Chapter 5
I woke up the next morning at four am wanting to make sure that I was there before the time Bastian told me to be there.
Surprisingly, no one was there yet. I went ahead and started to do some stretches.
“Well, that’s a view I do not get to see every day.”
I hear a deep voice say from behind me, and I quickly straighten. Heading towards me is Bastian in just a pair of joggers pulled up just below his knees and no shirt. His Beta Jasper in a tank top and shorts and another guy that was tall, dark, and handsome with hazel green eyes.
Freya: Damn he looks yummy!
Me: Freya, please do not fill my head with lustful thoughts when I am trying to prove myself to them.
Freya: You’re right, I’m sorry.
“Easy Terrin, she’s off limits.” Jasper says as they walk up closer to me.
“Good morning!” I say as I continue my stretches.
“You made it.” Bastian says with a bit of surprise in his tone.
“I told you I would.” I answer.
“Luria, this is my head warrior and trainer Terrin. Terrin, this is Luria Mathieson. She is staying with the pack for a little while.”
“Please to meet you, Luria.” Terrin says as I extend my hand to shake his but instead, he turns it palm down to kiss the top of it.
“Well, aren’t you a charmer. You can call me Ria.” I say and hear a slight growl come from Bastian who tries to cover it up with a cough.
“Luria, come on let’s start with a run. Is ten miles too much to start with?”
“Sounds good.” Finishing up with my stretching.
“We will be back in a little while, probably about the time the rest of the warriors show up.”
“Have fun.” Terrin says with a wink.
I laugh and smile as Bastian starts to push me in the direction that he wanted to run.
“Alright enough, let’s go.”
We set off at a good pace and we continued running across the field making our way into the forest.
“Not bad, I was thinking this would be too much for you. Want to go faster?”
“Yeah, that would be great.” And I take off leaving Bastian to run behind me.
“Luria!” Bastian yelled behind me. But I kept running, it just felt so good to be out in nature.
Bastian: Luria, be careful. We are getting close to the pack boundary lines and I do not want you to cross over them.
Me: I’ll slow down.
I slow my pace and within a minute Bastian caught up with me.
“Alright, you have proved that you are a good runner, let’s turn back and head back to the training field.”
“Ok.”
With a quick turn I started making my way back to the training field, keeping Bastian close to me.
When we got back to the training field, there were more warriors that had showed up.
“Good morning, men. We have a visitor training with us today. This is Luria. Now before you start your training, we will be showing a demonstration on how to fight a female in battle.”
I give him a bit of a glare as they start to form a circle around me.
Freya: Ha! They are in for a surprise.
I smirk at her remark.
I notice Bastian is the only male standing in the circle with me.
“You want you and me to give them the demonstration?” I asked.
“I can’t ask any of my warriors to go up against you if I won’t do it myself. Come on, you wanted a good training did you not?” Bastian replied.
“I did. Okay I am ready when you are.” I told him.
Freya: At least he is the one we can take our sexual frustration out on.
I smirked again.
In the beginning I let Bastian get a couple of hits on me, to watch his strengths. The men snickered as they thought their Alpha had the upper hand. After about fifteen minutes I finally started to make some hits and kicks that threw Bastian off and there were a few times that he landed on his back from them. His patience started to wear thin, and you could tell with his timing of hits that he was beginning to fight with his emotions.
“Bastian, ease off.” Terrin calls out.
I could tell Bastian was wanting to refuse to listen. He wanted to see if he could get me on my back. Which I was not allowing. I ended up doing an aerial and a few back flips to give us some space.
Freya: Good girl. Give him a chance to breathe.
But he was already coming at me again.
“Bastian, take it easy.” I say as I continue to block all his moves.
“Why, you look like you are handling it just fine.”
Me: Freya, what do I do?
Freya: Knock him on his ass, and then run.
Taking her feedback, I did a leg sweep which he jumped from but when landing I used my arm to hit behind his knees knocking him off balance and then I slammed my fist into his stomach once he was on the ground and then I took off running and let Freya shift me into a wolf and was gone.

Bastian's POV:
I laid there as I tried to catch my breath, feeling my rage and anger get worse. I tried to regain my stance but when I looked around Luria was nowhere in sight.
“Where is she?”
“She took off running and shifted into her wolf.” Jasper said as he walked up to me.
“What got into you Alpha? I have never seen you fight that hard before.”
Rufus: He is right. You were out of control.
“I didn’t realize, she seemed to be able to handle it.” I said to Jasper.
“Well, if you were trying to scare her into running away from the pack, I think you accomplished it.” Terrin intervened.
What is wrong with me? Why was I pushing her so hard?
Rufus: Maybe you were trying to scare her into not wanting to fight.
Me: Maybe.
