Chapter 11: ""...this is going to hurt.""

**Chapter 11**

The room went absolutely still, the Warlocks rapping the apprentices had finished, and let the females bodies fall to the floor like broken dolls. Only one was still able to whimper, the others were silent.

Rain’s females were let go, they fell to the floor and started to crawl away from their molesters. One left a trail of blood from an open knife wound on her thigh. The females seemed to have made it away from their assigned Warlocks before they could fully rape them. Some only made it away by severely maiming their assaulter.

Rain had done the unthinkable, the forbidden. Rain, a slave, had killed a Warlock of the Coven. Not just any Warlock, Rain had killed an Elder of the Coven.

An unmitigated fury started to rage within Rebecca. As she stalked towards Rain a litany started within her. ‘How dare she…how dare she…how dare she…’ Over and over again the words repeated inside her mind.

Rain watched her mom stalk towards her, she had a litany of her own goin on inside her mind as well. ‘No…no…no…no…no…no’ Then Rain read the spell her mother had upon her lips, and saw the twin balls of black lightning.

Rain reacted quickly, and had just enough time to throw up a protection spell. It expanded out from Rain to encase her and all the female slaves.

*“Brace yourself, Hope, this is going to hurt.”* Rain told Hope right before her mothers killing spell hit her dead center in her chest.

The long ropes of black lightning sent Rain flying, and just like she told Hope, it was excruciatingly painful. Inside Rain heard Hope’s howls of pain.

*“I’m so sorry Hope”* Rain said to her wolf, before her own screaming began.

Rain felt like the spell that was repeatedly striking her body over and over again, was ripping her soul apart. Sarah, watching all this, was laughing, she laughed so hard tears were trailing down her cheeks.

Sarah had been angry at first, because she felt Rain had ruined the show Aunty had planned for tonight. Then her Aunty started to punish Rain, Rain’s screams of pain had delighted her so much she had started to laugh and had yet to stop.

Bonnie, Janice, and Kelly, looked at Rain with arrogant and disdainful expressions. The servants made sure to stay out of their Mistresses way, not wanting to have her spell turned on them.

The female slaves watched in horror as Rain was struck by the spell, they also felt the protection she had weaved around them before The Head Coven Witch struck Rain with the first blow. This made their hearts fill with sorrow.

Rebecca, having vented her rage, stopped her assault on Rain, panting a little from her exertion. Rain’s body fell limply to the floor with a thump, looking like a battered fairy. It angered Rebecca that Rain could still look so beautiful, even covered in blood and bruises. Her many scars shiney upon her skin.

So many of the Coven’s Witches and Warlocks have approached Rebecca, begging her to have Rain spend a night or more in their beds. Because for some reason, even starved, covered in a shapeless sack, her hair a mess and covered in filth, Rain managed to be alluring without even trying.

Rain looked like an enchanting red haired fairy, a wood nymph begging to be seduced. Tonight she had finally given in, and received a rather large amount of money for it too. Rebecca thought the only good thing from this was that at least a dead Warlock can’t demand a refund.

Rain lay on the floor, her body littered with bloody gashes everywhere. Her protection spell had kept her mother from separating Hope’s soul from her own. Every lash of her mothers spell had ripped into Rain. Each one attempting to rip Rain and Hope’s souls apart.

The protection spell managed to keep their souls intact, but couldn’t protect their body. so when the lashes couldn’t separate their souls, they retaliated. Shredding her body and opening the bloody gashes that littered her skin. Hope still lay within Rain, but she was curled up, her body trembling with pain.

As Rain’s vision started to go black from the pain, she regretted that she hadn’t been able to do anything for the apprentices. With that regret in her heart, she prayed to the Moon Goddess that they would all be able to escape this wretched place soon.

Just before the blackness in her vision took her to oblivion, Rain’s last sight was the dissatisfied expression on her mother’s face.

