Chapter 14: Chapter Fourteen
Apparently, Cirdan had to leave school for almost a week after my father’s big reveal, according to the words of Finn, he had to go and pay acknowledgment to his king which was my father, he was not the only folk that went missing, in fact most of them went missing but they gradually came back. None stayed away as long as Cirdan did though. I even started to think that he didn’t want to come back and I desperately wanted him back.
Since the morning after the night when my father's disguise failed, I had had a strange feeling, one which I attributed to Cirdan being away and so I could not be blamed for my reaction when I heard that Cirdan was back.
And he really was so popular that I was not the only student who was moving to the location he was in, it was as if there was an invisible rope connecting me to him. I was gradually feeling lighter with each step I took.
Finn grumbled beside me. Stating how he did not know that I was one of those girls who went crazy for a guy, but I didn’t pay him any mind, still letting my feet and the crowd lead me to him.
And when I came rounded the last corner, I halted my steps as I stared at him as if I had not seen him for years instead of days. I really missed him badly and although we really didn’t talk much before I completely tried to cut him from my life, for a reason which I was finding hard to even remember why it was so important then, he had such a huge impact on me.
As if he could feel me too, his eyes immediately snapped to mine and they held mine even as he started taking steps forward, he had a slight smile on his face as if he was trying to hold himself back from making it obvious but tell that to me.
In that moment I completely forgot that he does not like to be touched and that I never touched him once, I let my feet propel me forward to his arms and the realization that he never wanted to me came a second too late as I ended up in his arms and after the realization, another one slammed me when I felt the tingles, the signs that showed that you just touched your mate.
His eyes widened in surprise before his whole body relaxed, curving around mine fully as he buried his nose into my hair.
“Mate.” He said to me, but his pitch was normal which means almost everybody who was there heard him. Gasps rang out but I did not concern myself with what they were saying as I buried my head fully into his arms, smiling happily at him and the feeling of completeness I was feeling.
“Mine.” I responded and just in time too because he tilted my head up and his lips landed on mine.
He parted my mouth with his as he kissed me fervently, like he was thirsty and I was the only one who can quench his thirst, he nipped, bit and suck at my lips and probably would have done more than that if it was the two of us and if The principal did not clear his throat.
“In public Miss Iris and Master Cirdan, being mates means that you are allowed to do that inside the room but not in public so please let’s refrain from the touchiness okay.” The principal asked.
“Okay.” Cirdan replied as he placed his arms under my knees and lifted me into his arms. I squealed in surprise at the sudden move before I wrapped my arms around his neck, and he proceeded to start moving.
“Unbelievable.” Finn snapped as he stood in Cirdan's way. “Let her down right now.”
Cirdan slowed his walking before he stopped moving forward in general as he frowned at Finn. “What’s up with you?”
“What’s up with me?” Finn questioned in anger. “What’s wrong with you? You have been in the company of her since day one and you want to tell me that you have never touched her. This display is amazing and the usual custom for those who are just finding their mates but not for those whose mates have been close to them for almost a month now.”
“I have been attracted to her just as she has been to me but that does not make her my mate, we would not have known for certain if we didn’t hug just now.” Cirdan explained to Finn while I just glared at him, not understand what Finn's problem was. Couldn’t he ask for clarification after I and Cirdan have at least cemented and settled the bond a little?
“And you want me to believe that you have never touched her before now?” Finn snorted.
“Yes Finn, I haven’t, and now would you get out of our way, you are interrupting what should be a joyful day between Iris and me.” Cirdan snapped at Finn, slowly losing his patience.
“Why does it have to be when you have returned from seeing her father who is the king, a piece of information you did not know before that you decided to claim her. I am thinking that you are playing on her emotions for you, Heaven knows that there are a lot of spells in existence to make attraction feel like a mate bond. You could have used that on Iris for all we know.” Finn replied.
“And you think that I would not be able to know a mate bond from attraction?” It was my turn to get offended with Finn.
“Not to put you down Iris, but you don’t know a lot about this realm, which is alright, you are learning but this is just too convenient to see your mate just like this, Even your parents will have the same idea as me,” Finn explained.
“Fine, then run along and go and tell them.” I suggested, hoping he would leave us long enough for us to make our escape.
“Iris…” Finn started softly.
“This is getting too much. Dude.” Cirdan yelled at Finn.
Finn sighed as his eyes moved to the crowd which was slowly building their momentum in complaining about what Finn was blocking the way and his suspicions were basic and had no evidence.
“Just don’t do anything with him yet okay?” Finn begged me, “Not until your family is aware about this.” He stated and then stepped aside for Cirdan to pass with me with Cirdan complaining under his breathe about why he thought a male friend would be good for me.
But I couldn’t help but think about Finn's words. He was right, there were two options, and both were not looking nice as for now. It was either Cirdan knew I was his mate and he kept that from me purposely or something made the bond snap in place now and that means it has been affected somewhere else.