“No, that was not my intention. I will talk with her later and apologize for my behavior. Let’s continue training with the warriors.”
A part of me hoped that what Terrin said wasn’t true. Which kind of concerned me too.
When training was over, I noticed Terrin jog over to pick up Luria’s clothes where she had shifted.
“What are you doing?” I asked him, trying to keep the jealousy out of my tone.
“Sorry Alpha, I was just going to drop them off at the beginning of the woods that way she could shift back without worrying.
I take a deep breath before responding.
“That’s probably a good idea.”
I turn and start making my way back to the packhouse. I want to give Luria and I some space and try to figure why I behaved the way I did.
***
Ria's POV:
Freya started to slowly walk back through the woods making our way back to the entrance to the fields.
Me: Why did he do that? I don’t understand. Did I taunt him to be so rough?
Freya: No, you did nothing wrong. That was not even his wolf. His eyes never changed. It could be his emotions getting the best of him. Just take a deep breath, there is no sense in being angry. I’m sure he will talk with you and explain things.
As we got closer to the edge, we could smell another wolf. Freya was guarded and let a slight growl.
Terrin walks out with my clothes in his hand, and both hands up in surrender.
“Easy, it’s just me. I thought you would like to have your clothes to change back into.”
He sets them on the ground and turns around while I quickly shift back and grab the clothes to change into.
“Thank you, that was very nice of you to do.”
“No problem. I also wanted to apologize about our Alpha’s behavior and how rough he was when fighting you. We have never seen him behave that way before.”
“I appreciate the apology, but I will like it much better from your Alpha.”
“If you don’t mind me asking, but where did you train?”
“My mom was my trainer for a good part of my life. She was Luna of the Blood Wolf Moon pack before she died.”
“I am sorry for your loss. She was a great trainer. Your skill is amazing.”
“Thank you.” I said as I moved out from behind a tree and walked up to Terrin.
“If the Alpha is ok with it, I would like to train with you more.”
“Can I ask something?”
“Sure.”
“How come there are no female warriors?”
“Oh well, Alpha doesn’t think it is wise to risk the females in battle. Especially after he lost his True mate in one.”
“I see, but not all female wolves want to be housewives.”
“That is true. We have had a few of our younger females ask if they can at least train to learn self-defense, but the Alpha is very hesitant to let them.”
“Do the females at least get to shift into their wolf form?”
“Yes, absolutely. We have gatherings so the females are able to shift, and the warriors are posted along the borders, so no one gets lost or hurt in their wolf form.”
We approached the training grounds and I stopped for a moment.
“Why don’t you go ahead, I don’t think it would be a good idea if we were seen walking up together.”
“You are probably right. Hey, if you ever want someone to train with, just let me know. Don’t tell the Alpha, but I enjoyed your sparring with him today.”
“Thank you. I will definitely let you know when I would like to train again.”
He waved and then started to head up to the pack house and I turned and started to make my way to the cottage.
I entered the door from the back yard into my room and could smell another wolfs scent.
“What are you doing here Alpha?” I called out as I quickly closed my bedroom door putting something in between us.
“Come on Luria. I am not here to hurt you. I simply want to talk.” He said on the other side of the door.
“I’m going to take a shower first and then I will be out.”
“Ok.”
I quickly grabbed some clothes to change into and went into the bathroom locking the door behind me. After finishing my shower, I changed into a pair of leggings and a tank top. I slowly open my bedroom door and find Bastian sitting on my couch with his arms stretched out on the side and back of the couch. He didn’t move as I made my way out and slipped into the arm chair a little way from him.
“Luria, I owe you an apology. I honestly do not know why I was fighting with you so roughly and could not back down.”
“Do you think you were trying to scare me, from wanting to fight?”
“I don’t know, maybe.”
“Bastian, how come you do not have female warriors?”
“I don’t feel that is safe for the females to fight. It is a man’s job to protect the women and children. Why risk the females to that kind of horror?”
“But some females want to be a part of it. In my old pack, females were allowed to fight right next to the males. My mom, while Luna fought next to my father and represented a united front.”
“Didn’t she die protecting your father?”
I gulped and looked down into my lap.
“Yes.”
“If she hadn’t been fighting than she would still be here.”
I look up and glare at him before saying, “We don’t know that. My father would be dead, and everything wouldn’t be as it is now.”
“So, you feel everything happens for a reason, right?”
“To a certain degree yes.”
He leans forward resting his elbows on his knees and said, “Then why would you be able to have premonitions? Are they not ways to be able to change fate?”
“Not always. I can’t always change the outcome to a situation.”
“But you try?”
“Yes.”
He leans back into his previous position before saying, “So, why can’t I try to change the fate of the woman in my pack so that they never know what it feels like to be in a battle and have to kill someone.”
