Chapter 25

Vivan “Clean the mess,” I ordered Brett, and he gave me a slight nod before walking out. I was watching the man who was lying on the floor, dead. The man who had betrayed me. I wiped my hands clean though they remained stained with dry blood, reminding me of how I had been torturing my betrayer, how I had been killing the captain of my army. I glanced down at his corpse one more time before walking toward my office.

I didn’t see the spots of blood on my black shirt, but I could smell it. My life had been tough since the day when I had taken a gun in my hand when I had preferred the dark world over my father’s so-called textile business. I could have chosen a peaceful life, I could have been a simple businessman, I could have lived a normal life. But No, I didn’t want such a kind of life. I had dreamed of becoming the most powerful man since the day when I recognized the cruel world and yes, here I am, one of the most powerful men in the world.

I walked into my bathroom and cleaned my hands and face before taking off my shirt. Brett had already brought a fresh piece of cloth for me. I quickly changed into my new suit and walked out, taking my place. Someone knocked on the door. “Come in,” I said while glancing down at the file.

Brett came in, “Boss, we have cleared him up and also informed his brother about his death. He will be right here shortly.”

I met his gaze while resting my body against the chair. “Good. And what about the matter that I asked you about yesterday?”

“I’ve made all the arrangements. This time, we have arranged double security and set the trackers for each of our men. I assure you, this time she will be reached safely,” he said. “Are you sure you want to do this?” He gave me a questioning look.

I ran my fingers through my hair. “What do you want me to keep her forever?” I had to send Kiara back to her home. I couldn’t keep her for a lifetime. And I would not have brought her if I had not promised my sister. I had promised Ava that I would keep her until she would fully recover, and it had been one month. It was time to send her back.

He scratched the back of his neck and couldn’t understand what to say. “I didn’t mean that, but I thought she meant something to you after all. You have rescued her twice.”

I fixed him with a cold hard glare, “Don’t think too much Brett, and do what I told you, asking no single question.”

He nodded before walking out. My phone rang, and I quickly picked it up without thinking twice, “Hey, Ava.”

She murmured something to someone, “Let me ask him first. Hey, bro” her voice was joyful.

“How are you? Is everything alright? You call me?” I asked while studying some papers which were left by Harmony. It contained the names of countries where my drug supplies were going to take place.

“Yes, everything is fine. Can’t I call my big brother? Did I disturb you?” There was disappointment in her voice.

“Of course, you can call me anytime, Ava. I always have time for my little sister.”

“I thought you don’t like to talk to me” I could imagine her sad face, how much I had been ignoring her in the past months, how could I had been treating her. “Ok, leave this topic. What are you doing?”

“I’m working. What are you doing?” I heard a familiar voice in the background. “Where are you?”

She giggled on the other side, “I’m in your mansion with Harley and Kiara” she paused for a moment, “I, Kiara, and Harley are going to one of my charity events. I have called you to ask for your permission. Can I take them with me? I mean, I’d like to take them to a different place. It will please Harley.”

“You can take them with you, but only on one condition.”

“What?”

“Caleb and David will also accompany you.”

She snorted. “How many people will get in my car?”

“Stupid, they have their car.”

She laughed, “Oh. I will talk to you later. We are getting late. Thank you so much for allowing them with me. It’s a long time since I have had someone to talk with,” her voice filled with despair. I felt pity for her after Alice’s incident. She had lost everyone, her friends, her job, and even her brother. I couldn’t imagine how much she had been through after that incident.

I made my way to Kiara’s room. I didn’t get time to talk to her. Harley had already fallen asleep. She had shared with me a lot of things about her whole day. First, they attended a charity event. After that, they went to a restaurant and went shopping. My girl seemed happy for today and I was glad Ava had taken her somewhere in a different place.

I knocked on the door before entering the room. When she allowed me to come in, I entered her room. She was sitting on the couch and reading the book, “I think it is inappropriate you have come to my room on such a late night.”

I ran my fingers through my hair, “It is also inappropriate you are living with me with no relation.”

She frowned, crossing her arms. “Don’t you remember your words? You said that I am your maid? Then we are about the owner and maid.”

She has every fucking answer.

“But my maids are not living with me in my mansion. I have never provided them with designer clothes, jewelry and I have never taken them to social events.”

“I’m your expensive maid” she tucked the strand of hair behind her ear, smiling.

“We need to talk.”

She quickly met my gaze. “What is so urgent?”

I sat down on the couch and patted the empty place beside me. “Come here.”

She glared at me coldly.

“Come here, please” I pronounced my words politely, and next she obeyed me and took a place beside me. The smell of rose hit my nose, and I was urged to bury my face in the crook of her neck. Fuck, I can’t do this.

“Don’t you miss your family? Your mother and all, whoever you have?”

Her eyes dropped to her palms for a few moments. She didn’t understand what to say. “I have told you I have no one except for my mother, and she has been hospitalized for four years. I miss her so much but seeing her in a hospital bed every time only gives me heartaches” her voice didn’t carry any emotion, only a stiff sound.

“That means you don’t want to go to her ever again. Then who has been taking care of her?”

She shook her head for a few seconds, and her eyes fell into sadness. “I never said that. I’ll go to her eventually, but not now. Knowing that my life is in danger, then how can I go there? I have to be alive, not for me, but her. She is the only family left in this world.”

I took hold of her soft hand and she shot me a look of confusion. “What if I give you full security? I’ll shift your mother to the best hospital and provide her with every facility. I’ll pay all her bills and fulfil all your requirements.”

She immediately snatched her hand back. “Could you please tell me why you are talking like that? What do you want?”