Rebecca looked down at Rain, and was disappointed she hadn’t killed her, she was also confused as to how Rain wasn’t dead. Her death spell should have ripped her wolf’s soul from her own, and then it would have painfully destroyed both.

Rebecca’s eyes narrowed, her head tilted just a little to the side, her expression shifted from dissatisfaction to suspicion. Rebecca knew the only way Rain could have lived through her spell was if she applied a protection spell.

Not just any protection spell either, it would have required a high level spell to survive against one of Rebecca’s death spells. Rebecca wasn’t just any Witch after all, she was the Head Coven Witch of the Black Magic Coven.

Rebecca, decided to entertain the small possibility that the reason Rain survived, may have been because of an innate ability. With this thought Rebecca didn’t know whether or not to be annoyed or proud.

‘I did birth the mongrel after all, but after what she did, I thought it was the perfect time to rid myself of her’ Rebecca thought in annoyance.

In the end Rebecca waved her hand as if to dismiss the matter, not wanting to be bothered with it anymore. She ordered the servants to clean up and went back to her seat to finish her meal.

The slaves and the used up apprentaces were taken away, and a fresh group of females and a few males were brought in. A fresh stock of humans in need of breaking in before the coming ritual orgey. The spell keeping the toxic haze around their territory needed to be renewed soon.

During the orgy, the humans would be sacraficed, and the magic from the sex would be absorbed by the Witches and Warlocks. The deaths of the humans would be used to renew the toxic haze barrier spell.

Matt lay on his bed, moonlight from the double window above his bed streaming down on him. The moonlight highlighted Matt’s form, leaving the rest of the area around him in darkness.

Matt’s skin was soaked in sweat, his chest heaving with each panting breath he took. His body felt like it had been ripped to shreds from the inside out. His stomach was churning, threatening to empty itself of its contents.

Inside Matt, his wolf Ares wasn’t doing much better, he was curled up, his body shaking with pain, his sides heaving as he too was panting for air. Matt knew better than to move right away after a nightmare like this.

Matt scoffed at himself thinking ‘Stop lying to yourself, they're visions.’

Done lying to himself, Matt mentally went over everything that had happened in the vision. *“This vision was worse than the others.”* Matt commented to Ares.

Ares drew one side of his muzzle back in a wolfy version of a smirk. *“Done lying to yourself now are ya?”* His words rife with sarcasm.

Matt growled. If he could hit his wolf in the face without hurting himself, he would have done it just then. *“Ass hole.”* Matt snarled.

*“Now, now, no need to snarl.”* Ares said, amusement in his voice. *“And here I thought I was the wolf.”*

*“Laugh it up, chuckle head, this vision felt worse than being rejected.”* Matt growled.

Matt and Ares had come to terms with themselves when it came to that fateful day just a few weeks ago. If not for the rejection, Matt would have remained under Sarah’s control for the rest of his life. Ares would have remained trapped inside without a voice if this had happened.

The fear that went through them both at this realization had made them grateful, after a time, for the rejection. They believed the Moon Goddess had her plans. After Matt’s spell was broken, he was able to free Agatha, Beatrice and Lauren from their spells.

Now his brother, who had been rejected by Beatrice while she was still under Sarah’s control, had his mate. Thank the Goddess Xander didn’t accept Beatrice’s rejection back then.

So much has happened in such a short time. *“Has it really only been a couple of weeks?”* Matt asked Ares.

*“Yes…although it feels like it’s been longer.”* Ares said in his growly voice, being a wolf, there was always a growl to his voice.

*“I wish we knew where Rain was, if she truly exists, then we could rescue her.”* Matt said to Ares.

Matt found himself going back and forth when it came to the subject of Rain and her wolf Hope being real. Because…if they were real, then they were a living being who was being subjected to torture and abuse on a daily basis.

Rain and Hope being real meant their second chance mate was being hurt…and there was absolutely nothing they were able to do to stop it.