“You are taking away their choice. A choice to be what they want to be within the pack. You are forcing them to just settle with being a dutiful mate that has pups and takes care of the family.”
He bolts up from his seat as he yells, “I am trying to save their life so that they can live and not die.”
Bastian starts to pace the floor.
I take a deep breath before saying, “I’m sorry, it’s not my place to judge you on how you run your pack.”
He runs his hand through his hair.
“I have to go; I need to run off this anger.” He walks over to the door and opens it.
“Bastian?”
He stops in the doorway.
“You need to be careful with your anger, getting angry easily and holding onto it is one of the symptoms of not having your heart healed.” I said softly.
He walked out and slammed the door.
Freya: Well, that went well. Don’t think he is coming back later.
Me: He needs to know.
Freya: Yes, but I would like to not get kicked out for us voicing our opinions where they do not belong.
I rolled my eyes.
Me: Fair point.
I hear my phone beep indicating a text message.
Mak: How are things with you and the Alpha?
Me: They were going well until I decided to ask if I could train with him and his men, where he preceded to try to scare me off from fighting. And then when he came to apologize, and I chose to pass judgement on the fact that he does not allow his female wolves try out to be warriors.
Mak: Ouch.
Me: Yeah, I know I messed up.
Mak: Just give him time to calm down.
Me: Yeah, you are right. How are you doing?
Mak: Ok. It’s boring here without you.
Me: Maybe if the Alpha forgives me, I can ask him if it would be ok if you came for a visit?
Mak: That would be awesome!
Me: Don’t get your hopes up.
Knock, knock.
Me: Have to go, someone is at the door.
Mak: K. Talk later!
I walked over to the door and opened it.
Bastian was leaning against it with both arms holding onto the frame.
“Hey,” I say quietly.
He grunted as he walked in and swept me over his shoulder and walked me into the bedroom. He walked over to the bed and dropped me down onto it. He started to remove my clothes.
“Does this mean you are no longer angry?”
“Nope.”
I try to help him with his clothes, but he pushes my hand away. And starts to crawl over me pinning me to the bed.
“So, this is angry sex then?” I ask in a questioned tone.
“Shh,” he says as he rubs his face into my neck and hair. Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves.
Freya: Oh boy! This should be fun.
He takes his hand and slides it down my body and start to rub between my legs. I release a moan from my mouth.
He pulls his fingers away and replaces it with his member as he quickly pushes it inside of me.
“Ahh,” I breathe out, taken surprised by how quick he thrusted into me.
He starts to move faster, thrusting harder and harder into me.
I moan his name. “Bastian.”
He pulls out and rolls me onto my stomach and pulls my hips up so that I am on my knees and thrusts back into me.
Again, I let out a moan.
He now is thrusting harder and faster. “Come on Luria, give me what I want.”
“I’m, I’m close.”
He continues his pace and I start to hear a low growl coming from his chest.
“Luria,” he moans as he finishes inside me.
His release causes me to hit mine and we finish nearly together. He collapses on top of me as we try to catch our breaths.
“Feel better?” I ask him.
He continues to just stare up at the ceiling.
“Bastian?”
“I didn’t use to get this angry so easily. I was usually rational and could hold my temper. But lately it’s just like anything can set me off. I don’t want to be like this.”
I curled up to him and just laid there with him. This was a big step for Bastian, and I didn’t want my words or thoughts mess that up.
“Luria, how do you know when a wolf is ready to be healed?”
“The moment you are ready to open your heart again, your eyes will turn silver and I say a prayer to the Moon Goddess to heal you so that you can find love again.”
“Does it take a long time for you to heal a wolf?”
“Every wolf is different. I will say that you have been my biggest challenge.”
He let out a laugh.
We just laid there quietly until Bastian got up and put his clothes on and headed out.
I rolled out of bed and headed into the bathroom to take a shower.
Freya: That’s the first step.
Me: Yep.
I put my hand under the water to check the temperature before stepping into the shower.
Freya: How are you feeling about that?
Me: What is there to feel Freya? This is our job. We heal Alphas and after this one we will take some time off and see if we too are ready to heal.
Freya: It’s weird.
Me: What is?
Freya: I don’t know I can’t put my claw on it. I just am getting this strange feeling when we are around them and his wolf is amazing in bed.
I put my head under the water to try to wash off the images that Freya is displaying in my head.
Me: Alright, Alright. Yes, he is amazing in bed and definitely can curb your appetite for sex. But it doesn’t mean anything.
Freya: I’m just saying maybe we should keep an open mind about things.
Me: Sure, we can keep an open mind on things. Whatever that means.
I get out of the shower and throw some casual clothes on. I walk into the kitchen and start looking for what I would like to make for dinner.