“I want nothing, Kia. I just want you to leave this house. I don’t want you here anymore. I can’t keep you forever. I’m willing to do anything whatever you ask me, but in return, leave us.” looking at her expression, I didn’t realize my bitter words.

“I performed my work honestly. I took care of your house, I took care of your daughter and even I took care of you...” She quickly bit her lips, “I mean, your girlfriend. I have been pretending to be your girlfriend.”

I held her eyes. “Things are not about work, care, and me. Things are.....” I didn’t know what to say. Everything had changed between us from the day she kissed me. Now I see her differently. The more I see her, the more I am attracted to her.

“Things are. What, Vivian? Do you hate me so much that you can’t stand my presence in your house?”

“I don’t hate you, Kia. Even this question is reversed to you?”

She said nothing, pushing the strand of her hair behind her ear and biting her lower lips. “I can do anything to stay here, Vivian.”

“You’re leaving the day after tomorrow,” I said coldly and stood up and walked out without glancing at her face.

“I’m going to enjoy her company,” Ava said, looking at Harley. “We are going to have so much fun, little queen.”

“I wish Kiara could also come with us to Disneyland,” Harley said.

I looked at Kiara, who was standing on the other side, lost in her world. She was thinking of something deep.

“Kiara” Ava approached her by shaking her gently, “Where are you?”

“Oh, sorry, what were you talking about?” She said while smiling forcefully.

“We’ll miss you” Ava embraced her, “Next time I’ll take you even if I have to fight my brother.”

She nodded to her, glancing at me briefly, “Next time, huh?”

Harley came next and Kiara sat on her knees, “Please take your medicines on time and no spicy food” she checked her body temperature, “Your temperature is moderate so you don’t need to take medicine” she looked up at Ava, “I have written all her medicine time please make sure that she will get it on time.”

I felt guilty for the first time Kiara had been taking good care of my daughter. Even I didn’t know that much about Harley’s medication, because Rose used to take care of all that stuff with Kiara. But I could not change my decision. She would have to go.

Caleb and David picked up all the luggage and loaded them in the car. I had never left Harley alone. But Ava wanted to take her to California for a few days so that she could spend some time with her. It had been a long time since she had spent time with her.

I patted Caleb’s back. “Take care of my girls.”

I gave him the responsibility for them instead of David because Ava felt uncomfortable near David. So Caleb was the only option. He was a good fighter, too. It was difficult to defeat him with a knife. That was the reason I was putting him as my daughter’s bodyguard. He gave me a nod and sat in the car. Ava and Harley waved their hands, saying goodbye to us. I smiled at them and waved them back. Kiara was doing the same, but her mind was somewhere, and I knew what she had been thinking about.

I adjusted my suit while waiting for my car. I had an urgent meeting with a Mexican.

“Can we talk?” I heard her soft voice, softer than the rest of the days, “I....”

Before she could complete herself, I cut her off, “We have talked about it at night and I would never change my decision, Kia.” I sat in the car and glanced at her through the mirror. She was still in her place looking depressed.

I glanced at my watch as it was half-past twelve. Since Harley was not there for me so I was not bound to come on time. I pressed the security code and walked in. The mansion was dead silent. The only sound I could hear was the steps of my shoes. Kiara must sleep in her room. Tomorrow morning, she will be leaving for her place.

I walked into my room, taking off my clothes. I entered the bathroom and cleaned myself before going to bed. Today was an exhausting day not because of work but because my mind was processing many things at the same time about my daughter and Kiara. I was missing my daughter badly. She must have been enjoying her tour with her aunt. But my mind was unstable, always thinking about her health and safety.

“Vivian,” Kiara’s soothing voice echoed in my ear.

“What happened...?” I turned to her and froze at her sight. She stood in the doorway almost naked. She was only in her robe and wore nothing under that damn piece of cloth. And fuck she came here to bait me, “What the hell are you doing here, Kia?” I turned back, trying to ignore her, “Get out. I won’t change my mind.”

And the next moment she hugged my back rubbing her body against mine, “Shh, let me give you pleasure first” she said seductively and trailed her hands down my body. Fuck, I was just in pairs of shorts, and she was testing me. Her hot breath was fanning my back and made me hard.

After drawing a long breath, I turned to her, grabbing her wrist, “Don’t” my voice came out husky, “Don’t do this!!”

She reached my lips, but I stepped back, and didn't want her lips to touch mine. “Whether you want me or not, your body wants me in every way, Vivian.”

With the use of another hand, she freed herself from the robe, which was the only piece covering her body. When it fell, I breathed hard, struggling to control my desire. She was asking me to fuck her. I clenched my hands into a fist, “Do you know how I fuck women” I narrowed my eyes at her, “I fuck them rough.”

She slipped her hand behind my back, bending me down. “If that makes you happy, then you can do this with me, too.”

I closed my eyes for a moment. She was playing hard, “I don’t want to hurt you, Kia. I can’t do this to you.”

She met my gaze, which was filled with desire. “Why can’t you hurt me, Vivian?”

My jaw clenched. “Because you’re special to me.”

For a moment, something flickered into her beautiful eyes. “Then you’re hurting me by sending me back to my place. I don’t want to go there” she ran her hand slowly over my bare chest and I breathed in deeply. Fuck!! She was fucking my brain and so was my body.

“One week” I rasped, “I’m giving you one week to stay here after that you’ll be out of here forever” I lifted her and set her on the bed, “If you want me to fuck you then I’m ready” I dropped my shorts and my boxers then moved on top of her on the bed.

Her body tensed in response. “Don’t you want me, Vivian?”

My lips curled into a dark smile. “I want you, baby,” her eyes lit up with excitement. I moved my hands over her ass. She was too fucking gorgeous. I had never brought my whore into my mansion, let alone had sex. But this woman was an exception to me.
