring at him.

“What?” Finn's frown increased as he paced in front of my bed while Cirdan was lying beside me. “I came between you two? You came between us, now my friend will have no idea that I exist anymore because she is enamored with you.”

“Well, I certainly want to forget you now that you are embarrassing me.” I mumbled under my breath.

“What?” Finn asked.

“I was saying that friends and mates are not the same things, besides you already have friends other than me, I guess you would just have to hang out more with them.” I stated.

“Ouch… so within twenty-four hours of discovering your mate, I am already being kicked out of your life.” Finn stated calmly, his eyes were dark as if he was trying to hide the emotions in them.

“Finn.” I stated, sitting up from my bed instead of the lying position I was in with Cirdan.

“Have a nice life Iris.” Finn answered before he turned and left my room, slamming the door behind him.

“What the hell is up with him?” I griped and Cirdan used one of my hands to massage my collar bone, something that felt nice and was instantly relaxing.

“Don’t know but he is right though, tomorrow you would have to talk to him, telling him that you are not pushing him out of your life okay.”

“I nodded my head in agreement as Cirdan arms wrapped around me and pulled me into his warmth, he didn’t do anything more than that, he just cuddled me.

Still even in his cuddle, I felt strange, only instead of something missing, I felt like pressure was trying to push me down. A pressure that was foreign but also felt like it was coming from within me.
